Linda Smith-Davis, New England Fine Living❤
Style crush- Linda Vater
Me too! 😊
And me as well!!
Same here
Me, too! Also, Linda, is that Pegasus Begonia that is blooming behind you? If so, please share your secrets to get it to bloom. TY!
Who else gets excited when a Linda video pops up?
New England Fine Living\Linda Smith Davis, and you!
Ditto
My style crush is on Linda Smith Davis from New England Fine Living. Vintage, antiques, moody, beautiful colors, not minimal but not cluttered.
I love the CZcams channel Homeworthy. They tour different home and while many may not be my style , I really enjoy the love relationship people have with their homes. My favorite is Ruth McKeaney’s home Hillside Farm. It’s a love story of their family ...a wonderful, cozy home that I find beautiful. The episode is called A Pennsylvania Farm with rolling hills and a historic home. It’s a delightful tour and I think you’d enjoy watching it. I also believe she came out with a style book.
Linda, You are not only a gifted gardener, you are also a master wordsmith. I swear you could describe an old, ratty, white T-shirt with flair and appreciation. I am learning so much from you and just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your channel. You are a joy to watch. ❤️
Sorry for another comment but I just had time to finish this video. Arborists don't cut limbs off straight because it's bad for the health of the tree. A level cut will hold moisture and in time rot the tree. Arborists cut limbs off at an angle so rain water runs off and doesn't settle into the cut.
Yeah, I’ve heard that too. You could always add a wedge underneath the pot to level it out. That would protect the tree.
It is a very hard decision to pick just one designer crush, Linda, BUT Sarah Richardson has been a favorite of mine since "the olden days" when there was a Fine Living Channel on TV. Suzie Anderson Home (Australia) has such exquisite visual content on youtube that it is worth watching her channel. Really. And, her voice is so soothing it melts stress away.
I agree about Sarah as well. I have watched her for a very long time. ☺️🙏🏼🇦🇺🐨
I’m a huge Sarah Richardson fan too! Love her work!
Susie Anderson is my favourite interior stylist.
Also on my list ❤
I agree, Sarah Richardson is wonderful!
“But wait!” Was this as funny to anyone else? I thought it was so cute. You have a great sense of humor and playfulness Linda! ❤😂😂
Your terra cotta pots looks beautiful the way they are arranged and looks good between two trees. Great area for them!
Well now, I have always had " a crush " on Charlotte Moss, Bunny Williams, Carloyn Roehm. All have the best of taste not only interior but gardening as well.
Can we all agree that another of Linda's signature touches is the catchy theme music from all of her segments.
Bunny Williams
Style crush: my mother, whom I lost a little over three years ago at the age of 93. She was a wonderful example and influence throughout my life (even, looking back now, when I didn’t realize it, or want to realize it). She had a lovely and often unique sense of grace and style in everything she did, whether it be home decor, fashion, conversation, or just her presence in the room. I think of her almost every day, but not in a sad way any longer. I miss her, but I “see” her in more of my own style and sense now more than ever.
How sweet!
the the pouring of pumpkin color stacks is just lovely!
You could turn a terra cotta pot over to cover up clean out and then set another plant on top and incorporate it into to your stairs. Or spray paint it to blend in :)
My style crushes -- besides you, Linda, Bunny Williams and Martha Stewart. I think their styles transcend time and continue to inspire and motivate anyone of any age who is looking for a deep understanding of how home decor and gardening create a place that is balanced in elegance and livability.
I love the placement of your terra cotta pots!!! Your furniture and the fence and the blue grey tones of topiary’s have a very restful feeling!! Love seeing your back yard
I am also a follower of Janey from Dig, plant, water, repeat because she is in my zone 9B. She too, started from scratch like you have this year.
@@twilastout1670I’m a Janey fan too! 🍁🇨🇦
You are my style crush Linda. You manage to pull me out of the deepest darkness almost all the time and inspire me to do better be it mood gratitude clothing style or garden inspiration. Thank you
Ditto! I need to go shopping!
Style crush - Trinny Woodall so effortless; interior design - Sarah Richardson; cottage life - Linda Vater; gardening - Leslie Harris and LV 🎉
Cover your terracotta pot display with a weather friendly cover, similar to a cover used for outdoor furniture. It might be custom, but with correct measurements and velcro or a couple of corner zippers, you could leave your pots in place all year round. A great investment of time and preservation. ❤
I was thinking the same. Something insulated. I agree, it would be so worth it.
The placement of the terra cotta pots on the bookshelf next to the fence is perfect! Accessable and good looking display. My style crush is my dear friend Joanie. She is an artist with a great sense of style and color. She has decorated her tiny home beautifully and created several garden rooms and patios in her yard that offer beauty and serenity for visitors. She is a lovely person and good friend.
This was such a fun time together with 2 of my style crushes, and on my birthday! Linda and Leah, you made my day! Stewart you always chime at just the right moment. Everything looks fantastic, Linda! At first I was not sure about the "throw rugs" but now wish I had them instead of my flagstone patio. They are so unique!
Leah could be your daughter, Linda! The backyard sure is looking elegant and sophisticated. btw-I added a terra-cotta theater to my garden this season because of YOU!! Thanks for all you share with us!
Style crush - Linda Smith Davis. And, you, of course!
You are so right about having a reliable person who will pickup the phone when you call. It requires both give and take, but especially since we live so far away from people/ loved ones, the phone has become our emotional lifeline! Thanks for bring it up.
I so appreciate your comments about the importance of friendships, always encouraging each of us to be a good friend and to enjoy the security of close friends. The entire video was so informative today. Thanks Linda, Leah and Stewart! Linda from NE ( turn the pots upside down or you're likely to befriend mice this winter; your shelf may be their new apartment building ! :)
My style crush is P Allen Smith and his amazing Moss Mountain Farm.
At the end of each of your videos, I find myself smiling. Thank you!
Linda, I am definitely getting the journal! However, I will cover it with waxed Paper to keep it pretty, water resistant, and can still see the beautiful design! Something my Grandmother taught me to do with books back in the 60"s.
Black table with holes would be a great potting table. Build wooden box underneath so dirt falls though to collect potting soil to reuse.
Placed on upper side of terra cotta pots. Kinda out of the way. Always neat!
I love Lone Fox's home designs and decor.
I love Carla Rockmore because she’s so over the top and makes it all look so Chic. Plus, I have never seen a more beautiful closet as hers. Please check it out.
I also love the way you dress and decorate because you do it with thrifted items and make them look so stylish. My favorite, most treasured items are all thrifted.
love Carla as well!
You are the Alexandra Stoddard of the 2020’s! ♥️
I'm in love with your terracotta pot display. I look forward to watching every viedo you make and copy your style every chance i get. Love you BIG Linda you have such an amazing eye for design.
Oh the back yard garden is beautiful!!!!🪴🌵🪴
I think that wrought iron table is the perfect height and size for a potting table, which you will need:))
My crush , Linda Vater, because of all the lovely home designs with all things from your travels and hunts in antique and thrift stores. Love all the great ideas of how to style all your finds. Thanks for inspiring me❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Linda. The backyard is really coming together. Would you consider these suggestions:
Make a potting area. Move the grey shed (with tools) next to the new pot shelves and put a potting table with shelving underneath for extra storage. Make that whole area cohesive as a potting station. You have the whole side fence and the space for a more organized, integrated area for 'plant work'.
Then create a complete service station (with fridge) under the window. Put in a cuboard that serves as a table for buffets, displays, drinks, etc., with closed shelves or drawers for easy access to dishes, glasses, silverware, tableware fabrics, plastic cups, plates, BBQ equipment etc. That whole area would look really nice with the living area and would be more functional.
How about moving the BBQ over to the service area. I'm sure you've checked, but the flames next to the A/C and electrical panels don't seem safe to me.
The terracotta planters arranged on the shelf between the two trees look great. Loving the pop of color to that area.
I found the podcast very interesting, thank you for sharing! You & your sister resemble one another visually, as well as voice modulation & phrases!
For a gardening lifestyle… Britain’s Sarah Raven! Linda, I am so glad you are to the “putzing” stage … it’s just the best! Enjoy! You’ve done the hard work and done it well! 💐
Hi Linda my name is Lisa Mendoza from Trinidad and Tobago. I love watching your channel. It is so amazing how you transform and develop your garden in such a short time. I just love watching you ❤❤
The hardscape part is just in harmony, so whatever Linda is decorating within, the outcome is pretty much coherent and looks so great 👍.
Always admire your humanity appeals by reminding everyone to support and help other people in times of difficulties and crises. Big hearted Linda ❤
The staging of the terracotta pots next to the fence looks nice, though I'd be afraid of our high winds breaking them. You are right, it will make working so easy and convenient.
Oh my look at that begonia😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🍁🍂🫶🏼
My style guru was Charles Faudree🌺
A Bird House Would also be darling on your Tree stump.
After you, my style crush is Brooke Giannetti of Patina Farm, Velvet and Linen.
Linda Vater and Plaids and Poppies
Plaids and Poppies property is amazing!
My style crush is a tv show i watched as a child. I now love the clothes that Samantha wore on the Bewitched tv show. And more recently since I found Linda Vater on utube --- i love your style in clothes & being in my early 60's it makes it even neater because you are also in your 60's.
I love shopping clothes at the thrift stores --- for never know what you will find & at reasonable prices. I often get complimented on my tops & they are almost always a thrift store find :D
Your videos are the first one that I watch in my CZcams lineup. Love ALL the content, however, Stewart does add a whimsical note to them. I refer to his "window reflection hand wave". Hi Stewart! Love the scarf, especially the "Hell YA!". Leah, I may have to borrow that.
Sadly he's passed away but Robert Kime. I also love Bunny Williams style
I learn a new word with every video from Linda. lol
Great Vocabulary!!😊😊
I see an Angle wing Begonia behind you. I just found out, when it stops putting out the larger blooms, you need to remove the spiral like blossoms, that are called the females. As soon as I did that, the big Male blooms came on fast.
I’m trying to visualize the spiral like blossoms. I’ve had them in the past but not this year. Thanks for this info!
Linda Vater😊. Your style has been my style forever
I would turn the saucers upside down so when it rains and freezes they don't crack.
A good idea for a botomless basket (like the one on your tree) would be to put it over the white plumbing pipe at the bottom of your back stairs. Or, any bottomless urn , etc...
I look forward to your videos! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and garden with us! ❤
Having a keen gardener for years since I can remember at the age of 2 trying to pick the flowers off the wallpaper in my mother's home . It cheers my heart there are CZcamsrs who share the same passions about plant care and the environment ..Thank you for giving us your followers so much inspiration..❤
I LOVE the shelf against the fence to display your terra cotta pot collection, it looks fabulous there! And the compost tumbler looks good where it is too. Maybe the table currently under the window could become a potting table? A potting table is one thing I do not have now but is on the short list for sure!
It’s so relaxing watching your show on Saturday 👍🏼I learn something every time about style or garden ideas👏🏼Lea is so cute & love her personality 🤩
I just found you..I see YOU as my new style Guru! Love everything you do!!!!
Linda. Your back yard looks great. You have done such a beautiful job decorating it. It looks so nice. Everything has come together so nicely.
Hi, Linda. Thank you for your video. Welcome. ❤
Ida George Garden Life is my garden style guru. She is so creative, her garden is just beautiful 😁🧑🌾👏
I have a style crush on you. Linda. From the house, garden, your dressing style, your flower arrangements. It has been a wonderful inspiration for me. I have incorporated many of your Christmas decor styles into my home.
Thank you for the inspiration.
My major style crush is James Farmer 😍
Good idea about finding/ having a reliable friend !
My style crush is the designer Bunny Williams 🥰
The terra-cotta shelf display is artistic and BRILLIANT. Your guests will be drawn to it.
You can relocate that metal table to my house, I just love the size of it and the two tiers! 😄 Your terra cotta display looks fantastic and draws the eye over to that area. Great idea to cut off that stump for a plant!
I love your terra cotta pot display! So fun to move about for visual seasonal interest.
Linda you, Paul James, Monty, P. Allen, and Martha have all been my inspiration.
Style crush-Nikol Johnson. Just love her!
Saw Stewart's hand! 🥰 I like these info vids. We love you & your enthusiasm Linda.
Understanding….this week I have been pondering justice and mercy. Love your sisters approach!
Greetings from zone 8b, Foley, AL. I ordered the Cooljob gloves (6 pack) and I love the substantial weight and flexibility of the glove. They are stretchy and just tight enough, but not too tight. I also got the leather palm gloves; to work with roses and plants with thorns. Stewart, you are a real catch, if you want to be caught; that’s all I’m saying. Leah, I think fate has blessed both you and Linda; grasp every nugget of knowledge Linda throws your way. Lastly, Linda, you are such a blessing to your followers; you illuminate our lives, minds and hearts every single day!
Love the shelves with your terra cotta collection. That's just what that area needed!
One think you could do is anchor it to the fence so it doesn't tip over if you have a hard rain and the ground shifts.
I love anything by Edith Wharton. I am reading Henry James’ A Portrait of a Lady now.
Hi Linda. I Love Love the shelf with the pots on it 💕💕💕👍. Great idea 💡
Yeah you took my suggestion! I am glad you decided to put them on the fence.
I’ve also used a cup holder stack where the rack has three levels to put cups on. I have also lined a walkway with.
Also you need to order some cord covers for your front room electrical cords.
Linda, I noticed that you have a cut off branch. I think its cedar next to your terracotta pot display. If you cut that straight you could use it as a plant stand/display.
Oops I forgot to tell you to use a paver as the base.
Tracy @Plaids and Poppies
Zone 8-I have a “style crush” on CZcams’s Garden Queen! Her garden pots design is “Baby”! She is fabulous at composition!
Not to mention her POTS COLLECTION!
Oh yes! The Garden Queen has the best container collection!
Yes I love her too !
The Terra cotta theater is a great idea, I’m new to these garden Chanel’s . I love Your style plus this other gal I watch. On CZcams her name is Janie Dig,Plant, water, repeat from California she also just moved and started over in a new canvas and transforming her yard as well.
Jill Sharp's home has been featured on the Quintessence youtube channel.
I was lucky enough to snag a beautiful wrought iron bakers rack to hold my terra cotta pots on my patio. Thank you for the inspiration to style it seasonally. ❤️ 🪴
I am not surprised that you have the same apron as I do our style is so much the same 🥰 you mentioned that apron in a previous tape I have that apron in all the shades I ware them according to the season if any of you have a World Market near you go get one they are the best have had my for years they look great wash great Thank you Linda
Hi Linda I just love your cottage garden and your home . My style crush is Around the house with Charlene, tfs ❤❤❤
your first dinner party should be with the people who helped you making your garden a reality, i dont know all their names but you know who i'm talking about...
Already made arrangements for a lunch gathering!
Style crushes-Linda Vater & Bunny Williams.
Love your terra cotta pot “display”. Great combination of style and function.
I also love anything blue gray, also anything chartreuse.
I always look forward to your videos. They bring me great joy and wonderful ideas. You are a blessing, so talented. Thx for sharing your wonderful skills and creativity.
Florida grandma-one of your biggest fans.
Your video is a breath of fresh cottage air. Excited to see how you've styled and organized your backyard.
Love the placement of the terra Cotta pots in the backyard! Perfect as a display of your collection of pots and a designated work area with a potting bench. Perfect!
You are one of my style crushes Linda. I have purchased more of the items you tell us about than I have any other. I am so grateful for the laundry room design as well. It is the perfect solution for my laundry room as well.
Hi Linda Leah and Stewart
I love how you are styling the back yard. Don't belittle yourself by saying that everyone has a signature style. I do believe you coined the phrase and it is rightfully attributed to you💕🌸🎈😄
You should cover that book shelf/ pot storage and wrap it up like a gift for Christmas and use corn stalks and acorn and pine cones etc to decorate it for fall. Just a thought happy cleaning and staging, and decorating.
Hi Linda! A suggestion would be to use the newly cleaned off table as a potting table by moving it closer to the pots and a bonus is that in the event of excess soil, it would fall through to the area below or catch in a bucket placed below on the lower shelf.
Definitely have a style crush on you!
The back yard is so cozy and welcoming.. Love your style in front and back
