    New York derangement syndrome runs deep in media/Internet circles. Obviously the Rangers are a legit Cup contender. They made the conference finals two years ago, they had the best record in the NHL this regular season and they've got a Vezina goalie, a Norris top D-man, an all time great coach and a deep and balanced set of forwards. If this roster were anywhere other than based in New York they'd be the odds on favorite with breathless and fawning media/Internet coverage.

    Being a Ranger Fan and a NHL Fan for 58 years, I know enough to say that there is no such thing as a sure thing come Stanley Cup Playoff time. With that said, the Rangers had as good as a season as any team over the last 20 years and they have just as good of a chance if not better of going all the way this year than anyone else in this years playoffs.
    Once again, Anything can happen. But I like our chances and I can not believe the lack of respect they are getting. I know the CEO/President (Dolan) is an absolute dick hole, but no need taking it out on anyone else in the organization. They worked hard to get here.

      Sixty year fan here, and unfortunately, the disrespect just never stops. There is such a thing as constructive criticism, however there are just some people who never have anything nice to say. So my question remains, why are you here? Some of the comments are so mean spirited that I don’t think you are really a “fan”. Maybe you should find something else to occupy your time. AIthough I doubt that the players read these comments, these are human beings we are talking about here. The idea is to enjoy, and appreciate just how difficult it is to have come this far. I am certainly enjoying it, I wish that everyone who loves the Rangers as much as I do will join in. I love to hear the Garden explode with excitement….LGR 🏒🥅

    Lifelong Ranger fan and a realistic one
    The reason why ppl think this about us is because when it comes to play driving offense we were mediocre at best and sometimes bottom 3rd at least the top end of the bottom 3rd
    We can’t out gun high offense teams. We need to win with everybody pitching in that includes great goaltending.
    We can’t take the game and shove it down your throat like other teams can. Ours is a more total approach and if enough things go right we can definitely win.
    If we stick to our game plan and play as many full 60s as necessary and get great goaltending then of course they can beat anyone anything is possible
    Definitely doable

    • @jameshannagan4256
      @jameshannagan4256 Před 16 dny +2

      The Rangers actually natch up pretty well with the Canes they won the season series and they sent the Canes home in the playoffs 2 years ago. I know the Canes made a couple of deadline deals but the this Rangers squad is better than the one that beat the Canes 2 years ago and they're better coached as well. Just look at the Rangers last year sometimes those supposed big deadline deals mess with team chemistry so you can't get too excited about it. As good as the Canes are, and they are a really good team, I think the Rangers will beat them.

    • @Jimmyfly215
      @Jimmyfly215 Před 16 dny

      @@jameshannagan4256 I personally disagree. But that’s why they play the games. I think the mid season additions for Carolina not only beat the Rangers, I have them coming out of the East. And I throw the regular season out the window. These playoffs are clearly different.

      @jameshannagan4256 Před 16 dny +3

      @@Jimmyfly215 Yes but a Ranger team that was not nearly as good and poorly coached beat them 2 years ago. This Ranger team is much better and much better coached so i'd say that evens it out. The Rangers made a couple of sneaky good deadline moves that didn't disrupt their chemistry this time. I think this series is as even as it gets. I do think whoever wins has to deal with Florida and probably Colorado so whoever wins it all will really have deserved it. There are a lot of really good teams that could win this year it's a stellar playoff.

So what history are you referring to. So all the recent history in big games would suggest you're wrong.

Going to be really effing tough but I think they can do it if they take advantage of their opportunities on the PP and keep it tight defensively.
