    This video is fantastic! I've watched so many "beginners" tufting videos that have very poorly explained all of the basics but this is the first one I've seen that's properly gone into detail about what to do and what not to do and explaining all the possible problems you can have. So thank you so much!

      @@Tuftinglove how to calculate tufting yarn consumption please

    • @Tuftinglove
      @Tuftinglove  Před 2 lety

      @@mmanzoor8667 That's a big question :) This depends on your gun, loop or cut and pile height. as well as how neat and close or wide you tuft. So there is no general answer for this. We have had as little as 1,5kg per sqm up until 2,5kg per sqm. We will soon do accurate squares in different pile heights with different guns so we can answer this exactly. at the moment we can't. I'm very sorry.
      Also it will not be the same for wool, acrylic and cotton since these all have different weights.
      Best is to always measure and weigh your rugs and get a feel of it with the way you work.

      Try threading multiple threads if the hole is to small for this you can adjust the shutter strip that is just underneath the needle by loosening the front black screw on the top white moving block, close the hole a bit and tighten it back.

      If you wanna have it as fluffy as it can get, you wanna go to the highest pileheight your machine is able to tuft, the longer the fluffs the softer and fluffier the rug gan get.

    Any way you can show us about proper PSI settings for both the Gun and the compressor?

    • @Tuftinglove
      @Tuftinglove  Před 2 lety +1

      I guess you are talking about the AK-III? The compressor should be on 8bar constant, especially when you are tufting with thicker yarn. You don't need to make any adjustments on the gun itself.

    • @thatrudyguy
      @thatrudyguy Před 2 lety

      @@Tuftinglove yeah I have an Ak-iii and there is a psi adjustment gauge that comes with the gun and then there is the actual PSI on the compressor. I have no clue what to set them at. I’m wasting so much yarn compared to everyone I see online and no one on CZcams is talking about these pneumatic tufting guns other than you and maybe one other person 🥲

    • @Tuftinglove
      @Tuftinglove  Před 2 lety

      @@thatrudyguy where did you order? Ours don't come with an psi adjustment gauge and I'm not sure why you would use one. You wanna have a constant 8 bar from the compressor to the gun. You don't need another gauge in-between. Thinner yarn will be possible with 6-7bar as well but 8 bar will make you a happy tufter all the way. :)

    • @Tuftinglove
      @Tuftinglove  Před 2 lety

      You can use very different thicknesses. As long as it fits through the needle you are fine. If you have thinner Yarn you can fill the hole of the needle with multiple strands. You want it to stay in and not slip out super easy but be able to move smoothly. The one I used there was between 13-16 WPI if I remember right.

    Why are there lines on your cloth? Wouldn’t it be easier with no lines?

    • @Tuftinglove
      @Tuftinglove  Před 2 lety

      The lines are there every 50cm. And these are very very helpfull to stretch the cloth straight. the straighter the lines are, the more uniform the grid is, which makes it much much easier to tuft. I'm talking about this more in the new version of this video here: czcams.com/video/xswLiriU7No/video.html
      There is no way the lines are making it more difficult. Or at least i never had that feeling. Why do you feel it makes it more difficult? I'm always happy to hear other opinions/experiences :)
