All Great advice! I’d like to add one more piece. I felt like I was force feeding myself beef in the beginning and couldn’t get over the fact that I had come to hate the taste of beef. I used to love beef! I realized that it wasn’t the taste of beef I hated, it was where I was getting the beef. I talked to the manager of the meat department at Kroger and found out that they were buying their beef prepackaged from China. I started buying all my meat from the local butcher shop, and that changed everything. The taste and texture were amazing and every meal became a treat. I then found a regenerative farm in the heart of the poshest neighborhood in Cincinnati. I think you’ll find that the prices are cheaper than your grocery chain store, and the quality of the beef, chicken, and pork. Is a million times better! It’s probably in my head, but when I eat the meat from the regenerative farm, I feel better inside. Good luck to u all on your carnivore journey ❤
@@bonnieturner1959 me too. I am also ok with adding a few really small slices of pickle, red onion, and deseeded tomato. I lather the 8 ounce burger patty in butter and fry up a few slices of bacon. I even use Redmond's garlic salt. SO GOOD. I used to drown my burgers in ketchup and now I can't really stand it since it is so sweet. A little variety can help us stay on track.
We've been purchasing 1/2 grass fed beef, but haven't been able to lately. Smith's (Kroger affiliate) has had good sales on steak and roasts. But I've been feeling so sick after eating them. This answer's that question.
Carnicore for 22 days so far. Went out with my husband and kids to a tearoom. They had hot chocolate and scones, I had coffee and ate the little butter and the clotted cream😂. I was really proud and astonished at the fact that I felt zero craving for their "treats". They looked beautiful but the idea of biting into them was weirdly off-putting. I am a real sugar addict so this is a very welcome new feeling. I'm eating untill I'm pleasantly full and then i can go for hours forgetting about food. The weight is coming off ever so slowly, but it is coming off. Never felt better. Night anxiety, gone. I can think more clearly. Love this
@@homesteadingwithPJ ☺️ thank you so much!! I have been eating all the eggs you mentioned. And just this week I finished a crate of the pasture raised. Amazing to see how this has grown. I’ve been carnivore for 7 years and when I started it was pretty much just a fringe movement. Shawn Baker was only posting videos of himself rowing and hadn’t started his company. One tip you kind of touched on that is extremely helpful, especially to people starting out, is having precooked foods ready at all times. If you’re hungry the thought of having to wait a half hour while you cook something can be enough for people to reach for something else. I always had a plate of chicken in the fridge to heat up at a moments notice. Anyway, good luck. After a certain length of time the other stuff doesn’t even look like food anymore.
That is so true, I was at a club yesterday and watching what other people were eating and it was like watching a strange movie. Their food wasn't real food, it looked like a concoction of stuff, but not good food.
I am only on my third day. I cooked a lot of meat, and then I refrigerate it and warm up a little bit at a time when I am hungry. My daughter asked me why I was cooking tons of hamburger patties. 😂
They had cake at an event I went to. I took a piece and pretended to eat it. Then I snuck it in the trash when no one was looking. I did that because when I tell people that I am not eating sweets, etc., they seem to pressure me more to eat it. Not ready to explain yet that I am eating carnivore. I will let them know when they see results and start asking what I am doing.
I started Keto 2 years ago but it became a crutch as I tried to make substitutes for carb dishes and sweets. Went carnivore 6 months ago; what a world of difference. Your tips are excellent! I binge watch carnivore videos for knowledge and motivation.
I did carnivore from the beginning but I did try to make a few dishes the first 2 weeks that were really just replacing carbs. In the first three days that’s all it took for me to lose all my cravings of carbs. I have kids eating bread all over the place in this house. I got a husband with a serious sweet tooth and none of it interest me. It’s incredible.
Incredibly good and accurate wrap up you have provided here. As a 220 day plus carnivore, you have summarised so much valuable advice in a short , to the point video. Well done 👏
Great video! I'm about 60 days in of carnivore, the last 10 days have been absolute zero carb. And I will never look back! Healed my GERD, lost a bunch of unnecessary weight, I feel like a superhuman most days. I'll be sharing this video with my friends who want to start carnivore.
If you don’t have electrolytes, just drink straight salt water. It’s yucky, but it works like a charm that first week or two if you suddenly feel like a rag doll. All of the advice in this video is very good. Also they say if you have a craving, eat some fat, like maybe a bite of butter. I also used pork rinds the first two weeks for when I had a craving for crunch. (That is an issue I had with my food addiction-wanting to crunch). And watch tons of inspirational carnivore videos!! My first one was Ferrigno Freedom. His journey of what happened over three years convinced me.
Thank you so much for this - it's very real, down to earth and relatable. Definitely took some of the intimidation out of getting started - thank you again!!! ^_^
This was a great video! I did keto for about two years and felt great; reversed my type II diabetes, lowered my blood pressure, got off all my RXs, lost 100lbs.... Then I had a major life change and fell off for about six months. Fifty pounds came back, bloodbpressure atarted to rise, still no T2D - yet. Just came back to keto two weeks ago and I am slowly transitioning it to Ketovore...I've already dropped 8lbs and can feel my lo-carb superpowers slowly returning! I'm saving your video to refresh my memory from time to time. Thanks for sharing!
This is the first time I've watched any video related to food or nutrition and been impressed with the advice. Even just buying meats you like is genuinely great advice for any diet, to make it work for you, but we never hear it. Really practical and form personal experience and not theory
Thank you PJ. This video is one of the best videos out there for ppl like myself who are starting the carnivore diet. Starting carnivore due to being in menopause! Your tips have helped tremendously!
I agree regarding carb cravings....I'm just starting to get over thinking of fruit, chocolate and bread all the time. I'm starting to feel more content. I'm feeling much! calmer. I've stopped dairy because I was definitely getting hooked on double cream and cheese...😢 as a result, my skin is tightening and getting somehow clearer. I've just dropped tea, as well. Am planning to stay off tea for a few months. And yes, am taking magnesium, which has helped a lot! Good talk, thank you.
Wow! Thanks for that. I have been carnivore for a few years - it wasn't hard, just a slide in from keto, but I love resources to give to people who are starting out, and this is the best!
I would recommend weaning yourself off of carbs over at least a 30 day period. I eat relatively low carb for several years before I went lower carb and then keto and now I’m almost carnivore. So it was a very very slow process. I never got any kind of “keto flu“. I’ve been eating no more than 20 g of carbs a day for five years and usually less than 10 for the last year and I love it. I feel amazing , I’m never hungry , and cooking couldn’t be easier.
Very helpful! I changed my life physically in my late 50's a few years ago going meat-heavy clean KETO with Intermittent fasting and feel amazing. Lost a 100 lbs. Gained some of it back, but it's mostly muscle due to strength training after I lost the weight. I have been cheating a lot the last 6 months and maybe a strict stretch of Carnivore is the way to go. Feel like I can do even better than I already have done. Thanks again for the tips!
Except for my being in my early 60s our stories are remarkably similar. I'm returning to keto after a six month break (long story) and slowly transitioning that to a ketovore diet. Keep fighting the good fight.
This nice thing about carnivore, is that so long as you're not cheating, short carnivore sprints are great! You sound like you know what you're doing when you're not on carnivore, so a 30-day (or whatever) carnivore sprint could be a helpful reset!
I have to say you are the first to truly ‘from what I can tell’ you are for real telling it like it is. Which is a great pleasure. Information I can actually put my teeth in. Other than having someone tell you something that you’re guessing is that exactly true. So thank you for being straight forward. I’m looking forward to following you. Keep up the great videos.
most of my days i eat beef butter bacon and eggs, just with salt. when i eat ground beef i add some pepper and grlic powder, i cant stand the taste really without it. i fast 2 days a week and i'm feeling great. but yes, i also do sometimes eat some chorizo sausage instead of bacon to my eggs or cut down hot dogs, but that's like maybe 2 times the last 2 weeks. i'm currently feeling amazing and i want to stick with it.
lol "i can't stand the taste without it" yeah exactly. that should tell you everything you need to know. but we are tricked into ignoring our instincts.
oh look, it’s Jimmy. AGAIN. Making zero progress with his comments. But I’m sure he feels better. I never knew a vegan could vibrate at a low level. Weird. @jimmyblaze
You have good points. I never had any difficulty starting and I never looked back. I did start by eating beef, chicken, pork (bacon too) eggs and of course sea food., Eventually I stopped chicken after about 6 mo's. I eat an assortment of beef and also grind my own ground beef to avoid the dyes and cellulose the store bought has in it. Joyfully though I can report, I've never had cravings for anything. However, I'm extra careful now to avoid anything that would/will have sugar in it. If it does, I get sick in my stomach . Very understood, everyone is different ...Rock on
Just found your video and you are so funny, love it. Especially when you talk about hemeroids, and constipation very real problems that people have or get that really do cause problems. I have had both and I can relate. As a matter of fact, I went on the carnivore because I had a multitude of problems but the worst was gut issues. And I recently found out I have diverticulosis. I hope that carnivore will eventually heal me for that. And don't stop talking about these issues that people get but most don't want to talk about it. By the way, I have been on carnivore now for 6 months on March 1st, 2024. No more gut issues except for the diverticulosis.
NICELY ENCAPSULATED! In 11 minutes, you've told the story well! I've shared this with friends, and on my Nextdoor Group, locally. I have a CZcams channel, and so does my husband Ribeye Ranger (Jim). ALL THE BEST TO YOU! We're both subscribed!
You're a carnivó pimp! Excellent info a lot of same things I have ended discovering. My next step is to start doing with some of these ranches outside of my city in North Cackalacky.
This is a fantastic video. I have been off and on carnivore and I hope to stick to it this time with your tips. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
LITERALLY the best video I have watched in all my years dabbling with keto and Carnivore. You have motivated me to go fully back into carnivore and not just very low carb.
I really appreciate how you gave tips on starting the carnivore diet. This diet is very hard in the beginning. This is the first video that I've seen that validated that, so thank you!!
Interesting what you said about being tired in the beginning. I find it impossible to fall asleep on carnivore. But I can manage off 4 hours of sleep on carnivore.
I too slept just 4-5 hours for the first six months. Now I have seven hours of the deepest most restful sleep. I eat 1-2 tablespoons of butter before bed. Sometimes I melt butter in hot water to sip in the evening. The fat levels out blood sugar so you sleep longer.
@maritaberndt6200 I don't know why you personally are still tired after a couple months, but for me I found I wasn't getting enough electrolytes daily. I started to feel better more often when I uped the amount of electrolytes. I buy and take electrolytes in pill form, so the rest of the day I just salt my food to my liking. For my budget LMNT was too expensive for me. So stay hydrated throughtout the day and up your electrolytes daily, hopefully that is all it is for you.
@@maritaberndt6200 been carnivore for several months, it can take a few months to get your body healed so that the tiredness isn't there anymore, hang in there! It's worth it! (when you need to rest, don't feel guilty, do it)
I like how your points are short and to the point! I haven't started the carnivore diet yet; I'm getting all the information before I make the commitment. Why do I want to do the carnivore diet? For my health, and weight loss. My health issues are rooted in my being over weight and my age. Once I decide to start on the diet, I want to stay with with it.
Wow awesome . U hit on every question I had or thought of. I'm still struggling with reverse sear... seems to overcook everytime. Lol. But other than that I'm close enough to my target. Anywhoo. Thank you. I will be looking at more of your videos
Just found this video after watching another carnivore channel ( i follow several ).and i really enjoyed your video. Very well balanced. I have liked and subscribed.
If you aren't buying processed and boxed foods and an entire pantry of canned goods you can. Eating carnivoure is cheap when you factor in that you no longer need to buy any of the other things you have been buying for your whole life. The exception to this is if there is someone else in the hosehold who is not doing this diet and then yes, you have the expense of both.

So it was a very very slow process. I never got any kind of “keto flu“. I’ve been eating no more than 20 g of carbs a day for five years and usually less than 10 for the last year and I love it. I feel amazing , I’m never hungry , and cooking couldn’t be easier.
Thank you. Really helps ❤
Thank you for this helpful video. And, here we go! 😀
Today is day 34 for me. Thank you for all the great ideas and advice!
Love the way you explain the process
Love good practical tips. Great video.
This is a phenominal video!!! Thank you. Short sweet and informative with practical solutions. Love it. ❤️
I am sad, I have found that garlic powder doesn’t agree with me. Shame because it makes so many things more palatable!
lol "i can't stand the taste without it" yeah exactly.
that should tell you everything you need to know. but we are tricked into ignoring our instincts.
@@mctrustsnoone3781 Have you tried Cumin powder? It makes a big difference for me. I do love my burger though.
@@cindyann5841 I have not tried cumin, but I’d be happy to give it a go. Thank you for the suggestion 😊
oh look, it’s Jimmy. AGAIN. Making zero progress with his comments. But I’m sure he feels better. I never knew a vegan could vibrate at a low level. Weird. @jimmyblaze
Wow, great video really liked all the tips!
Great testimony and great down to earth advice with a low threshold.
Thanks man! solid advice
Great video, bro! Thanks a lot!

I needed this video, getting back on the wagon. Thank you 🤗
Nice, you got this!
Thank you for being practical. No hype. I am day on day 30 and I know I am not perfect. Good info and thanks.
Thank you for this video 👍🏼
You're a carnivó pimp! Excellent info a lot of same things I have ended discovering. My next step is to start doing with some of these ranches outside of my city in North Cackalacky.
This is a fantastic video. I have been off and on carnivore and I hope to stick to it this time with your tips. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
Good luck!
I just found you PJ. Subscribed and very much looking forward to the rest of your CZcams videos.
Thanks! Welcome to the channel!
Like the content man. Very easy to get confused with the amount of carnivore influencers out there now. Good that you keep it quick and simple!
I fully agree!!👍
Terrific insights and reminders, thank you! I’m 3 months in and needed to hear all of this in one sitting!
Congrats on getting to 3 months! That's a big accomplishment!
And thanks for the kind words!
Also 3 months in...reaching out to support you and similar others out there.....lost about 8kg+...health markersTBC....
This is a great, practical video!!
Great video and great advice. I hope everyone finds healing as I have with this lifestyle.
Thanks for the positive comment!
Yes, i agree ❤
LITERALLY the best video I have watched in all my years dabbling with keto and Carnivore.
You have motivated me to go fully back into carnivore and not just very low carb.
Wow, so cool! Thanks for sharing! These kind of comments make my day!
This was excellent!!! One of the best videos out there.
Thank you!
Well done! I so love concise content that moves along at fast pace! Like "The Terminator" said "I'll be back!"
That's me. The terminator of Carnivore!
I really appreciate how you gave tips on starting the carnivore diet. This diet is very hard in the beginning. This is the first video that I've seen that validated that, so thank you!!
Thanks! The diet is so hard in the beginning, you're right. It's not so bad now but I remember the beginning! Good luck on your health journey!
Thank you for this!
Such great advice!
Thanks for this!
As a Carnivore Newbie, this was most helpful,… The Organic reference was surprising, although very comforting on my limited budget 🙏🏼
Interesting what you said about being tired in the beginning. I find it impossible to fall asleep on carnivore. But I can manage off 4 hours of sleep on carnivore.
I'm still tired a lot after 2 months..
I too slept just 4-5 hours for the first six months. Now I have seven hours of the deepest most restful sleep. I eat 1-2 tablespoons of butter before bed. Sometimes I melt butter in hot water to sip in the evening. The fat levels out blood sugar so you sleep longer.
Thanks for the suggestion. I may try that!
(when you need to rest, don't feel guilty, do it)
Been carnivore for 2 and a half months. Great video with great tips! Thank you 👍
I like how your points are short and to the point! I haven't started the carnivore diet yet; I'm getting all the information before I make the commitment. Why do I want to do the carnivore diet? For my health, and weight loss. My health issues are rooted in my being over weight and my age. Once I decide to start on the diet, I want to stay with with it.
I love watching you!! You have a great sense of humor.. I love carnivore
Best advice ever. Thank you.
Awesome video!!! Thank you!!!
👍👍👊👏👏👏👏
Excellent!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the kind words. Trying to give a balanced perspective.
If I could afford ribeye steaks every day I would be so happy.
Chuck is the poor man’s ribeye
If you aren't buying processed and boxed foods and an entire pantry of canned goods you can. Eating carnivoure is cheap when you factor in that you no longer need to buy any of the other things you have been buying for your whole life. The exception to this is if there is someone else in the hosehold who is not doing this diet and then yes, you have the expense of both.
@@WayneRogersOutdoors I also have another problem I am unable to stand and cook. I should have mentioned that I am handicapped, withouit help. So I eat whatever is easiest to put in my microwave, sadly.
@xScooterAZx I do my steaks in the air fryer and they turn out good enough for me
@@Wfwi Still, with the price of steak these days it is rough to buty30 steaks to have one a day. But I do like the idea of the air fryer. Thanks for the reminder as I do have one but tend to forget to use it. XD
Great advice and you are a good communicator.
Thanks for saying so, appreciate you taking the time to make this comment.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! I'm going to watch this everyday.
Whoa! That's dedication!
Great video! Thank you!!
Amazing video!! Thank you so much for the tips 😊
You're welcome! I hope it helps!
Really really great video for starters! Thanks for sharing!
That was the hope! Looks like you are doing a great job helping others in their health journeys too! Thanks for stopping by today!
Been carnivore 2 years. Your tips were really helpful. Always good to listen and retune what you are doing. Like your presentation too
Thanks!
I cruise in 80 days! I’ve had such success on Carnivore that I have no idea why I stopped. Starting again today!😊
Great advice thank you ❤
