Welp ill ask here, do you experienced people recommend fly more mini 3 or mini 4 pro? Bear in mind beginner here so only seen/one fought a drone.
Another awesome video. I think this is a good drone to recommend to my friends who are just getting into the hobby. My question is, do the DJI entry-level drones, such as the Mini 4K, have all of the same automated photo and video features as the mid-level and higher end drones. For example all of the "Quick Shots", "Mastershots" & various pano photo capabilities, etc.
Just ordered one... my first drone! Decided that since it is my birthday, and since I trust DJI, it was time to get going. Also happy I don't need a pilot license in USA :)

Can you fly this drone with the phone only or does it have to have the remote? I see you can fly the FIMI X8 mini v2 without the remote. Just curious if you need the remote to fly. Seems kinda cumbersome to have if you’re running and using the tracking

Nice vid . So my old rcn1 from my lost mini2 or 3 pro controller is compatible? if so can i purchase the drone only miss my mini2 as much as 3pro both had a lot of miles but both unretrievable either due to weather and or east tennessee terrain conditions couldn’t locate

Thank you for the video, Billy. I have some questions. It seems to me that this is the same as the Mini 2, and I was wondering if it is compatible with the Mini 2 batteries. Also, do you know what the bit rate on the camera is? Is it the same as the Mini 2? Additionally, I find it strange that the controller has a slightly different product number. Maybe there is a reason for it; possibly it might be compatible with the standard Mini 3 transmitter. Just a wild guess on my part. Thanks again for the video.
Mini 2 2se and Mini 4k same batterys 100 bit rate Controller I heard is good for 4 hours instead of 6 hours but double check this controller will only work with this drone but the RC-N1 controller will also work with this drone also
I have had Autel's for years, but I get disappointed when they don't carry replacement batteries for my older models, so I'm done with them.
Should I be worried that in a few years DJI will discontinue the batteries for this model ?

Man, I remember when I bought the SE as my first drone for $300 2 years ago. Now they have this drone for $300 😂 this one is a much better offering. This airframe is so classic
I have the OG mini and it look just like it..just bought a min 3 pro...but if u can use the remote with the built in screen then u will be alright

Does this drone have a tracker on it? Reason being is I lost my first drone(Eachine EX4) .I was flying it down my street when I lost connection and the drone just flew somewhere and I still haven't got the faintest clue of where it's at. The app for it was really buggy too which didn't help at all with keeping the connection. I kept hitting the return to home but no luck. If it doesn't have a tracker do you think it could be able to fly 100% if I taped a small tracking device on top of the drone
Hey Billy, Thank you for doing an unboxing and first flight. I can think at least a few improvements to make the Mini 4k an upgrade over the Mini 2 or Mini 2SE. It would need to have things such as improved processing power, O3 transmission minimum and a cheaper price than the Mini 2 but it doesn't have those things. Other than that it apears to be a O2 Mini 2 with a C0 lable. Are there any differences between the Mini 2 and DJI Mini 4k? I wonder if or when but, I wonder if they are going to produce a Mini 4 standard with O4 transmision minus the O/A probably less features. Kinda how they made a Mini 3 Pro into a Mini 3 standard.
Strike one of those improvements as it still uses OC2. I think they added C0 label and remote id for better compliance. Strange how its exclusive Amazon only.
@BillyKyle Even with the Mini 4K, as an upgrade from the Mini 2, the quality is incredible!! Cinematic, smooth shots; crisp, clear visual detail; aerial motion just as smooth and good as the Mini 3/4, Air series, Mavic series and the Inspire. Awesome review, Billy!!
As a beginner, can I record in 4K , but play it back on my 1080 TV? Recording in 4K, does it make the 1080 look better? Thanks

But I must say the built quality is better and more compact on the Mini 4k than the Mini pro models joints seem fragile on those long arms in a crash maybe Dji will add the screen controller to the Mini 4k
If I already know I'm going to be shooting with a Mavic 3 Pro down the line, why not just start out with that instead of a "learning drone"? Is there an advantage to doing that?
If you absolutely know you’re going to get a Mavic 3 Pro I would just get the Mavic. You’ll get used to flying it, all of its features, etc. Hard to say when the Mavic 4 is coming out but rumor is Christmas season this year. It’s always a rat race with any rapidly advancing technology though so if it does what you want pull the trigger. Edit: The longer you wait, the more it pays to wait for the next version but I’m sure you know that. I started out with a Mavic Pro 1 and it wasn’t an issue. I still have it as a backup unit.

aka the original Mini 2, first released in 2020. Fair enough, it's a great machine. DJI rebranding what is likely their most reliable, successful and best value for money drones.
I have the Mini 2SE. Buying this would be a waste of my time and money. I’ll wait cause I want to upgrade to their 2024 more high end drones. Thanks for the vid Billy!!!
The built quality is better on the Mini 2 se and 4k and more compact than the pro models I have the mini 3 but i do like the screen controller better

Looks like a dang neat little package. Loving my Mini 4 Pro as a backup, but this is a very solid deal for beginners and/or someone on a tight budget. Be warned though, it's a gateway drug.

No question is dumb. I had a Mini 2. Looking to get this one. And yes, the camera seems "Floppy" and like it might fall off or something, but it won't. Perfectly normal. When the Drone is on the camera "Stiffens up".
I have the Mavic air 2. After purchasing the Avata and flying FPV i don’t use my or have the desire to fly the Air 2

what's the difference in the camera specs from the 2 to the 4k? Are the motors upgraded? same flight times? Same batteries? what about a low light comparison? the mini 2 wass pretty dismal.
Yup all the same. There is no improvements other than maybe the 100mbps
Mini 2 is also 100mbs, in fact the mini 4k is a bit worse because it does not have a light in the front

I checked and it doesn't have OcuSync 3.0, just WIFI. OcuSync is much better.

Billy is never off in his recommendation or endorsement. Just a cautionary tip if you are really new to drones; find a calm day and a wide open space with no trees and power poles to get some flying experience. Good luck and welcome to the community😄
So what is the difference between the mini 2 and the mini 4k the only thing is the price they both are 4k, so why is the mini 2 price still at 600 dollars, make it make sense and why nobody is talking about the likeness of these drones and the mini 2 the content creators are not mentioning the mini 2 but they are mentioning the mini se and the mini 3 and 4 but not the mini 2. At least they could have given it ocusync 4. Im just saying Billy.
Two key reasons the Mini 2 is better, wifi quick transfer, and DJI released the Mini 2 SDK, so 3rd party app compatibility (like Litchi) give advanced features like follow, points of interests, and waypoints. So, if you're a beginner and want maximum bang for your buck and longevity, get a DJI certified refurb Mini 2 over this. DJI Refurb is as good as new (like Apple).
Its sad that the Mini2 was discontinued or you can buy a Mini 4k combo and buy a second mini 2 just the drone and have 2 same batterys would work on it
