For anyone who was confused about this (including Drew, apparently), the USS Wisconsin was 1 of the 4 Iowa-class Battleships launched by the US. Their main guns had a diameter of 406mm (16 inches) and had a firing range of roughly 32.19 kilometers (20 miles). Just ONE shell could weigh roughly 400 lbs (and there was a plan to develop shells with nuclear warheads for the Iowa-class, but said plan was never implemented). In addition, their armor was, on average, about 10 inches (254 mm) thick.
In contrast, 105mm cannons were occasionally used as anti-tank guns, and could penetrate roughly 70mm of armor effectively.
In short, North Korea did a dumb, and the Wisconsin taught them this.
