    You DON'T want to use the white wire because if you do it takes away some voltage from the CDI

  • @rogerstafford-wakeinc.2088

    Good to see you! I might actually use it for once to try it on turn signals at some point.

      It can be done. I hope I don't just sound like I'm rambling but if you follow what I'm saying it should help everyone understand the white wire better.

    White and red wire are exactly the same. Only One coil 3700 turns of wire maxing a 290 ohm coil @ 3-7 volts ac depending on rpm. Red wire goes to cdi black goes to cdi as grounding contact since cdi is plastic. Black is also grounded to magneto frame. To create ground for spark plug. White would go to a 10,000uf ac ceramic capacitor and to the light. 1v to 3v incandescent light bulb. The kind like you find on the wheel genarator light kits. Anything bigger then 3v light will cause ignition issues. Lights grounding wire goes to the other leg of the capacitor and it is then grounded to the frame or engine case. I hope that explains it!

      This magneto has dual coils. This is what I use. www.ebay.com/itm/283647770259?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=LkQ2WeHyRfq&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=PVlK6jq4Qti&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

      It doesn't work for a DC setup without some rewiring.

    • @BuildBreakFix
      @BuildBreakFix Před rokem +1

      @@SamZStuff You did see the AC 3-7 volts in what wrote correct? has nothing to do with rewiring you need inline diode to which you can't use on this period. it will short the cdi out.

      @@SamZStuff it's not though. Simple way to prove it! Actually under the tape they are y'ed. Just the Indian version. Take ohm meter red and black are 290ohms. Same with black and blue. Blue and red will dead short cause its directly connected. It takes 2700 windings. No room for a second coil!

      Hey I hope you didn't take me the wrong way about 2 years ago when I bought like 9 of these! I cut them all open one by one and unwound them all! video some place of 9 I did! only thing changes is some use 34g wire and some 30g wire. some are grounded directly some are not! Higher voltage coils are smaller wire more turns to make 290 ohms then 6v coils! some point actually want to run each one with lathe measure outputs just never got around to it yet. I have like 40 different ones sitting here now lol maybe video to come when not so hot!

    I only run the upgraded magnetos that come with a red and black wire only and have a fatter Center body with more copper windings. You can find them pretty cheap on eBay or Amazon and they usually come with a CDI. Also check out WAGO 221 connectors bro if you haven't yet.

    • @SamZStuff
      @SamZStuff  Před 2 lety +1

      Nice I like that connector. Thanks👌 and I know what your saying about the magneto. I really like the dual coil one. Makes setting up a 12volt charging system a breeze and it's fairly cheap.

    Do u sell ur own Little generators

  • @wrongturnmotorizedbikes4604

    Just cut it off you don't need it. If you want lights use the battery box that holds 8 AA batteries. Works great and won't draw power from you engine

    • @SamZStuff
      @SamZStuff  Před 2 lety

      But if you could use it as a way to charge those batteries without drawing power from the engine. That is what I do with the white wire. It doesn't work with all magneto. You have to have a 2 wire magneto. Aka 12 volt magneto. They are still wired to be used as an ac voltage for a direct to light wiring. So a little bit of rewiring is required to use as a ac voltage to regulator rectifier. Wich will put out dc voltage and charge the batteries.
