    Congratulations! Sorry for the loss of the 2171. I recently acquired a 372xp non-xtorq for just fiddy bux. It was missing a couple of pieces and had some broken parts, but I am getting it back together. It’s now in running/ cutting condition. Just need a few more parts to make it complete.

    I was kinda wondering at first, and then you adjusted her, leaned her out, and what a difference! Impressive! Sounded like she was pretty much spot on, four stroking and all... I have to say, when she was running rich, she wasn't cutting like she should, but I loved the sound! That’s just me. Nice saw. Congrats! 👍

    Recently picked up a 2152 and 2049. Plastics definitely feel like an afterthought; horrible to take off and replace the top covers without taking recoil of. I like them because they are a cheap source of the newest oem husky parts for my pre-xtorq saws

      That's interesting. I've always thought that JReds felt better constructed than the cheaper feeling Huskies. And i would perfer to use the common Huskies as parts sources for my Jreds. Crazy how we can have the different opinions.

    There is a reason why the husky 372 is so widely sought after in the logging industry
    They get even better with a muffler mod and a big bore kit or some porting done to it
    I have two of them and two of the clone saw. Holzfforma g372xp

    The johnsered in that model reminds me of the Italian 264f olympyk just more snort lol. I just recently finally swallowed my pride and bought a 372xp clone so I can test some things on a cheaper scale before committing the parts or ideas to a $1000 husky. Them cutters edge saws are beautiful 🤩

    Believe it or not guy in my town offered me a 372xp for my new Timberwolf but it has a carb problem which a new one is only $22 for a walboro carb. It’s too much saw for what I use it for though. I’d like to have one though. It was kinda on the rough side, far as plastic wise

    It’s true xtorq saws run lean. But I promise you a 372 xtorq properly ported, mixed with some aftermarket parts, good oil, and proper fuel. Will run and last every bit as well and as long as the XP’s. I have a few videos on the subject if you look far enough back on my channel. Also my latest videos are with a highly modified 372 xtorq. That’s a sharp looking saw btw. I’m interested to see where you go with it!

    • @austindenotter19
      @austindenotter19 Před 2 lety +2

      It seems like you have to go through a lot of extra trouble to make that X torq a viable saw. Whereas in the logging world if you convert it over to a non-x toraue the 372 will simply outperform outlast any form of X torque. We of course had to buy X torqs when they first come out and of course they burnt up on us within a year. So we gathered up those chassis and other parts and had original OEM husky heads/carb put back on and have been running awesome ever since. That was 10 years ago.

  • @jaydee2620

    The 372xp is so good and so popular that u can get 390xp or 395xp new or lightly used off eBay cheaper than a 372. So I may get stuck with a big overpowered saw 🤷🏻‍♂️.

  • @shorty808100
    @shorty808100 Před 2 lety +1

    Cute kinda slow for a full house chain those rakers might be slightly to high like stihl’s out of the box chain get a raker gauge then you can keep your chain cutting like new for a long long time

  • @austindenotter19
    @austindenotter19 Před 2 lety +1

    Kinda new to your channel. Buying either husky or jonsered 71 cc x torq saw new, never running it and putting a non x torq head is common practice in the logging world. Keep them sharp keep them clean they will last forever

    • @novicelumberjack

    That's it

    • @novicelumberjack
      @novicelumberjack  Před 2 lety +3

      But then you'd have the angled Husky handle. Which is fine, but it doesn't match the chain brake and just overall not the real deal. I'm glad it has the legit Jonsered full wrap.

I’m not hating it’s just that tree size is what makes cutting complicated and dangerous not wood hardness. I get your guys trees are wider which makes residential work tricky. But in terms of commercial timber nothing beats the thrill of laying into some 10 ft cedars.
