To be fair we will get a couple of Starks on screen, with Cregan Stark and his sister Sara Snow, and the former will play a pretty important part in the end of the conflict with the Hour of the Wolf. (They could maybe even do a subplot and expand on Cregan's trouble with his uncle as well as Northern politics at the same time as they set the stage for the Dance with the years leading up to it in the first few seasons, making him somewhat of a main character to balance the Targaryens and everything else down south).
I'd also like to commend you on a very informative video. It didn't provide me with any really new information, but it's probably one of the only places with all of it laid out comprehensibly (the notablog posts) without any speculation that other channels and most online sites have.
Additionally, the information is presented in a very balanced manner, and although I suspect we have quite different opinions regarding the last few seasons, and our preferred prequel idea, I felt you highlighted very well many of the reasons why I am more keen for House of the Dragon than Bloodmoon in an impartial way.

Absolutely, love to see the Jace and Sara Snow meeting as well as the expanded Hour of the Wolf that Martin gave in Fire and Blood.
Love this comment, exactly what I was going for! Not trying to engage in the wild speculation out there or coloring what I think happened with which prequel I would like to see most. Very glad that came across, haven't done much of these news style videos.

@@anthonywarren9885 At present sure, but Fire and Blood is not a novel, so things which will need to be fleshed out for a tv show haven't been. I think it would be a good idea to have some more Cregan Stark stuff to both appease Stark fans, but also so that when he plays a huge part at the end in the Hour of the Wolf it's not jarring and we already have some idea of who he is.

I actually think it’s better we didn’t get a show set in the age of heroes. I just don’t think that time period is supposed to be seen, like we’re not supposed to know 100% what all went down. We’re supposed to go bye the histories that the characters read. It gives her greater sense of mystery.

A Long Night series will be better if the main series is finished. There are likely a trove of clues that will emerge to make a much better long night show in the long run. House of the Dragon has a great deal of source material which will make a stronger more coherent series.

@@JoeMagician I think fan quibbles with S8 are more about what was set up was not paid off, or was paid off backwards, and would have happened even if GRRM had published The Long Night. If D&D had a Jon vs. NK (Westoros' best living swordsman versus Holywood's best sword fighter in costume) sword fight and King's Landing had been destroyed before Arya stabbed the NK, I think fan response would have been much more positive. It probably would have at least seemed more organic that way. I don't find as much hypocrisy in S8 as others, but I get the anger.

My first video of yours, will definitely be checking out more. But did I hear you DARE to call my Queen's sons "Strongs"?!! Viserys warned you, out with your tongue!
Also really glad you picked up on the high chance that it will be about the Dance only from George's blog, it's surprising and annoyed me how many of these kind of videos speculated about an anthology series of all Targaryen kings somehow missing these obvious clues.
GRRM also says in the blog post that the series will be set "a couple of centuries" before GoT (200, not 300) and that this one will have "lots of dragons" which would be true of an anthology too, but initially would only have three for the Conquest so this led me to think Dance as well as the more obvious Rogue and Princess and the Queen clues.

Great video! I do think the Blood Moon prequel was cancelled in response to season 8. They killed that spinoff in episode three. Also I don’t think most fans are willing to watch anything about ASOIAF that hasn’t been published first. I, particularly, want to know about the long night from GRRM, and him only. Fire and Blood is canon and so there is no chance that the show could ruin it for me. Anyway, HBO let the show runners kill GoT and are now paying dearly for it. They should thank the old gods and the new for this Targaryen prequel that may actually give them the chance to stay relevant after such an epic fail.

The theme of the whole show was centered upon danereys getting back to the iron throne and being its rightful ruler , though 8 was total self destrusction in the books it ended with the same goals and jhon snow being revived back to life, after he gets murdered. Soo i think thats great, it trully revolves around house targeryan and its ancient kin, and house of dragons just has more lore to work with because the white walker arent as interesting or there is not enough official information to get inspired of off. having a conqueror with dragons is more exciting and know its dynasty to power is more realistic than having zombies come to life . Also they kinda resemble the walking dead so there is no point on being a competetive show when you have dragons and a whole diffrent genre to work and create with! I cant wait ! I definitely would not have watched any show that tried to connect itself to the way GoT ended the white walkers in the show. The Long Night could've been good as a standalone story if it addressed all the plot arcs that GoT blatantly abandoned and corrected what the show did to that storyline. But the fact that show writers would have had to make it all up without real source material would have made me skeptical regardless. I only hope HotD doesn't attempt to justify GoT's treatment of Daenerys by what happens to Rhaenyra. Nothing can redeem what D & D did to GoT.

I agree that S8 was terrible. Jon and the NK should have had a showdown battle and King’s Landing is where the white walkers should have been obliterated. I hate what they did to my girl Dani. The Targaryens are definitely more interesting than a dramatisation of Dying of the Light (AKA Blood Moon), but I will be gravely disappointed if the series starts with the Dance of Dragons. (It sounds like it will.) Much as I love GRRM's writing, he kind of beat that story to death retelling it in four separate books. I would love to see Maegor barbecue the Sept of Remembrance. Cersei's encore of that act was the single best thing D and D added on the show.

    Melisandre's true origin
My theory is that Melisandre is actually Elissa Farman... If you know her story, she ran from Westeros and stole 3 dragon eggs and was never seen again.. except Corlys Velaryon said that her ship was last seen going to Ashai, the shadowland...
My theory is that MELISANDRE (ELISSA+ANDREW=ELISSANDREW) went to Ashai and learned the dark magic of shadows , that's why she can give birth to shadows (Stannis). After that, she went from Ashai to Essos and that's how Daenarys eggs were in Essos, those 3 dragon eggs are the dragon eggs that Elissa stole in the first place, then Elissa(Melisandre) gave herself to R'lhor and became a red priest.
That's my theory, when she had to make a new name for her she mixed Elissa and Andrew and got Melisandre.
What do you think? Trust me, search the story of Ashai, Elissa and Melisandre

There are multiple story lines they could include too but honestly there's a lot for them to handle for the main story. I can see it being good for them to spend a bit more time with less major players to flesh out the story and have us more invested in groups from both sides, but I trust they'll find a good balance. I don't think you have to worry - the Dance is as close to GoT as anything in the world of ice and fire.

Audible has been sponsoring my channel for a while now with free trial memberships. There was a button in the settings I was supposed to click to let my viewers know that at the beginning that I didn't know about.

I'm disappointed the Long Night is abandoned, but seeing how many in the fandom only accept the written word of our Lord Grrrm, and anything else is blasphemy... I'll take what I'm given and I'm glad we're getting some prequels, even if it's more of stupid rulers destroying the country cuz they can't get along with their siblings. It's such a tired trope, but hey HBO budget sized dragons, eye porn for sure.

i am happy that they cancelled the long night. it is boring. starks are boring. targaryens are the most interesting house with all their family drama. starks fan base is big because they are the good guys and have most povs in the main series.
