Rhythm. Where’s the vowel? 😮😊
@@itzlollygold9778😮
Lecture Notes:
1. Don't try to force the italian melody, let it come out naturally.
2. Vowels - a e i o u
3. Two sounds of e
i. Open e, like in egg
ii. Closed e, like in hay
Tip : The e which you're stressing is usually the open e. If e comes at the end then it is closed e. Accent are exceptions.
4. Two sounds of o
i. Open o, like in Cost
ii. Closed o, like in cozy
Tip: Stressing --> Open O.
Tip: ie --> open e (generally)
Tip : TRUST YOU GUT.
Good Luck.
(Question: What is Good luck in Italian?)
Ciao Aditya, thank you for sharing your notes with other students! Good luck in Italian is "Buona fortuna" 🤗🌟
Buona fortuna = good luck
Buona fortuna!
Man, i had so much problems with this but now, i finally undrstand! Thank you
@@italymadeeasyIs it preferred to say "in bocca al lupo" instead of buona fortuna?
knowing Spanish helps alot when learning Italian, they share alot of words in a way
True fact! Bravissimo🔥
knowing French helps alot when learning Italian, they share alot of words in a way
Really true, I’ve known Spanish basically my whole life and I understood a lot of basic words in Italian before really trying to learn it
me but its portuguese bc im brazilian, and i believe our pronunciation is much more alike to italian than a portuguese person but i could be wrong tho

I’m fluent in English, Spanish, and I suddenly developed an incredible desire to add Italian and French to my vocabulary and languages. I really appreciate you, Manu! I’m learning!!
and we appreciate you, Angelica! We can't help with French, but we'd love to assist you every step of the way in your journey to learn Italian 💕
I am a native speaker of English and Spanish. I want to learn to pronounce Italian so I can learn to sing light opera sings in Italian correctly. I tried to learn French but I kept using my Mexican accent so I gave it up :)
I guess it's easier for me to pronounce words in Italian correctly because English is not my native language. In my native language, which is Azerbaijani, we also pronounce the words the way we write them💃🏻🇦🇿🇮🇹
I speak Duch, French, English, German and Spanish and it seams much easier to learn Italian. In every language you can find something that’s the same.
Of course! The more languages you speak, the more similarities - and differences - you can find. We hope you can soon add "Italian" to the list of languages you speak! Welcome!
That's amazing! I only know Spanish and English so far but I'm trying hard to learn more languages, if you don't mind could you give some tips to learn other languages? Thank you!
Guess they didn’t teach you how to write dutch though 😂😂
Grazie Manu, I have Italian citizenship as my parents are from Italy but I was never taught how to speak it and my parents aren’t able to teach me well so I’ve came to you and so far in the first 3 lessons you’ve helped a lot and I also watched some QVC Italia and I recognized some words from duolingo learning. You make Italian easy and fun to learn. Grazie e buona giornata!
I'm Brazilian living in the UK and learning Italian through English to spend my holidays in Italy. Thanks for sharing. Ciao amico.
Great and well taught, I love Italy and tried a lot to learn Italian, your channel has made it easy. Thank you .
grazie mille!!
So grateful I found you.
Great course so far! I appreciate the explanations ^-^ Grazie mille
I love this channel. I’ve been trying so hard with Dualingo but this is so much more engaging 😊
Hi Emanuele, thank you for these amazing lessons. My Italian is growing daily.
You are making this fun and I learning already. Thanks for tips on active and passive immersion. Mille grazie
Grazie a te for being here with us, stay tuned more is about to come! ❤
I like the introduction. It give me more understanding how i should be learning. It will help me during the process of learning. Grazie mille! ❤
You’re such a great teacher! Thank you for these lessons!!!
Thank you Amy for your support, we hope this mini-course will help you! ❤️
Thank you for your lessons. I started with Duolingo but I am ready to dig up more and finally be fluent. I hope it will be easier for me since I am in French which is my mother tongue.
You can do it! 🤗💯
3 lessons in and I looooove your method of teaching!!!!!
Grazie Federico! We are happy to help ❤
molto grazie
Great stuff.
A different style teaching from the established norms, but one that’s very appealing. Just discovered your channel and have subsequently subscribed. The most difficult aspect of Latin languages from an English perspective is the masculine and feminine which we don’t have in English!
Thank you! At first, it's shocking, we understand, but after a while it will become something spontaneous to give gender to everything 😂💪
Grazie Manu! I was so excited and encouraged by your enthusiasm that I watched the first 3 lessons in one day :) I also have QVC Italia on another tab!
Perfetto! We work exactly for this, to create enthusiasm, and we are glad we made it! 😍
This is fun 😊
Thanks a lot
I appreciate and love your smile Manu. Thank you for all you do.
🤗 thank you, Gabriel!
I'm only 13 and I know 3 languages which in my family isn't enough so I'm here to try italian bc I like the country and I wanna know how to speak italian before next year when i travel to italy so I'm thankful for this course and I will be using it and not give up
Ik that this course won't make me fluently italian but I'll be thankful for this teaching me just a little italian

We are glad to hear this! Enojy the course, thank you!
Thank you so much for starting from the beginning. 👍
Ciao! Thank YOU for being here with us 😄
Molte Grazie 🙏
Prego! We are happy to have you on board 😍
I LOVE your lessons. You explain everything so well. I especially like when you put the words on the screen in red and black. That is SO helpful! When looking at a word how do you know which syllable the accent goes on?
Ciao Kim! We are so glad you enjoy our lessons 🥰 in Italian, the position of the accent is flexible. Most of the times, the accent is on the second-to-last syllable, but it really varies word by word. We can only advice you to keep listening and practising and you'll start getting a feeling for the accent position 💪
I have started to watch these videos and i have to say a grande grazie para the knowledge to understand the vowels, it has really helped my pronunciation when trying to speak. Grazie, grazie, grazie, 🥂👍
Wonderful! We are glad you found our course for beginners useful, stay tuned for more interesting videos! Thank you ❤

Thank you so much 🙏🏻 for having recommended QVC. I love watching the shopping channel in Canada, so I feel right at home. And I’m happy to say that I understand more than I thought I would… Thank you 😊 again…
Thank you, Debora! We are glad you are enjoying it🥰
A very important and useful video. Every learner of Italian should view it.
To Americans learning Italian I want to say this, though. Watch the shape of his mouth when he is demonstrating the various sounds. For example, how he smiles when he utters the closed "e" sound and how his mouth is rounded when he utters the open "e" sound. Put your mouth in the right shape and hold it there while you speak the vowel. If you do that it will help you get an "italian" sound vs "American trying to speak Italian."
Fantastico David! Thank you for sharing your suggestions 😍
im greek and i always wanted to learn italian since i was little! this chanel really helps me with learning this language and i have to say you do a really great job! it is true it's a pretty easy language, but it is helpfull the knowledge of english as well for some words!

@@italymadeeasyGrazie! 🥰
The pronounce is very similar(actually it's basically the same) to Georgian. We literally have same vowels and as Georgian it's pretty easy for me to catch up! Thank you for your wonderful lessons!
Wow, very interesting! Thank you for your comment and best of luck in your journey to learn Italian! 🤩
it is also pretty much the same as romanian, so its really easy
For me (a slovenian speaker) who has been enjoying the "primorska" accent (the region of slovenia next to italy), and who knows a few basic words already, .. its really interesting to see how our languages interact, for example in Trieste and Gorizia.
Yes, this is really interesting🥰
Oh my goodness, even "where is the post office?" in Italian sounds like a very beautiful melody to my ears. And it's not just a melody, it melts my heart!:-) I simply ADORE italian, and I could listen to it for hours even being unable to understand a mere word!
While my brain isn't able to decode the meaning of the language so far, my soul and spirit react to it in the same way as when/if something extremely pleasant (like a bouquet of beautiful flowers) is being given to me. :-)
That is such a beautiful thought 💖 grazie mille for sharing it with us!
My favorite part:
“Excuse me. Do you know where the post office is?” 🎉🎉🎉
My Italian grandfather passed away before I was born, so I never had an opportunity to learn the language. Your videos are helping me to reconnect with my roots! As an educator myself, I have to say that you are an excellent instructor!
Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your commitment to learn Italian to reconnect with your roots... it's a long journey, but worth it! Best of luck 💪🤩
One of the easiest ways in learning a language is simply exposing yourself to it. Even if you don’t understand some words, just the repetition in hearing it is helpful.
Esatto Stephen! That's the right spirit!
@@italymadeeasy Grazie Mille Manu 💚🤍❤️
I speak French and Portuguese and I'm now beginning to learn Italian. I didn't learn French or Portuguese in a formal setting like at school or university; I picked them up whilst living there and with a lot of help from my friends. This really helped me because i realised when I was trying to read or practice Italian words I was pronouncing a lot of words incorrectly. I noticed when I was trying to pronounce some words I was saying them with a Portuguese accent coming through by stressing the last syllable of the words.
Thanks, great channel.
ciao Iain, thank you for sharing you experience with us! Best of luck learning Italian, we are here to help 🤗
Grazie, per "being" culturalmente sensibile.
Grazie a te for being here with us! ❤
Thanks a lot emanuale, great efforts, i am learning from you. Love from india
It's so nice to hear that! ♥️💪🇮🇹
Speaking French is helpful as well.
You're totally right, Julie!💪😍
as a orpera singer is so true
Helps when you like the teacher ❤
Thank you for your kind feedback 🥰
Thanks very sir. I'm new in Italy and I want to learn Italian language very fast.thanks
You are welcome! We will make you fluent in no time 🤗💯
As a swede I have advantages to! 😃 We have the same sounds for theese vowels. And we also have the R-sound. At least if you don’t come from some parts in the south of Sweden like Småland or Skåne. 😁 Å is btw the same as the Italian closed O. 😊
Meraviglioso! 💪💪🤓
I'm Brazilian, and I realized that Portuguese and Spanish are very similar to Italian, and you explaining that in English there are similarities and I speak English relatively well, it means that in theory I will learn with certain ease. My first day studying Italian let's see how far I go.
And by the way, congratulations for the class, very didactic.
You're right, Jose! There are similarities between Portuguese, Spanish and Italian. Thank you to be here! A presto🥰
@@italymadeeasy”Thank you for being here.”
Wow. One thing i really love about being a spanish speaker is how easily it is for me to pronounce Italian vowels but I will admit I need to look out for the O. Some words like Poco are spelled the same in spanish and mean the same thing. But spanish has closed Os while italian has open O and closed.
The vowels are same as Japanese language! I learned casual speaking for Japanese Language. Now Italiano😊 my goal this years as my 6th speakable language
After lesson one yesterday I was listening to Italian and I heard what I thought was two different sounds for the vowel E . It drove me CRAZY . I thought maybe the speakers were either sloppy or they came from different parts of Italy. Thank you Manu for pointing this out .
I'm gonna me melodious 😄🥳
ottima. thank you for sharing. but a little difficult to know when we speak open O or close O . i will try . thank you again,
I love your explanation of relationship between English and Italiano. It makes sense to me and enhance my ability of learning Italiano. I am fluent in Chinese, English, Japanese and some Russian and Spanish. Love Italian food, culture, people and wine!!
❤️ grazie, Sarah Lin!
Same in Spanish
The sounds is the same with Uzbek language that's why it is really easy to learn Italian for Uzbeks too
Love how he’s using his hands a lot while talking. Very Italian lol

Your instruction is very good. It's all coming back. I look forward to my upcoming trip to Calabria, and hope that I can speak a little bit of Italian. At least the Italians appreciate you trying to speak the language, not like the french, who don't even accept French Canadian. I'm sure you understand.
Ciao Amichi (spelling?).

Are there similar words in italian with different meaning because they are pronounced differently?
