Brooklyn Official Trailer #1 (2015) - Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson Movie HD
BROOKLYN tells the profoundly moving story of Eilis Lacey (Saoirse Ronan), a young Irish immigrant navigating her way through 1950s Brooklyn. Lured by the promise of America, Eilis departs Ireland and the comfort of her mother’s home for the shores of New York City. The initial shackles of homesickness quickly diminish as a fresh romance sweeps Eilis into the intoxicating charm of love. But soon, her new vivacity is disrupted by her past, and she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.

Glad to see her using her natural accent.
+triskut That's not her natural accent...
+OysterHunter seriously?! She's Irish silly. Watch an interview of her and stop being wrong.
triskut Saoirse has a Dublin accent, in the film she speaks in a different type of Irish accent, from the South of Ireland. There's no need to be so rude, particularly when YOU don't know what you're talking about. Stop being wrong.
triskut You must feel like an idiot now, lol.
+OysterHunter I just watched an interview with her and aside from this film and Grand Budapest Hotel she said are the only films she didn't have to do a accent for. The difference is she has a leading roll now.
from someone who has seen the movie - trust me it is NOT ABOUT A LOVE TRIANGLE. now i havent read the books so maybe the book was about the love triangle but the movie is definitely not. Instead it focuses more on the settling aspect of the story. You see this immigrant struggle so much with the concept of home. This is the protagonist's journey towards finding her identity, her home, her heart. You see her struggle with America.
As an immigrant myself, i identify with this movie so much. The hopes of the country, the bitter reality, the longing to be home, family, friends, new life, new job. The movie and Saroise perfectly captured the entire transformation. I know art is what is perceived by the eye and mind BUT i really really wished people would stop saying it is a love triangle drama. It is not. It was not shot that way. The role the irish fella plays in this movie is very minimal, there is a tiny small emotional affair- not even an actual emotional affair, just the potential for one.
The book was not about a love triangle either. It had a few extra subplots; but, I actually enjoyed the movie better than the book.
The book is not at all about a love Triangle, it is mostly centered around Eilis and her life in America and Ireland.
Batool Abbasi well said felt the same
Did this man just spoil the movie
Exactly
It was like seeing a mirror when I leave my small hometown to study and starting career in the capital city. Though still in the same country
The struggle, the adaptation process, the reaction when coming back home. It resonates well
For me, Its an ode for an immigrant, to search a better future
She's an incredible actress. And very underrated
Stephanie What do you mean underrated? She has been nominated three times for an Oscar and several BAFTA awards. She is justifiably highly rated, not as you say underrated.
Good to see Saoirse Ronan getting good adult roles. I'm tired of the way they misuse her, she's a brilliant actress.
This hit home with me. Being a Chinese immigrant who didn't speak a word of English upon arriving in America. The emotions she went through definitely resonated.
Having moved abroad myself, I can say this movie perfectly captured every feeling you go through adjusting to life in a new country, from homesickness to the pure joy of making a new life for yourself. It is a complete roller coaster ride and this movie hit home for me with every scene. I was pleasantly surprised. They nailed it!
oh god...she's so beautiful! i could watch her for hours!
She's a great actress; I guess her niche is independent but I wish the wider viewing community would discover her (or perhaps she's not interested in being Jennifer Lawrence).
Scott Morgen C'mon! Jennifer Lawrence is not only beautiful and talented, but she's actually kinda quirky for such a big, mainstream movie star.
+James From Cambridge she's over rated and, frankly, quite annoying
+ButterfleeEllie guessing you've never seen Winters Bone? Or Silver lines playbook for that matter. She is a talented, likeable young actress who has already achieved a high selection of alternative roles. I think you may have a case of the Tall Poppy syndrome. Try not to negate someones talent simply because of their success. Kia kaha
Annie Turnbull I have seen those movies actually. I don't think she is a bad actress either. I don't dislike her movies, I've seen nearly all of them.. and i'm not saying she isn't talented.
Based on her appearances *outside of movies*, she is annoying. And the reputation she currently has, I think is over played/used and not at all accurate.
+Scott Morgen I think she's a great actress too and should be nominated for an Oscar for her role in this film.
The fact that Domnhall Gleeson is the 2nd guy makes it 1000x harder to choose between the two guys. But then again omg this is such a must watch!! I mean come on Saoirse and Domnhall my two favorite artists!!!
+Canal de farticles ugh same i love saoirse and domnhall i was so excited when i knew they were going to be in a movie together
I am not an emotional guy at all!! But I cried several times when I was watching this movie. Not only funny but touching!
I cried pretty much all the way through the second half. In fact, I just cried watching the trailer again.
My grandmother was Irish, my grandfather was Italian. FEELS
I just saw Brooklyn and thank God I didin't see this trailer before!!!! I have to say, this trailer spoilered all the movie!!!
+Douglas Lima that's what I thought! It practically tells the whole story
I agree!!
SAME

I did the same and thought what could the reviews on this film be like... wll.. i am glad, i didn't see the trailer first, but god this film is gold.
not platinum, but gold.
Fantastic script. I enjoyed every minute.
I think i will cry a lot watching this movie. Idk why...her acting just gave me goosebumps. She is a very underrated actress.
This Italian guy ohhh my💞😍
Meh, too laid back for my taste. Not that I go for wackjobs, but I like a little fire in my conversation. This guy just went a liitle too much with the flow (dead fish stream).
Emory Cohen
U mean this guy 1:34 , he looked so italian (the hand gesture xD)
@Baby Bunny Better for the fire to play out between the sheets instead of in conversation with matters of your heart.
The man singing is the most emotional scene in the film. Had me in tears so much.
How many Irish-Italian families are there in America? I think they are the most intermarried among Americans... They share strong family values and an unshakeable work ethic.
And Catholic faith :)
alwong604 George Clooney is half Italian half Irish.
Haatchii whatever
Greta M. Well, it is true nonetheless.
Haatchii okay, I was just pointing out the similarities like predominant religion. I'm an atheist and I'm cool with existence of things I don't support/understand.
The feels are so real
I watched this movie after I had just begun my freshman year of college. I was so homesick, and this movie made me cry how much its message about home spoke to me.
I loved this movie. I can relate so much. Just moved to Canada from Czech Republic. Huge change. Very very very homesick.
DON'T WATCH THIS TRAILER BEFORE YOU WATCH THE MOVIE! I just finished watching the film now; this trailer basically shows the majority of the movie - a part from the pinnacle end.
Home is where true love is.......my dark room with Netflix.
Well that's a beatiful actress
the story doesn't seem to be very big. A homesick Irish girl falls in love with an Italian boy. A message from home makes her return to Ireland. And the boy waits for her for as long as he can. There are only 2 reasons why I would want to watch this movie:
1. Saooirse Ronan
2. Saoirse's Irish accent.
Don't judge a book by its cover! Ignore trailer, the film is so much more, I promise!
sammmme
+Tan Newton I watched this film and it was very good. Lead actress is outstanding.
You'll definitely not enjoy the Lord of the Rings movies. It's just about a bunch of little hicks from the country who try to return some jewellery.
The plot is very simplistic, but Saiorse's character and her accent do the job :3
I saw the movie without seeing the trailer and it was amazing, so unexpected!
Same. I was truly shocked at how good this movie was.
+Bunpei Shiratori I literally just finished watching it. Loved it!
Is it just me or are her eyes just stunning!
I just stumbled upon this movie while switching channels... Read the synopsis and decided to watch it for a few minutes. I was so captivated by her acting, and the overall feel of the movie that in myself want to go live in the fifties. Started feeling nostalgic for no reason. It also gave a valuable lesson, that as we grow up we have to find a life that's our own, not related to our past, something that we love. A treasure.
Turns out she was just smuggling arms from Brooklyn to Eire for the IRA and wasn't actually interested the least bit in either boy.
+Dae Dalus plz tell me your joking
+Dae Dalus Either? Wasn't there only one boy?
+Dae Dalus seems legit
Tiocfaidh ár lá!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Dae Dalus So thanks for spoiling you SHITHEAD!
One of the best movies of all time, wholesome and gentle! Each and everyone nailed it. A treat to watch from the beginning till the very end.
The chemistry between Eilis and Tony was incredible! I'm glad they replaced Rooney with Saoirse.
Just watched Brooklyn again, it still brings a tear to my eye, great movie love the chemistry between Saoirse & Emory☘️
After Hanna, I'm never seeing this girl the same way again
Even though I'm late to the party, just finished watching it and I honestly loved it! Her character was such a nice sensible person who puts life into perspective.. Terrific movie.
Damn.... her eyes are beautiful enough to watch
Ooohh yeah! Looks like Saoirse Ronan has finally chosen a good romance film.
Raz Edits how i live now was awesome
+Raz Edits Atonement was good too
R u saying Atonement was bad?
ugh i LOOOOOOVE Saoirse honestly the more movies I see her in the more I love her. She's just so talented and sweet and beautiful. Truly a wonderful actress and person
This movie is so beautiful and so much more than the love triangle they portray in the trailer. At its core, its about a girl just trying to find her home. It will resonate with anyone who has ever had to move or deal with a foreign place.
Beautiful beatiful film!!! Who's on oscars marathon here? So far i've already watched brooklyn, spotlight, room, the big short, the martian, the danish girl and joy
+Mike Valdez spotlight, the big short, the martian, the revenant, st james place and goona see this one now.
This movie hits so differently if you have actually moved abroad. I saw the film when it was new and again when i was homesick. Having moved to France I could really relate to her in a way I never could before. He excitement for a new life but her devastating homesickness for her family and the places she knew. The first time it was a pretty movie, the second time it made me weep because it covered how I felt. And gave me hope that it would pass.
That last scene literally kills it! Saoirse is so beautiful I have goosebumps.
I'm calling it now. She should play Lyanna Stark.
She is so underrated! She is defiantly one of the best actresses, but doesn't seem to get the big movies she should be in. :(
Just saw it and it was incredible, by far my favourite film of the year and possibly the best film of the year, it makes sense that it was nominated for so many categories for the Oscars, well deserved. Hopefully Saorise wins best actress and hopefully Best picture!
Refreshingly wholesome, clean, true and I believe its exactly the way it was in ever sense of the word.. Its a Wonderful movie, don't miss it...
Felicity?.
Yup
I can't get enough of this film!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! Seen it twice, would watch it again! Really hoping Saoirse Ronan wins Best Actress!
This was the first film I saw with Saoirse Ronan, and I was stunned by her performance. So subtle and moving, at such a young age. She has so many memorable scenes. The film itself is also very good. HIghly recommended.
I loved Saoirse Ronan since I watched Atonement. :)
+AuroraS 92 That was phenomenal acting
That character though was a tad touched in the noggin. Creepy au bout! She played it well.
Domhnall Gleeson and Saoirse Ronan in the same movie. It's a dream come true... :)
"You just splashed his mother, his father, and the walls." That line killed me 😭😭😭
The story was somewhat "simple," but it was so so beautifully told. Really enjoyed this movie :)
I can't stop thinking about this movie! I can't wait to see who she is going to choose!!
My favorite part is when the old man sings and the ending when they hug. Always makes me cry 😢
the Italian guy is the kid from "A Place Beyond the Pines" damn, he's a great actor. I saw the film and I really loved it
Looks like a beautiful movie. Saoirse Ronan! What a wonderful actress and so gorgeous.
nothing like you Saoirse... you're perfect. everything about art is in you. wishing you could boom the world and your career be shinning brightly.
Beautiful film. Absolutely loved it.
i always love her characters ! gosh !
I remember sobbing at the movie theater watching this with my mom. I was so sad that she had to leave her mother behind. I was 38 and a mess. Needless to say my mom must have felt pretty secure that she would never be left. Then when I finally collected myself my mom reminded me that this was probably so similar to when my grandma’s parents came to the United States from Poland. Leaving everyone behind. I lost it all over again.
This is the best movie I have seen this year so far (havent seen spectre yet).
Basically everybody in the audience cried, including the guy next to me. And a woman a few rows in front of us was sobbing like I've never heard anybody in public sob before xD
She is absolutely stunning. And she acts well.
i cry every time i watch this movie, i love it so so much. 10/10 suggest.
That kid's delivery of "We don't like Irish people" line made me think of Boardwalk Empire.
And guess who is sitting on the right at 1:32? A dude playing Bugsy Siegel in Boardwalk Empire :D
+Greta M. Good observation! That's Michael Zegen from Boardwalk!
first movie I've seen of Domhnall Gleeson where he didn't have to speak in an accent and just got to talk as an Irishman
This is one of the best movies i've ever seen,Y'll should see it.
This movie is beautiful and makes me cry every time I watch it
These aren't typically the kind of movies I go out of my way to watch, but this looks beautifully done. I will definitely be checking this out!
the costumes and make up! beautiful
Saoirse ronan deserves all the awards such a great actress
just the trailer alone gave me such feels!!! I wanna see it!!!
I want to see this movie already.! It's beautiful!😍❤️
beautiful film. one of the best so far this year.
She's an amazing actress.
It may look boring at first BUT it's one of the movies that has a special place in my heart. ❤️
Mine too❤
Studied the novel for my leaving cert :D can't wait to see it :)
AWW Emily Bett Rickards
Just watched Brooklyn. Twice. Great actress.
Unbelievable movie. Absolutely loved it.
I'm reading this for my HSC so cool its becoming a movie and its way more then a romance if you read it. Its way more about the ties of home and what it is and how it can evolve and change but still remain a constant we need. Hope the movie does it justice :)
Girl, you better pick the hot Guido!
Very excited to see this!!
I loved this movie, it was simple yet amazing.
SPOILER ALERT:
She farts in front of him, he dumps her, she goes home to Ireland.
bbcasting the feel.
Screw you man i was really looking forward to this
Asrul Ash Otomen Abdullah the smell

+bbcasting Fart jokes man, nobody can escape their comicalness.
i love domhnall gleeson !! looks like an amazing cast ^^
FANTASTIC MOVIE! The lead actress is phenomenal!!!!
Great movie to see. Reminds me of my grandparents. Both from Brooklyn and she's all Irish and he is all italian and his name is Tony too.
So excited saoirse's a fantastic actress and whoop go Ireland
She should win an oscar for this performance
I dont know how she got through customs, she didn't switch to Muggle worthy at the start
Von Trapp thay scene fr the movie fantastic beast is very much alike with the custom scene here too 😘
I love the soundtrack !!
She has Irish eyes.
......
When Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure it's like the morn in Spring,
In the lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure they steal your heart away.
12. Do none of the above
she needs to make more movies like this
I wanna watch this just for Saoirse!! I love this girl!!
I can see her as Ailsa from Kathryn Davis "too deep for tears!!
Oh my God. I fell in love with this movie..
She is my favorite actress, all her movies are my favorite, she is so versatile, from playing in How I live now to lifetime movies and of course the lovely bones and now this wonderful gem of a movie. She really deserves an Oscar! Please Jennifer Lawrence pass the baton! LOL.
I love the movie and she is such a great actress
Such a beautiful movie!! Any other movies similar to this?
Fantastic move, Enjoyed every minute. Wish the ending was a bit nicer. And wish they make more movies like this.
