I'm in Kansas zone 6 and it's overcast and 89*. I spent my morning fertilizing my annuals that are planted in pots. After that I tidied up my firepit area. My covered patio has a ceiling fan and I ate my lunch outside. It did sprinkle briefly. Garden on friends!

I'm in Colorado Springs. Today the high is supposed to be 95. This morning it was 57 and, after two weeks of being in the intense heat and humidity down South, I loved my morning walkabout to deadhead, weed, and see what changed while I was away. My Shasta Daisies are showing out the most in my garden right now. They love the sun and hot temps. I can cut enough for a beautiful bouquet without missing any of the blooms outdoors. Discovering your channel this spring has brought me so much peace and joy. I'm a middle school teacher and will miss my mornings in the garden when classes resume in a few weeks.

Hi, Linda. I don't mean to complain, but the last month or so the volume on your videos has been a lot lower than in the past. Even turned up full volume I can barely hear you, until an ad blasts me out. I am really impressed with how well your garden has turned out. I live and garden in zone 8a on the southern coast of Virginia. Very hot and humid. Fortunately, we are getting adequate rain, so much less watering than last year at this time. We still have August to go! Compared to other states in our beautiful country that are really suffering with extreme 100+ heat, we are hanging in there, mid 90’s. The high humidity here makes it unpleasant to be outside for any length of time. Thank you Linda, Stuart, and team for such great content! The new cottage garden is enchanting!

We live in coastal Virginia (7b) with temperatures in the mid 80s - low 90s with high humidity. We have had ample rain and this is a relief after our period of drought last year. Gardenias, hydrangeas, Rose of Sharon, hosta blooms and a variety of annuals are flowering. We had a cool spring and I loved working in our garden. This month I go outside at 6:30 a.m. in order to avoid the heat and humidity - back in by 8:00 a.m. I enjoy your videos and have learned so much by some wonderful gardeners on CZcams!

Zone 7B, North MS. It has been hot here for the past 4 days: mid to upper 90s and extremely high humidity. It was 102 when I got in my car to leave work at 5 yesterday afternoon. However, rain forecast for today and tomorrow with a sunny low of 64 and high of 87 on Sunday. What a gift! That's been the trend this summer. We will have 4 or 5 days of intense heat and humidity, but there has not been a 10 day outlook without some rain in the forecast. Of course, we still have August and the first half of September to get through, and that's when we've traditionally experienced our hottest and driest times. I hate August--I wish I could just hibernate. It is an endless time of dragging around the water hose and keeping plants from dying. And yet I will order my tulips in the upcoming days in order to get the colors and varieties I want.

Hi Linda I am in Canon City CO moved here in October from your beloved Salida CO, We had 2 days of 100 now back in the 90's and just had a short rain shower. The house I bought built in the 80's , the front yard was professionally landscaped and then not maintained , so I had Juniper shrubs so over grown you could hardly see the great stucco and rock house behind it, so after watching your videos for years I just topiaried them and created flower beds around them (spent Nov-April digging out buried granite landscape rock) and reused them. The backyard was concrete patio with a large area on each side in gravel, Now one side is my Zen garden and the other my Parterre garden. I am anxiously waiting for my Vater Garden Journal so I can record my Aha's and my mistakes for next year. Love your video's and watching the Cottage on the Hill become so beautiful !!

I live on the southern Oregon coast, 9b, and we are still sitting mostly in the high 60s. I'm thankful that we aren't having temps as high as so many of you are because, with our humidity, it would be horrible. So, I will be patient and hope that some warmer days are ahead for us. I know my garden would appreciate it. 🥀🌻 My dwarf rose Canna is only about 1 foot tall so far but my roses are gorgeous!

Zone 6b here in south central Kentucky. Its been in the 80s with a storm each day this week. Sun in the forecast for the next few days though! Praying it isn't block out by the haze from the Canadian wildfires. Slowing down my direct seeded zinnia growth. Very weird. Your grass by the street looks awesome!

Oh my, your garden has done so well!! And, I LOVE your window box! I live in Versailles, Ky. which is zone 6a and 6b. We have had a lot of rain, which has been really nice for all my container plants, but I gotta say, that even with lots of rain, the temps. have been hot and humid!! We are not in the 100's, but it has been a hotter summer for sure! I have had to water, even after an early morning rain, in the evenings! We are adding an addition on our house, so ALL my plants this year are in containers! Can't wait to do some landscaping this Fall! And as always, I am getting some GREAT ideas from watching you! Much love and blessings to you and Stewart...

    9b Scottsdale AZ. “It’s a dry heat” lol 😂 😂😂
Troubleshooting irrigation daily as these temps are deadly to our more tender plants. We do water our huge native saguaros, organ pipes and barrel cactus in the dead heat of summer. We water by hose approximately a one hour very slow stream on each of these huge desert giants. They appreciate it. Not necessary of course, but seems a kind thing to do. When the monsoons with rain finally come it is a relief to all!

Watching from New Zealand . We are in mid winter, temp right now is 13 Celsius, I think mis 50s for you guys overcast windy and rain forecast . I live in the North of the North Island, zone 10 on a wee hill so no frosts this year, just way way to much Rain. We have had so much rain this year we are already at the YEARS average of 1526mm , in your language over 60 inches , so think I may lose some plants like bedded Iris , and Dahlia which tend to rot when to wet in my heavy ground. Dahlia we don't have to lift as a rule ! By the way you have made such a difference to the look of your wee cottage, from Bland to Bang her I am ! So lovely to watch the transformation. I am looking forward to see it next spring and beyond when it's all bedded in and will look like its been there forever.

I usually wait until June 1st. My gamble was based on the excellent CZcams channels I subscribe to.
