The adjustment of the seat of Corolla is the best in class, fine adjustments can be done with up and down instead but one pull up or down flexibility is at most for many drivers that drives a lot and do get breaks, naps in the car. All three cars are good but the hybrid tech just sends Corolla to the top. Best and only sensible choice for a new car right now

@tuboludo Yeah, 4th gen hybrid in Corolla is definitely the best reliability statistically and historically. Most 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen hybrid pass 200k miles without any glitch if maintained properly (fluid and filter change). Meanwhile, VW and Ford are plaque with clogged intake valves, fail injectors and fuel pumps, and offcourse DCT transmission from Getrag. But if you keep less than 5 years /100k miles, you did not see much problems in any of them. That is the reason why VW and Ford failed completely in North America market where people drives much more than European.

I think we all know that they will always put the VW golf in first place, why?, i dont know. I cant see how the vw golf is better than the corolla. I accept that the VW Golf is good in particular areas like the quality of the interior, the driving experience and the fact that it has the best space in the boot and the rear seats.
The corolla may not have as much room in the back seats and the boot may not be as big as in the golf, it is not too far behind, and it will be enough for most peoples needs.
The interior quality in the corolla has improved, not to the golfs level but it is certainly more well built than the Focus.
The amount of standard equipment you get in the corolla is excellent, you have to pay extra for it in the focus and golf.
Yes, maybe, the corolla isnt as fun to drive as the focus but not everybody wants that driving experience, they may want a calm and relaxing driving experiece which the corolla certainly delivers.
In my opinion, i think the corolla is the best car in this group as it has all the good points of the two other cars but there is one big differnece, toyotas reliability reputation is much better than vws and ford reliabilty reputation.

Really handy when you want to chill in your car and recline the seats right back (not when driving of course)...also my understanding is that although android auto and apple car play isn't offered currently with the corolla it is coming in a future update that can be added to the current car. I don't think the review is fair to the corolla. It is probably the best of the bunch. Why is no one talking about reliability? Vw is not trouble free and the same goes for the Ford. Also, why no one is mentioning residual value? If you decide to sell your Corolla, it will keep a lot more of its value when it hits the 5 year mark. The Ford loses most of its value by that time.

Arif Ramzan the car will probably be announced in March or so, then deliveries will begin during the 2nd half if the year I would imagine. The A3 hadn’t been spotted testing it near completion much so I would assume that would be a more safer option but again, the golf is better than most trim A3’s. If you are getting S Line then yeah it’s a great car. We have the A3 and Golf, the SE technik isn’t better than it though haha

However, judging by the barbed comments and huge percentage of downvotes, it looks like you just couldn't win with this one. It seems you p1ssed off all the Toyota and Ford fanboys by choosing a VW, then annoyed all the Hybrid and Diesel lovers by going for a Petrol! Damn - you were buggered before you even started!!! The golf is the UK;s best selling car, it’s pretty much the best car. Why? Because you can see any kind of person driving one, older people, parents, families, teenagers etc. Such a brilliant vehicle, it’s not really boring, very appealing compared to these new focus models with the basic grilles. Plus the interior is perfect, just owning one you will realise how easy it is to live with, you can use everything without looking at the temperature controls for example. We have had ours for 2 years, it’s been used mire than any other car, so much easier and even compared to a 7 series, it doesn’t feel like a huge step down. Hence we used the golf far more. And mind you, that’s a very appealing car

I have been using Auris Hybrid for a week (when my old Ford Focus MK2 petrol 100KM has an electrical issue). My opinion:
    - Auris with all the batteries was too heavy and had a lot of issue with absorbing major roughness,
    - the traction wasn't on the level of the Ford Focus MK2, but wasn't bad either,
    - the power and dynamic was OK, but the sound and the way the rotations of the engine has being adjusted was so annoying that hard to accept.
So if Corolla, than it has to be a traditional petrol, or maybe a fully electrical car in the future.
