Through therapy and speaking out about her experiences, she is shedding light on the often-overlooked challenges that can arise within the adoption process. Join us as we listen to Sabrina's story with empathy and learn from her powerful insights.

    As an adoptee, I totally believe what she is saying. I think the worst part of abuse is feeling like we were unloved by our biological parents and then unloved and abused by an adoptive parent. I feel sorry for all the children who have suffered abuse and have life-long sadness and other mental health issues. We are survivors.

      I know this doesn’t help but your parent giving you up for adoption has absolutely nothing to do with you. They’re the ones with the demons. I hope you know you are just as important as every other person in the world. And if you are a good person, maybe even a little more important than most. I hope you can one day heal.

      You dont get a choice when you adopt its whatever comes first and you take the kid. You get a (depending on state) check of $300-$900 a month per child. Its "extra" money that these parents get towards bills and they leave the children to suffer.

      Great in theory however there are a multitude of reasons that a person puts a child up for adoption. In the best case scenario a child might meet a parent who just simiply didn’t want them or couldn’t take care of them. In worst cases we have ppl who put their child up for adoption due to drug addiction, abuse within the home, mental issues, etc. not all family members want to or are able to connect not to mention it’s not always the best case for the child to reconnect with parents. I know someone who reconnected with parents who were pretty much scammers and just wanted money. Also with safe haven laws some children just won’t have a family member on record

    This is the perfect example as to why I don’t trust these kinds of adoption…these children always experience the racism from a certain demographic when they are adopted out to them. I feel a sorry t for her and this whole system failed her and caused her to feel worthless.

    • @machimuchy7963
      @machimuchy7963 Před 9 měsíci +1

      Saying that a certain demographic is racist, Is racist. You have a lot of people that adopt kids within their own race, and heras them. On other hand you have a lot of people that adopt kids, and threat them right. What about her own mother who was black like her, and gave her up for adoption. That was not enough so she had other kids, and gave them up for adoption. At the end she didn't even repent. On the other side her father was white, and would probably look for her, if he wasn't lied to by the same black mother. So let's not act like the whole other demographic is racist. Racism is not prevalent to one race only. That's why you have a derogatory terms for whites like "Craker".

    All my mom had to do was be really nice with the CPS worker and they would give her heads up on when they were coming over so she would have me and my sister clean up the whole house before CPS came to make it look like as if we were living in a really clean house when it wasn’t like that at all. I grew up with Rats, mice, cockroaches, mold, and me and my sister were always there to clean up everything.

    In the early 80s I was close for a few years with a girl who lived in the foster home nextdoor. I’ve always regretted that I lost touch with her when we moved away. I tired unsuccessfully to track her down online from time to time. A few years ago I tried again and my heart skipped a beat when I found a facebook page in her name. It had been more than 30 years since I’d seen her, but the photo… those eyes. It was definitely her. The most recent post, written by her brother three months earlier, said that after a years-long battle, she’d finally succumbed to her addiction.
    I was so devastated about her loss. About not having been able to tell her that I loved her and still though about her. That she had deserved so much more in her childhood than she got. That she mattered.
    Your story is such a powerful reminder that each of us is stronger than we realize… that we are not our pasts. I only wish she’d known that.

    I'm an adoptee that got lucky. This burns me to the core. I've heard a lot of horror stories over the years from other adoptees. I'm so sorry for my brother's and sisters who were not loved as I was. I know adoption can and does work, but I also know how cruel people can be. I actually believe in abortion because I'd rather not have lived if I didn't have this particular life.

    It's good to hear these stories...I always heard how the social services branches tended to be putting children in just about any home who would have them...the income incentives for those families was all that was considered by most of the people and then ones who really cared didn't realize the hardships of raising traumatized children...and a lot of times couldn't keep them because of that only...they were never for warned or provided with any instructions...I'm guessing there are many like stories out there just waiting to be told...prayers for healing❤❤❤

    I think that we need a relationship with God to know what love is!

      Facts . She didn’t abuse me because of my race she abused me because she was mentally unstable. She abused my adoptive siblings that as well, and they are white . and these programs pray on children. None of the people who operated the programs were even qualified to work with children. They were all former drug addicts and criminals that got out of prison, and found Jesus and opened up programs to become the new Lester Roloff. My book explains my story way better.
