Thank you very much for sharing your story. I can relate to it alot. It's like your telling part of my story but the way you describe how you felt and what you went through as an adult, all the unnecessary things because of what happened. That's where I am now. 😢 and I want to be able leave it in the past but it impacts me every day in my parenting and everything. I wish I had the strength you had. I just don't know how. Sorry for my rambling but thank you for sharing your story it made me realise something but I don't know how to put it in words. And hopefully it will help someone else aswell. As a grandmother I can't understand how I can know something is happening with my granddaughter or even suspect and do nothing. This is happening too much in the black community and these evil backward women would shield these abusers.

Sorry you suffered SB in childhood. I am crying with you Rebecca. No child should suffer this heinous crime. As a child your brain is not fully developed and the chemicals in the brain becomes out of balance. I know all too well. I can understand when you think of it, to suffer any type of sexual activity before you become an adult, the chemicals in the body change and mature before it is suppose to. Like you no one ask me any questions, although my parents knew I went through molestation in the home by a family member. To go through trauma in childhood really affects you as an adult. Your a beautiful strong lady and standing strong. We need to stop protecting these pedophiles in the home, speak his name. I had to, I wanted to protect children being born in my family. I understand how hard it is. like you I could not protect myself and did not know my worth. You are valuable and loved. You are no victim. I pray love, light, healing and blessing over your life.❤💜

This story got into my bones. I know all about not living. I know about discovering the NOW. I am amazed by your honesty Rebecca in calling out that Grandma knew. In calling out the emotional void that predator took advantage of as well the coping that happened alone. Our parents may do great things for revenge and still fall short in meeting our needs. Congratulations to you for putting the living back into your life.

I’m sorry for what you’ve endured and didn’t know how to let go of this pain for so many years. It’s sad that the victim ends up being blamed and not the perverts that know what they’re doing and manipulating you and everyone around.
You’re right he did take many things away from you. However, he never did take away your worth. You’re worth so much and I’m glad you are healing and that you are more confident in yourself.
I know when parents don’t take care of their children mentally, emotionally, physically, this is very damaging. We end up being unsure of who we are and even think that we don’t matter. That we are only here for others to use and that we shouldn’t complain when we’re unhappy with something. I’ve always notice many of us childhood trauma survivors don’t start getting healed until we’re in our 40s. I’m 44 as of November this year and I’ve been ready books on my trauma and trying to heal. I’d get counseling but I’m living abroad in a country that doesn’t speak English. I cannot afford those online counseling programs even when they offer a discount. Being on disability is rough even living in a cheaper country and I’m the one taking care of my spouse financially too and laws changed so no jobs available for non-citizens.
Anyways, I really wish I could have some help on my childhood trauma with someone that understands. My spouse has a family that the complete opposite they are involved in his life and they are very loving towards him and they treat me well too. I’d reach out to his mom but I don’t speak Persian and she doesn’t speak English. My spouse is multilingual.
I just really appreciate your strength and how you are determined to life your live more fully despite the horrible past. I’m so glad your cousin stands up for you in family fights and drama. You have such an upbeat personality and I can tell you’re very strong and that you never give up. You may have wanted to give up, but I feel as you were able to push on through it all. I’m glad you’re now a priority in your life that your feelings and thoughts are being a knowledge by yourself and that you are sharing your story with others. So far, your story and perseverance with your upbeat personality has really touched my heart. You’re like my kind of people. ❤

😢I feel so bad for you. This happens so much in the black community. I just feel bad that your family didn't protect you. Why would the lights be turned on? And nobody said to turn them off. This happened to me by my father but at 17 he got locked up for 10 years. I know you had a lot of PTSD. I go to therapy. My family on my dad side was going to disown me because of the situation. I don't speak to my dad . I believe he is a monster.
@KatrinaWall-qq2qm Sorry you experienced such trauma. It happens in all communities. I believe adults don't know how to deal with such a terrible crime, so sweep it under the carpet. I am so glad your dad was sent to prison. My predator is my half-sibling who is still out there, although I called him out to Police and family. My parents knew and did nothing. We are strong, and we are survivors.❤

I'm so sorry for what you've been through.
I'm dealing with a situation right now where someone I know in my life has so many signs of abuse, and I just want this person to be happy, and the most likely perpetrator has actually been in jail for years for doing it to someone else, but she still can't face the reality of what this perpetrator has done and has not even begun to heal.
What a testimony!! There are soooo many young girls that this has happened to that haven’t found their voice yet or able to release so I’m soo thankful for your honesty and openness. This happened to me by one of my aunt’s boyfriends but it didn’t go that far because I was able to maneuver around since it had other kids in bed with me. Not the only time that that had happened and still today I don’t know why I didn’t say anything. But God is doing a work and watching this video while on the Esther fast I know that all will be well!!

I dont like it.She should not have let him back in the house no more.One thing i hate about black families is they put a shield of protection over molesters and predators.You put dirt on others then the dirt deserves you... My closest friend experienced this with her own dad and laid him down to rest january of this year.

Everything you listed in this insensitive comment about your upbringing was hers as well. Her parents were married, she lived with her family, she wasn't spending the night with anyone. This literally all happened in the home where she lived with her parents and family.

I wish I could talk to her bc it sounds like everything I went through as far as my body getting used to those behaviors and still to this day some things that I like for my partner to do to me are things that were done to me as a child and that makes me feel…nasty…when she said “moving didn’t heal my soul” I felt that….&& about not knowing how to have a proper relationship…the only thing that saves my relationships is friendships and laughs …the intimacy lacks always and it hurts

These predators did not “steal our virginity”. Virginity is a gift that we give to whom ever we like. These predators SA us. Sex is a mutual agreement. SA is not. There is a difference! I love y’all! WE are survivors.
Virginity is a religious concept and mutual agreement is very new. Unfortunately, no victim is a virgin… but why care about “virginity” when it’s a religious concept?
You're correct. Virginity is not about the physical it's about consent. Sexual violent crimes and sex is are two different categories.
Rape is a sexually violent crime it's not sex. So the first person a person has consensual sex with is the person that has that person's virginity. It can't be stolen through sexual violence just like your consent can't be.
I don't know why religious people try to act like it's physically based like they're trying to retraumatize survivors of childhood sexual abuse. It's like they don't understand consent goes with virginity.
