Driveway Stain Removal Using Dawn Degreaser Liquid Detergent

I used dawn dishwashing degeaser liquid detergent on several stains in my driveway over a period of several days. My plans changed when it rained pretty hard for several days, and I wasn't able to rinse the dawn off the stains until the 3rd day. The final results were that dawn worked better on oil stains rather than on transmission fluid stains. The bigger transmission fluid stains might come out with several more applications of the dawn liquid detergent.

Try a can of coke on the stains. I heard that gets stains out of driveways.

First step try rubbing in Speedy Dry vigorously with a wooden block. Then rinse and use Dawn or Simple Green.

I've been using "Goof Off" but it's kinda expensive at $13 a bottle. I just used some Walmart brand dish soap on my driveway right now and scrubbed it with a push broom. I'm gonna let it sit for a few hours then rinse it off. We'll see if it works. It's for engine oil stains. There was a hole in my oil filter on my car.

I never spray it with water. I let it sit for days and let the rain do the rest of the work.

​@@dlp4183Sounds like you tried it the lazy man's way! 😅 Thinking that's what my guy would do! Lol 😂 Condo living is what we're doing and it's kinda embarrassing to have a big oil spot on the blacktop when he moves his vehicle! 😩 Hopefully we'll be able to get it out but I think I'll definitely invest in a hard scrub brush! 👍👍😊✌️
And... Fix that darn oil leak! 🤔 🤓 ✌️

Do I need to rince it after brushing with dawn soap, or just leave it overnight?

Rub it in with a stiff brush and let it set or power wash if you can...if that doesn't work use a heavy asphalt stain remover like...Zep. There is a difference between asphalt and concrete.

I wouldn't recommend on a sunny day.

Tried this with Dawn disgwashing soap. Let it set for 2 full days. Did absolutely nothing for me.

Did you rub it in with water and scrub....that's what I did and it came out.
