    Great ...thanks ...the meditation I do with a burmese teacher, they do full lotus sits twice on a 10 day retreat ...first time 2 hours...2nd time 5 hours ...all very closely supervised and instructions throughout. Intense pain does come up, but you are instructed to watch the thoughts and not the body ...only the thoughts ...fear etc is common..... but the thoughts pass and some feel incredible peace in the heart/mind, despite a painful body......exercises are given at the end and everyone is always ok ...the results are remarkable ....one becomes more peaceful in life .........for some ...even if they were tortured, their minds would still be peaceful....
    full lotus sitting ...with the right guidance is extremely effective and powerful and well worth the effort .....

      Namaskar Jaanus, this is quite usual for beginners. You can try using a cushion under your backside. This should help the blood circulation. If you have subscribed to the online course, then there is another video which explains the practice of the kiirtan dance, lalita marmika, before meditation. Practicing this dance will solve your problem.

    Dada, you claim you are a tantrik. You a spiritual msn indeed, but you have some misconception.
    I am from Bengal India. This is the place where Tantra Sadhana started about 2000 years back, just after The Buddha. I recently watch a video of yours about Food.
    Bur it is of vedic concept. Tantrik sadhana do not restrict food. Indeed it was called pancha makar saDhana. One of the quickest way to awake Kundolini shakti.
    It is a worship of Mother God Kali.

    There is " not " a proper posture for meditation...meditation can be practiced in any position...standing...sitting..lying.. ( the sleeping buddha ) this should be the message for everybody.

    • @MeditationSteps
      @MeditationSteps  Před 4 lety +2

      Namaskar Antonio, Potentially meditation can be practiced in any position, but each position has a different effect on our minds. The meditation position is designed to keep the mind alert, yet relaxed. If we are standing, our mind is alert, but not so relaxed.. If we are lying down, our mind is very relaxed, but there is good chance that we may fall asleep. Also, the meditation posture is designed to reduce our senses, which distract our minds in meditation.

    • @antoniodomene
      @antoniodomene Před 4 lety +2

      @@MeditationSteps I agree with you but with this statement " in any position " you will open the door to oldest people to meditate in accordance with their/our physical capabilities.

    • @MeditationSteps
      @MeditationSteps  Před 4 lety +4

      @@antoniodomene I certainly agree with that and do teach this to our senior students. Sitting in a chair or with your back against the wall is very much acceptable if someone cannot sit in lotus or half lotus posture comfortably. Thanks

      "There is " not " a proper posture for meditation ..."
      Absolutely agree. I always meditate while lying on my back. Total relaxation. Total peace. I am able to attain the blissful feeling that I don't have a body at all. Sure, I fall asleep maybe once a month (and reawaken quickly) but I have heard of people using the lotus position who fall asleep, too. One path does not fit all. Peace!

    1 min. into this video and i must say bullshit again! try to force any posture on your body and you will have serious health issues very soon. stable and comfortable, that is asana according to Patanjali. padmasana is great if your body is comfortable in this posture. in India, the floor is warm, so they use to sit on the floor rather than on chairs. so the body adjusts, bone structure adjusts from the very early age. and yes, it is a great posture for preserving and accumulating energy, but it is not the only posture and sure as hell, it is not the only right posture for everybody. in fact, it can be very harmful to your hip joints and your knee joints. so please, don't try to force yourself into any kind of posture, rather go and explore, listen to your body and find out your own perfect posture for you. sitting on the chair with your spine straight might be the right posture for you, even lying down on the floor, if you can stay awake and alert might be a perfect posture for you. don't listen to any "guru", don't listen to me, listen to your body and your instinct. explore and you will find out.

      10:15 "please be very conscious, be very much aware, and careful how you do it. Do not try to achieve quick results because you may hurt your body if you are not careful. Listen to your body and feel..."
      This is important, try watching the full video next time before casting judgment. Beyond the surface levels of self-discipline, you learn that judgement itself is unimportant and nothing in life is without consideration.
