I just got one of these and I tell you for the price you can’t beat it....it’s impressive it’s not DJI Mavic mini but it’s by far the best entry-level drone

This is a very good "starter" drone. If you're new to drones and flying, you can buy this one and learn the basics for a decent price. When you're ready to start recording, buy a drone that's good for it. Also this one has a long flight time, which helps.

Most reviewers only make videos about DJI and AUTEL drones, so if there is nothing new, they have nothing to talk about.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 A week or 2 ago, I went out to our local radio controlled air field. There was a drone out them from Autel, alone with 1 of their members (Jon McBride). They were testing some new software or upgraded software. This was a good sized drone. Altitude is 22,000 feet; Range is 18 miles; Cruising Speed is 40mph and I think he said it could fly for 2 hours.

Great Review Cap, I actually like it. As you know I have the Bugs 4w 4k, that is my first GPS Drone, but I am thinking that my next drone has to be the Mavic Mini. Just for the range you know and the camera 📸 lol but I'm impressed by the quality of video on this and it's speed. Very cool 👊💯

I paid about $148.00 USD but I bought the "FLY MORE" package as it's called and boy am I glad I did. For what it is andbwhat I need it for right now holy cow what an impressive little quad. thanks for the review of the drone captain D!, well presented as always, i thought this would have cost approx £140/$180 us dollars but its around £115/$150 (no. of batteries options make it vary a bit), i agree with the comments that an sd card and even a 2 axis gimbal would have made this much better at a marginally higher cost. I have a question though, whilst the 4k 20fps is okay-ish, is the camera mode switchable to a better frame rate in 1080p/2.7k via the app? or just fixed at 4k?

Another great video Cap'n! I'm currently flying the Eachine E511s as my starter drone while I save up for a Mavic Mini. If this one had been on the market when I got the E511s, I would have definitely opted for this for the flight time alone, but now that I've discovered how much I love this hobby, it's Mini or nothing. Very good review Captain Drone👍, i just ordered one at Banggood because it is not expensive and i am a beginner (€115 2batt 1000mtr + bag) inclusive transport costs. 🌷
I got the EX5 the basic model and took it out since it had the styrofoam and put it in a small lunch box works perfect
This is a pretty good quad for the buck. It has brushless motors AND optical flow sensor for all sake!! All other mini clones fall short next to this one. Now if they would have added just even a simple two-axis gimbal on this drone- it would be a done deal for me. I think Eachine did a great job with this one. And you as well with the video of course. Nice reviewed . I like it.. all function work much more stable then Heron X9. Video quality o-k-ish but take quite good picture.(what can you expect for a cheap drone) I paid $180 CA +2 battery.One thing I like is that you can fly using controller or phone only that mean you can put her in your pocket you are all set.

You could see the video shake when you were standing still in the beginning (Just after take off). Would be nice if it had at least a 2 axis gimbal. Don't understand how a micro SD card slot would add a lot of cost to the drone.

It is a nice drone I like the design of the drone but I don't like the camera a lot but it has cool features to and it is an awesome drone

Youngster! :) You've got many years drone flying left. In the UK, the 250gm limit will be biting soon, so this is an interesting drone to me, or I have to pay to get an A2 CofC to continue with my JJRC X11 (680gm)
After watching several YT vids, I finally broke down and bought the Mavic Mini ... and nearly lost it 3 times largely due it not having front or back sensors. And while $460, in the grand scheme of things, isn't a lot of money, losing it to a tree would have been down right painful. So with the 15% Best Buy "restocking" fee (about $75) in mind, I reluctantly returned it. I then purchased this one from Banggood. At checkout, it said to expect it by September 22nd, but it arrived within a week and a half. A nice surprise. It sure looks like a Mini - and from afar, you wouldn't be able to tell them apart. But after flying the DJI, this is like going ten steps backward. It is so unstable even with the slightest breeze -- and even with no breeze -- like inside -- it cannot even hover on one spot. I have to constantly do inputs just to keep it from drifting. And the effort to return it -- which I'm sure they're banking on -- it's just not worth to go through all that effort to return it, in my opinion, of course. While I love Captain Drone's reviews -- especially when he's attired in a t-shirt and shorts :) -- there's should always be trepidation to purchase anything when the person doing the recommendation is receiving a commission of sorts -- even at low price points. No malice or disrespect intended CD. And keep in mind folks, this is not a toy. It can cause serious injury in the wrong hands -- especially this one. Anyways, I would NOT recommend it. If you're bent on getting one this size, save up or "bite the bullet" or just get one if $400, plus, is a breeze and get the Mini -- or one in a similar price bracket. It's worth the $. For me, however, the Air is the only logical next step.
@@gimpman1357 Same here, I got my EX5 among the first ones and I've not yet got Android App to work. Yes, it works for few minutes, then it crashes (on 5 different phones) and you need to shut down the quad to get it to work again. I didn't expect much from the camera, but video and photo quality looks like 512x384 with 8x8 boxes in it. But not being able to record anything (crash makes you to loose your video) or even being able to see the video coming from the quad, you end up flying line of sight. And there are far better and cheaper drones you can use for that.
@@gimpman1357 I played with the drone last weekend and looks like the older apps (Eachine FPV etc) seem to kinda work.
@@gimpman1357 I have far better FPV drone in my hands, Eachine EX2mini, though I wasn't able to get FPV version of it. But it flies much better than EX5 and it actually has a good controller. For 32€ it was a bargain!

Buy a drone that fits comfortably in your budget. The more you pay, the better the drone. DJI MAVIC MINI is the best super beginner drone.

I recently bought the DJI Mini 2. It's three times what you pay for the EX5, but you really do get what you pay for.
I'm trying to find a drone this size that way I don't have to go to the trouble of registering it but I don't want to spend a bunch of money or have a shaky camera and picture experience any recommendations?

So yeah this brings me to my question, is it possible in any way to attach an insta360 Go to this particular drone? Ex5. 229g + 17g = no problem in weight department......

That's alot more expensive and it's just a jjrc x11 copy so I'd get the original or "the beast pro", 2 drones alot better 👍

Why don't these companies add a 3 axis gimbal to compete with the Mini more directly? I would imagine they could still price the drone well below DJI prices.

Because the gimbal and good camera is the most expensive thing on a drone, and I bet it would be as pricey as a dji mavic mini, if it had gimbal.
I would be more concerned about the lack of SD card support, that most these companies seem to do with these cheaper drones. 3 axis gimbal is asking allot for a budget drone. while an SD card is within a reasonable expectation.

There's people on banggood saying that it does have a gimbal, the product description says it has a gimbal, yet it clearly doesn't - going to be a lot of unhappy people when they see the vibey video. Buy cheap, buy twice...

It seems to be popular with beginners. The other option is an inexpensive drone with a gimbal for smooth video like the CSJX7 PRO

Got mine last week, flown yesterday. Controls are iffy, app keeps crashing when taking pictures (stopped after few times though).
Its a pretty decent budget/toy drone.
Lack of info and availability on replacement blades is pretty big con. Hope Eachine/BG posts info or specific blade replacement info.
PS: anybody have an idea which blades will fit in this Eachine EX5 ?
Do you know if the mavic mini propellers fit on the ex5 I thought I heard they do. I ask because all propellers come from a different country and takes forever to get to me and I can get the mavic mini blades sent to me the next day.

These drones come so close. If they would have just spent the extra $0.11 to put a micro SD card in, this would be a winner.

the last time i was this early the luftwa.. wait wrong thread - the lack of gimbal is the biggest killer otherwise it would be a fun thing to just flyaround - for the price i'd save a little longer and get the proper mini, the longer wait is worth it in the long run, with this after flying around the camera capabilities will limit the fun

It is better than the BUGS 7 for sure. Range... I never tried to hit 1 Km. With budget drones range is hit and miss.

Can you please help. Just purchased this Drone. I like it very much. But I have problems with video recording. Only the down ward camera is recording to the phone memory, the main camera transmits video clips but does not record to the phone. only pictures from the main camera are stored on the phone memory. I had purchased Android 11 phone with 8 GB and 125 Gb internal memory and HELIO 60 PROCESOR hoping this will solve the problem. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
