- Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by author of 'Depp V Heard: The Unreal Story' Nick Wallis, and TalkTV contributor and lawyer Paula Rhone-Adrien, to debate whether Johnny Depp's public perception, as seen at the Cannes Film Festival in which the Pirates of the Caribbean actor received a standing ovation upon his entrance, is fair and justified in juxtaposition to Amber Heard's public treatment.
Paula believes the public are playing a dangerous game by celebrating Johnny Depp's return and scolding Amber Heard as both have been seen to be abusive to each other, and that originally Johnny was found guilty of abuse in a UK court.
Piers thinks they were both toxic and horrible to each other within their relationship and concedes there could be double standards at play.
However, Piers goes on to say that in the most recent test of this claim, Johnny was proven to be telling the truth by verdict of a jury in the US and therefore should be free to continue with his career.

I am an American woman who watched the entire American trial. Johnny Depp won because Amber Heard was proven to be a liar and admitted, on tape, that she abused him. He was vindicated. Let him live. I am thrilled with Dior’s and Frances support of him and love watching him get back to life as he deserves.

Millions of survivors around the world watched the trial and spoke out in support of Johnny!! We all saw who the abuser was in the relationship! Alot of survivors, men and women, actually shared their stories for the first time during and after the trial because they were inspired by Johnny standing up for the truth and winning in court against his abuser. It was a win for everyone and every person that shared their experiences, regardless of their gender, was overwhelmed by messages of support. That has been completely ignored by the media. AH was a witness in that trial not a main party and the judge in the uk deemed her to be lying and didn't believe her still ruled for tge paper for his own reasons possibly family ties...note that judge has now retired. If I was JD I'd re file the case here I don't believe he got a fair go...he was unlucky to get allocated one judge with contacts to the sun and arguably should have recused due to that but the judge didn't.

Yet further down the line he interviews her then defended her narrative. The Sun had it in for Depp anyway as he once suspected them of hacking his phone as when his then little girl . The only "double standard" that we could see was Johnny being fired from movie productions before any kind of trial solely based on Amber's accusations, while AH, a proven liar and abuser, is still starring in the new Aquaman film even after losing the trial. The more I watch this video the more furious I get because they never one time mention the crooked judge and the papers attorney.. There's no way Piers doesn't know about the crooked retires now judge and the connection with the papers attorney... That trial was a damn shame and made me realize America isn't the only one with judges being bought...
90% of that discussion really wound me up. Its clear none of you watched the trial, maybe the highlights. That woman accused JD of rape, the most heinous act you could ever accuse a man of. She accused him of beating her up frequently, then we see pictures of her the very next day looking perfect and claimed makeup covered up her 'broken nose.' The audios are very powerful. If you actually watch the trial properly, listen to all the facts and evidence, watch her over the top story fall to pieces, it's very obvious who the victim was. Even his ex partners are backing him, including Kate Moss, the most private person in world, took the stand because she wanted to support him. A former TMZ employee came forward and said she tipped off the paps that she would be leaving court with a 'bruise' on her face and to come and take pictures of her, they also said she sent them an edited version of the video of JD banging kitchen cabinets around, she cut it before the end so we thought JD had ripped the phone away and beat her, but when we saw the entire version he'd stormed off and she was sniggering. Everything was orchestrated, shes absolutely sick. That lady on the panel says 'why doesn't she have a right to tell the world about her abuse...?' Because it was a LIE!!! All of it. So yes, Johnny Depp should get his life back and then some, he deserves it. He's a good man who married a woman with borderline personality disorder and histrionic personality disorder, she was diagnosed with these disorders last year. Exactly! Depp is a victim of DV. I was a victim of emotional abuse, and when cornered, I shouted at my abuser and imagined all sorts I could do to harm them. But I never acted on it, apart from shouting to leave me along. I was suicidal because of that abuse. It's only when a person started getting physically abusive, it was a cruel wake up call for me. I ran. Struggled but survived. Now! Depp's behaviour was of the one who was being abused. Amber...where are all those marks, she was talking about? Make up? Come on! It's not that easy to hide swallen face or bad bruise.
I listened to almost every minute of the Johnny and Amber court case and I can promise that if I thought Johnny was guilty I would not stand by him no matter how famous he is. But I truly believe he was the victim in their relationship.

In Virginia, every lie she had previously said was outed as false. Nowhere in any evidence were the words 'sorry for hi**ing you' on the plaintiffs side, that was all the defendant, HER. Multiple recordings of her admitting violence.

The judge in the UK retired immediately after the libel trial and there were some alarming details about the judge (his son was affiliated with the paper and the judge went out socially with Amber). He also put a lot of credence in the donation of her $7M divorce settlement, which actually never happened. Amber’s claims of abuse do not pass a common sense test and they weren’t assessed adequately in the UK trial. The only irrefutable evidence that anyone was actually abused was Johnny.

The Violence Against Women Act was passed by Bill Clinton and Joe Biden as a response to the OJ trial because the LAPD neglected Nicole so much that OJ killed her and got away with it. It enables the police to arrest and charge a man of domestic abuse against a woman if there is evidence regardless of whether or not the woman presses charges, to prevent another OJ/Nicole scenario. But it doesn't apply to same sex or female on female. Had it been universal, Heard would have a criminal record for abusing Tasya Van Ree, long before Johnny Depp. She assaulted Tasya at an airport and was arrested by airport police but Tasya didn't press charges so they let her go, and its the same reason why Heard still isn't in prison, because Depp didn't press criminal charges after the Virginia trial. That was his final mercy.
Unfortunately, the case was only civil and not criminal… If she keeps dodging her legal problems though…
The UK judge is related to the family that own the paper and would not allow any evidence of JD’s into the case. Completely warped trial and an unjust verdict full of corruption. AH's trial team hired a private investigator, to find people who would testify against JD. The investigator gave an interview on Law & Crime Network, and stated that he couldn't find anyone in the U.S., or overseas who had anything negative to say about JD. Also, if you watched the trial, you would have noticed that JD, had many witnesses, who have known him for decades. None of AH's group of friends were even speaking to her by the time they were deposed. That says a lot about the character of JD and AH.

In the UK trial Heard was not cross examined. When cross examined in the US she lied on the stand. Add to that that when asked by her own lawyer how the trial affected her, she replied (verbatum) "It's the worst thing to ever happen to me... in my life" One would think getting r@ped with a bottle would have been "the worst thing to ever happen to her... in her life," would one not ? So go take a long walk off a short pier if you still think she's telling the truth.

This case regarding Johny Depp losing the court case in the UK, firstly, it was against the Sun. Madam Amber Heard was a witness, and as such she didn't have to be questioned like in Virginia. Secondly, the Judge was under the impression that she had donated all the money to 2 charities, which later on in Virginia was proven that she hadn't. In the Virginia court, Johny Depp was the plaintiff and Amber Heard the defendant. There, the court heard both sides and a jury decided unanimously in favour of Johny Depp. Two different cases with two different participants. I am not surprised that there is still confusion regarding all this, after all the misrepresentation of facts.

The judge in the UK case made AH the star witness even though her statements in that case were contradictory. In the US she demonstrated that she is a liar and manipulator. Now, most people when they hear the words pledge or donate think of AH and her manipulative behaviour. AH has a history of DV with past partners, not one person came forward to say they had an abusive relationship with JD.

One of the key things that's being overlooked is that the police officers' evidence was not admitted in the UK trial - which was a crucial part of JD's case. Not to mention the fact that during the US case, it was revealed that AH had donated hardly any of the divorce settlement she got from JD, contrary to what she claimed in the UK case (she said she donated the entire settlement to charity), which was something the UK Judge gave a lot of weight to, in terms of her credibility, in assessing the truth of the allegations. I think it would be helpful to have commentators who have actually followed the trials properly, looked at the transcripts etc before giving their opinion.

She was only a witness and therefore she was not subject to discovery and Johnny was unable to compell crucial evidence!!! Wittneses have protections that parties to the case do not! -- you would think the barrister on the panel would know this!! 🙄 Despite the face that Amber was able to pick and choose what she gave the Sun Newspaper/The court-- she still wrote 7 DIFFERENT versions of her story / "her truth". Its obvious when you see the evidence Judge Nichols DIDN'T allow in for Johnny Depp and the fact that Amber Heard's claims were not examined but taken on face value that his judgment was flawed. Her claims fell apart spectacularly when they were scrutinised in the US trial which didn't happen in the UK. True sometimes its about money and fame but this seemed more like a social justice lobbying for MeToo misused by a liar, Amber Heard. It came out later the AH and her team had a friendly relationship with his out who they inappropriately went out to lunches with.

The US was also a civil trial before a jury. The UK was a defamation case before a Judge. JD sued the Sun newspaper for calling him a wife beater. AH was a witness for the Sun. She testified that JD had physically abused her. The Judge believed AH was truthful. He was wrong
