  • As many of you know I am not the biggest fan of leaving any of my cars stock. I have owned my mustang for almost 9 months now and haven't made one mod to her. That is all about to change as today we unbox the 3 must-have mods for any coyote powered Mustang!

    • @peterwho9380
      @peterwho9380 Před 3 lety

      You can get high flow cats now from MAK which just came out 30+ days ago! I had their older MAK race pipes with no cat's because at the time they didn't have this and I agree LT headers are too loud. I added 2 X 3.0 inch Thunderbolt 400CEL HFC's to the MAK race pipes and it sounds awesome with my Borla S-Type and X pipe setup! Low RPM's it's quiet as help and a 50% tone increase when going WOT but nowhere close to obnoxious! Original discussion at Mustang6G is in the second link!

  • @Firesealb99
    @Firesealb99 Před 3 lety +8

    Great vid. I got my 2015 GT 6 speed about 6 months ago and the first mods im doing to them is all shifter/clutch related. I feel like the car already makes more HP than what the stock shifter setup can handle. Have you experienced any shifter slop or high rpm lockouts? What's your plan for the trans?

    • @ShiftingLanes
      @ShiftingLanes  Před 3 lety +1

      I feel your shifter concerns and it is on my list of “next mods” along with some rear suspension upgrades to reduce wheel hop. As I understand it making the shifter assembly more accurate and reducing wheel hop gives the mt82 the best chance at surviving. Eventually I want to go built mt82 or a t56 magnum paired with a twin disc clutch.

    • @Firesealb99
      @Firesealb99 Před 3 lety +1

      @@ShiftingLanes Where's the Mustang!? I added a steeda clutch spring, blowfish bracket, and new trans fluid and it increased shifting precision a ton on mine.

    • @R0cketRed
      @R0cketRed Před 3 lety

      @@Firesealb99 yea I just did the new trans fluid about 3 months ago and it made a world of difference for the mt82. Do you think the blowfish bracket made much of a difference for you or was it mostly the fluid and spring. Im sure its hard to tell what did what if u did all 3 at the same time but from my experience the fluid alone made the first 3 mins of driving so much smoother almost equivalent to a warmed up transmission.

    • @HeadBassVTEC
      @HeadBassVTEC Před rokem +1

      same here, one of the first mods I ordered were all related to shifter, steeda tri-ax race shifter, braided clutch line, steeda shifter helper spring and a BG Fluid II along with other maintenance items and few quality of life upgrades and accessories....having just bought the car more power is the last thing I need, first I want to do some maintenance and improve the reliablity and improve what I don't like currently (the shifter feel)....also ordered some good light wheels and sticky tires and after that I am looking into suspenstion, but not lowering, just sway bars to reduce body roll and some IRS items to fix some cheap design choices by ford
      I don't think I will get to adding power until at least one year of ownership....and probably will only be 2018 intake manifold and tune, I want to keep my car n/a for as long as it bings me eneough thrill and joy

  • @viperaddictcarfanatic6321

  • @hardhitter5099
    @hardhitter5099 Před 2 lety +2

    Yo I’m thinking of doing this to my 2020 Coyote but of course already has the Gen 3 manifold so I’m good there stock. I want to ask how it did for you? All these mods? I’m wanting to keep mine NA at least for a while for more reliability but that may change in the near future if I start tracking the car! But I wanted to ask how it help up with these mods for the time being and if it’s still a good recommendation for my gen 3! Just trying to weigh my options!

    • @ShiftingLanes
      @ShiftingLanes  Před 2 lety +1

      Absolutely love the mods. Combine them with bigger tired (305 out back) and she’s so much fun to drive. If your looking for the best na manifold the cobra jet is the way to go. Check out our dyno video on the mods. Added 50 hp to the wheels. And with the higher compression in the gen 3 you can get really good power na.
      Locking out the imrcs does lose a little power down low. But overall Thea mods were great! Would highly recommend.

    I 100% agree with stock air box thing, I know it's true especially on these mustangs.. They Dyno them with the hood up, and if it's not ramming in through the front grill the way stock does, don't do it.. I have seen one Rauch CAI that met right up to the front grill like stock and closed it's box off from the rest of the motor with weather stripping that buts right to the hood when closed to keep out heat..

    I am keep stock header's I think that is where people go wrong.. instead of buying Header's and a whole new exhaust and an Intake.. Just set all that money aside and keep saving for a super charger, then get a wibble or what ever you want and take the car to 650 wheel with everything else stock as can be maybe an H pipe or X pipe for sound. And I will try to use a ford super charger if I can. That's my plan anyway.. I'm going to stay stock for the next 2/3 years while saving and looking for the right people to do the SC and work plus Tune.. The one thing I happy about that came stock were the 373 gearing, it's perfect for this motor and the Manual..
