    I am a former tech worker who lived in NYC for 30 years. When I reached 50, I set out my own and created a business selling on Amazon using their FBA program. Great fun, but neither career left much time for healthy living.
    I turned 60 last year (2023). I found myself 110 pounds overweight and seriously out-of-shape, pre-diabetic, with sky-high cholesterol, and unable to walk for more than 20 minutes without resting.
    I decided to make some major changes. I shut down my Amazon business and started living frugally. Health is more important than money, especially as we grow older. In August 2023 I started the carnivore diet and lost 65 pounds in 3 months.
    Now I’m hooked! I can walk for miles without a rest now. My cholesterol is within normal levels as is my blood pressure. I am no longer pre-diabetic, and I feel 30 years younger!
    After experiencing the benefits, I’ve become passionate about sharing my story to help others.

    It’s the realization that Carnivore is indeed the proper human diet and not one of deprivation as a temporary reset.

      idk we seem to be hardwired to replace our glycogen stores. was reading that most diets fail because that hardwiring is very hard to ignore. it may take some time but at some point most will eat some carbs.

    Hi Jay, I have been on the carnoviore diet for 6 months now, I agree the cravings are real and tough to deal with because we have been on high carb diets since childhood, When the media is pushing sugar and carbs your entire life, it's hard to kick the carbs without some serious planning and a map to a better future, We see the entire food industry ,doctors and media all in bed to just get people hooked on carbs for life, This in turn , Turns people into diabetics, and overweight obese citizens for life , This in turn gives doctors a life long patient with issues from weight, to heart disease ,and a list of other issues ,where people go thru life on medications with massive side effects and other problems for life.
    I know for me what helps me most is to have plenty of protein around at all times , like lots of bacon, smoked turkey sticks sausage patties, fresh sliced ham ,That way when I do have a urge for carbs, I grab some pieces of bacon for a quick fix , Or I may take a slice of ham and put a piece of cheese on it for a quick snack that will tide me over, So far its going well for me and my overall health is better then its been in over 40 years,

      That’s great! Yes, there is a lot of bad diet info out there, but ultimately it’s up to me what I put in my mouth. I’m glad we’ve found a healthier diet!

    Hi Jay, thanks for another video, very nice park you are in today. I am also a "Carbaholic" and have fallen so many times in the 66 months since I started Carnivore. I just did a few days of water-fasting and today having a ribeye steak... well I can't eat a whole one, so half a ribeye steak. I am trying harder than ever, and really want to keep strict Carnivore. Cheating does not work for me either.

      And there is no need to cheat. We know the consequences. For me it’s the social eating that I’ve got to watch out for.

    Jay - listening you and your struggles, is what I am going thru. For me right now, you and Dr Ken Berry are big supporters and mentors for me to stick with this new lifestyle. I commend you on all your success you have achieved so far and look forward for both me to make those same changes and to follow you with whatever comes up next.     Yes, you're either an abstainer or a moderator. I'm an abstainer now since just having a few carbs it triggers all kinds of cravings. Then the inflammation returns and morning bloating. Ugh. I'm almost jealous of people who can moderate their carb intake and not let it bother them. Nice video!

    I don't think you are alone with the carb cravings. I get wicked bad cravings, brain fog, and joint aches if I go off diet. If I am near carb loaded food I can't control myself after eating them once. Thankfully I live far from grocery stores and restaurants most of the time and am rarely able to cheat.

    Hi there. Yes once you’re on carnivore I don’t think you can go back. I haven’t lost weight yet and even though the other benefits have been small, they’ve been significant to me, so this is it.
    I so envy guys walking alone in such a beautiful place. when I walk my dogs I’m always conscious that I could be in danger and looking behind me. Sad isn’t it.

      The benefits are many, and the weight loss will come over time. Try keeping your eating within a six hour window each day, and eliminate everything except beef if you haven’t already. Try this for 30 days and I’ll bet you will lose weight. It’s what I do when my weight levels and it always works for me.

    Jay, I’m like you. I have to be 100% all in on my eating plan. I have tried in the past to have a cheat carb ( no plural and not a meal) and boom it’s like my word changes. Horrible headaches, I feel like I’ve been beat up, the craziest cravings to drive to the nearest donut shop, bloating, it’s awful. It takes me weeks for my body to get back to my clear headed, bouncy self. So you are not alone and yes it’s an addiction. I’ve also noticed and this may be connected but If I ever get a weird head twing to have sugar/carbs I know it’s my body miss reading signals and I need salt. One piece of yummy bacon and the craving goes ‘bye bye!’

      For me the weirdness lasts for 3 or 4 days, but I know exactly what you mean. A cheat day just isn’t worth the discomfort later.

    Haha, that's a small river. Very beautiful setting. If a guest in YOUR home wants to cook, set your own ground rules. It's your kitchen and your life. If they are your friend, they will honor you by not feeding you toxic harmful foods. So, sorry, that's on you🎉

      @@Jaylwoodworth all the more reason to not have that stuff in the house. I always told my patients that when you pull out of the grocery store parking lot and look in your rear view mirror, you WON'T see the temptation foods chasing you screaming, "You forgot to buy me and bring me home"! If it isn't in your cart, it won't be in your car, kitchen, LIFE. Be an adult instead of that little kid screaming in the cereal and candy isles for crap their mom won't buy them. LOL. LOVE TO YOU and please take this in the light hearted spirit of a caring friend and extremely caring Nurse Practitioner.

    I think a HUGE number of us crave carbs - not so much refined sugar for me, but pastas, breads, potatoes, grains, etc.

      Wheat is sprayed with glyphosate 6 weeks before harvest. Think of the poison you are eating next time you eat bread and pasta 🤢🤢🤢

    My addiction is tomatoes. I'm dreaming about the blasted things. Still in the very early stage of the diet and I did cave in to buy a burger, more for the tomato than the rest. But I am back and hope I'll resist the temptation. Fortunately, I am alone so staying on it is easier.

      There’s definitely worse addictions - I’m fighting off my addiction to milk products - which contain a surprisingly large amount of carbs in the form of lactose - but the little temptations always lead to larger ones. Kefir and raw milk have been my obstacles. Good luck!

    I’m one month into carnivore, down 18 lbs, but I feel you, I’ve had some temptations especially when my family gets pizza or sweets, I just don’t tempt fate, I got this feeling if I indulge even a little ill spiral out of control with it

      Yes, it’s a huge risk to take at the beginning. After 3 months you will have set yourself up with some new habits so you’re not as likely to be permanently derailed if you have a cheat meal, but it’s still not a good thing to do, in my experience.

    I am Ketovore and when I go off the scale is up 2 to 5 pounds but it’s not fat…it’s water weight. When I go back on the scale goes back to what it was before going off. Very encouraging video!

      I think in my case it’s mostly water too. It comes on very quickly, like I’ll gain 5-10 libs in a week and will feel all bloated. The good thing is, it’ll drop off in a week when I get back on carnivore.

      Bacon is a wonderful cure for that cravings attack. Also, hard boiled eggs in the fridge.
