  • Fasting - a practice as old as humanity; but today it’s a scary word equated with “starving”. Dada explains the different kinds of fasts and the extreme value of fasting for holistic health. He finally offers a simple but very effective fasting technique which you can do at home and stay on the road to perfect health for your entire life.

    The mantra at the end of the video is " Baba Nam Kevalam". Baba means "my most beloved One," Nam means "name of" or "to identify with," and Kevalam means "only." So the meaning of the mantra is "My most Beloved is the only One." You can find the full version of the recording here: • Video

    • @kth5077
      @kth5077 Před 4 lety +3

      Michael Motorcycle ...Cancer has always existed. It is caused by mutations that can occur when our cells divide. Most DNA "copying errors" are corrected by certain cell-mechanisms. Although these mechanisms are highly effective, sometimes an error goes unchanged. This leads to a mutation on the affected gene in the DNA of the new cells. Either the mutation is of no concern and has no effect on the cell, or it will kill the cell. These are the most likely scenarios. If one is unlucky, a bad mutation occurs that does not kill the new cells, but cause them to grow cancerous.
      This can always happen, but of course, chances are increased if one are exposed to things that will cause mutations more so than normal or interfere with the error correcting process. These are carcinogens (uv-light, tobacco smoke) or just from an unhealthy diet/lifestyle which causes your body (all the way down to cellular level) to not functioning properly.
      Scientist have estimated that only around 50% of all mutations leading to cancer are in fact caused by external carcinogenics.
      On a side note - occasionally, a mutation which do change the function of the affected gene will cause a positive change in the new cells. This is called evolution.

    • @garybryant7274
      @garybryant7274 Před 4 lety +10

      @UCifRpNWcik4M4NSQAJ1XXUw there are 2 types of dry fasting, soft and hard. In a soft dry fast you still take medications, brush your teeth, take showers and wash your hands. In a hard dry fast you have no contact with water at all. I tend to soft dry fast since I'm not all the way off of my blood pressure meds yet. I'm close but not all the way off. The Russians have done an incredible amount of studies on fasting. Unfortunately most of their findings have only been published in Cyrillic. There is a good amount in English, however. For instance, when a patient is water fasting they are pushed to VIGOROUSLY exercise for 3 hours per day. When a Russian says vigorous they mean just that. This is different from the way American Doctors ( very few, by the way ) who propose total bed rest. Which I considerv a huge mistake. The Russians do propose rest but not bedrest for dry fasting. I, on the other hand, when I do a 3 day dry fast, training normally on the first day, I cut my training by half the Second day and I rest on the 3rd day. This seems to work well for me so I'm recommending you find your own way. There's nothing wrong with resting. I've done 2, 3 day dry fasts and numerous single day dry fasts. Water fasting is better for longer term fasting. The most obvious benefit to dry fast is a more permanent weight loss. The body will take two hydrogen molecules from your fat stores and combine it with oxygen from breathing and make its own water. This effectively destroys the fat cell. In most weight loss programs the fat cells only shrink. That's why after the dieting most people gain all the weight back plus some more. You will still urinate when you dry fast. However, if you go 3 days your urine will get much darker. If you have kidney problems, and I do, you may want to do 1 day first, 2 days next and then 3 days. I make my own electrolyte water. I use magnesium, potassium chloride, redmond's real sat and after a dry fast, I add a little sodium bicarbonate. I use this water before and after dry fasting. I also use it coniniously during water fasting minus the sodium bicarbinate. This really helps the kidneys recover. Check out the snake diet channel here on CZcams. One last note, dry fasting for 3 days isn't for the faint of heart. You must exorcise extreme will power especially on the 3rd day. It's very tough. One day dry fasts are much easier and, as a bonus, the effects of any type of fasting are cummulative. In other words the body takes up where it left off depending on your diet. Some vegetarians do quite well and others like myself ( keto/carnivore ) have had excellent results. Good luck if you try it! Thanks for the question, Nasir! 👍

    • @garybryant7274
      @garybryant7274 Před 4 lety +1

      @Grace Aquila I'm on the second day of a water fast. On Sunday I plan on moving into a 3 day dry fast and then continuing the water fast. I'm thinking of switching back and forth, one week of water fasting followed by 3 days of dry fasting. I'm not sure how long I'm going to go but I need to make some bone broth when I get within a few days of breaking the fast. How you break an extended fast is as important as the fast itself. Since I only eat fat and meat I use bone broth. Good stuff! Good luck on your fast! You'll find meditation is a great addition to a fast. I think it's more profound in It's effects.

    • @garybryant7274
      @garybryant7274 Před 4 lety +2

      @Grace Aquila I eat 1 meal a day. Normally I fast 2 days a week, Tuesday's and Thursday's. Extended fasting is much more beneficial. I suggest you watch Dr Alan Goldhammer talks on you tube. He may be a vegan, poor soul, but he's solid on fasting. My suggestion is to be in ketosis before you start an extended fast. It's much easier. Also sneak up on it the first time with a 1 day fast. Then 2 days then 3 and once you get to day 4 you'll find you're not hungry. Also I would water fast the first time I did an extended fast. Dry fasts like a 3 day ( the record is 9 days I believe ) are not for the week of heart. All fasting takes discipline but dry fasting more so. When you have gone on a long fast for some time and you get hungry again, It's time to break the fast. I use increasing amounts of bone broth but you can use v8, juices and such. Just DON'T reintroduce solid food right of the bat. After about 3 days on the broth or whatever you're using you can stay on your drink and eat cottage cheese or any kind of soft food. It should take about a week to breal the fast and return to solid food. Good luck! Oh, the record for an extended water fast is 384 days.

    Amazing that I found this video just a few days after I started eating one meal a day at 4:30pm. This is somewhat less than a 24hr fast.
    I find no issue doing this, the hunger is actually sort of pleasant, because of the control I feel over the compulsion.
    I eat what I would have usually eaten for dinner and breakfast in succession, aiming for the same number of calories. I need to get a scale to track my weight so I don’t lose any.
    I noticed that other compulsive behaviours are *becoming* less.
    I noticed also that artificially sweet, salty, or greasy food is actually unpleasant to break the fast with.
    And I feel a stronger drive to become present and live life.
    Also I’m not tired after lunch, as I would usually be. My sleep has somewhat improved too, but that is poor for me due to the necessity in my life situation to wake up at intervals in the night.
    I’m actually quite amazed at what simply having an empty stomach does.
    I’m curious to try a 2 day water fast now.

    For fasting, watch Loren Lockman. For juice feasting, watch John Rose.

    I feel I am fairly healthy... I can say yes to four of the six ... but don't have good sleep and don't have good energy... I have done dry fasts a few times but no more than 36 hours at a time ... water fasting I have done up to 30 days... best experiences of my life! In my experience the best benefit comes after 21 days on water only.

    I have found eating one meal a day for me works best for my weight and overall health. I’m trying to get back on that routine again (society and having a family makes it difficult to fast or limit meals). I have never tried a dry fast so once I am back in my routine I will try that.

    I took once a 24 hour dry fast. Actually it's around 32 hours because let's say i eat this evening after sunset, then i go to sleep and tomorrow i won't drink and eat anything, go again to sleep and drink and eat in the next morning, the day after tomorrow. I had absolutely no difficulty ... this clip made me wonder if i should try it again.

    The main problem of today is we eat too much and too often. We have to reduce that obviously. But i have to say that a good dinner with fine wine, with someone you love, or among your best friends, is a real pleasure that's almost like God's gift. Well, guess God doesn't intend for us to have too much pleasure : - )

    I like intermittent fasting. Eating within a 6 hr period everyday. I find the daily fasting easier to do with the daily self programing to fast.
