Squad is pretty realistic honestly, and far more than Tarkov. Speaking as a former soldier. What's plaguing the realism of Tarkov are bad maps (very man-made instead of based on real nature), and a game engine that does not really allow for long-range combat. The close quarter in Tarkov is par none, however, and it's definitively more hardcore than most other games. The most realistic IMHO is still Arma, though, but it's also more buggy and experimental, while Squad offers a nice middle ground.
HABs are the spawns you build for the hole team, the one that is built like a bunker. It is not "the bunkers that you build" (Edit: because there is two kinds of bunkers. One is called "indirect fire bunker". The HAB one is actually the "whole-team-spawn") Thx for the video

i feel attacked 😂 im the guy who doesnt play the tutorial and is in my first match asking people how to get in a vehicle or in the middle of a fire fight and in the controls menu trying to figure out how to change the zeroing on my gun lmfao
I reinstalled Squad and am gonna try it again after a couple years. First time I tried I got put in squads with people who thought they were in the actual military and were screaming/yelling/kicking anyone who didn't immediately follow orders. Got old and I uninstalled after a couple hours.
Both are pretty different but Arma is a lot more complex than Squad is so I'd personally go with squad. I also made a video talking about my favorite tactical shooters awhile ago. There are some simpler ones there if you wanna check it out.

I really wanna buy this game… just I’m hesitant as I’m only 15 and worried that if I join a server I’ll get brainfucked by some >20 year old dude that just doesn’t like children. I’m not a squeaker just my age has been used as an insult before and I can’t beat players with skill as you said in the video… too slow paced for it. Honestly, I started playing when I was about 17, and as you maybe be able to hear my voice cracks a ton still. I could totally pass as 15 if I felt like it haha. For the most part I don't think other players will be an issue, at least not seriously. There might be some off-hand teasing, but generally they don't care as long as you aren't a jerk . So you should be good!

Looked for a balance between ARMA and CS - found Insurgency which (on realism/ hardcore servers with focus on tactics) is actually pretty cool. However, think I want to try out something even more tactical, but I can't figure out if I should go with the hard-to-learn-but-when-you-have-seems-amazing-ARMA, or Squad which seems more easygoing at first, but without as many possibilities .. I mean, I like mil-sim now, but what if I wake up tomorrow wanting to play StaR waRz-siM? :( .. Joking. And I'm a dad, so it's okay to make bad jokes. Can Squad be played in vs. AI mode? Like PVE? After 15+ years of playing online FPS shooters (mostly competitive CS), I've grown fond of PVE as ppl joining those servers are most often there for the same reasons as I, no or very little toxicity, to learn the game and very often to play tactical.
Pretty much. When a radio is placed a FOB is created, but an SL can't do it alone. They need a Logi nearby and another team member aswell. Just make sure to remember that the FOB is the circled aread around that radio. To spawn there HAB's need to be placed within that circled aread (the FOB).
IMO Squad isn't fun and it's just a Arma 3 ripoff down to the keybinds. The game only has bigger servers and better graphics but overall worse everything else.

Yah, Squad isn't cheap. Keep your eye out for sales and free weekends! OWI does them pretty regularly.
