- This week we go one step at a time to cover everything you need to know before going to the drag strip. Much of this will apply to the dyno as well.

So cool seeing these videos bought a 1994 Ford ranger XLT 2.3 L running and driving for $200. So motivational makes me want to put a turbo on mine.😂
Oh nice! It's getting hard to find one that cheap now.
Niiiicccee! Went to first autocross event today on 88 n/a 2.3 mustang, the only other mustang there was a beautiful 67 with a big block.. my beater 2.3 was 7 seconds faster
Haha wow. That's amazing
My stock 2.3 ranger has open lug nuts on it cause I wasn't sure years ago if local track would allow the closed lug nuts 😂
Most places will let it slide regardless
Thanks for the videos. Got me looking for an 80's model ranger to turbo.
Ha nice! Late 80's is even easier to swap than mine.
i feel like the one time I don't trailer it is going to be the time I need the trailer.
🎯🎯🎯 absolutely
I'd just like to say that seeing your turbo Ranger has been a huge motivation for me to venture in to turbo 2.3 land. I have a 94 and already am looking to find a short block for it. I'd love to see more content on the Ranger!!
Awesome. The ranger is probably the most fun cheap thing I've done.
Safety Hand was hilarious 🤣
✋✋✋✋😂
can you make a rear axle swap tutorial for these trucks
This rearend is sort of done but a few others asked so I'll come up with a reason to do a video 😂
It is 💯 the least likely thing to break now.
I'm glad you are keeping up the aame shenanigans we have been seeing for the last 20 years. Hopefully you are getting paid for it meow.
😆 well pennies have to count in this case. There are many shenanigans to come. 🏆
With how hard you bang gears... You may wanna bring a couple of extra shift knobs
😂💪 I'll just keep snapping the shifter off until it's a nub.
I have a ranger 1998 I have a 2.5 l I can't find any information on Turbo exhaust manifolds or throttle body systems.. yeah for the 2.5 there's just nothing.. maybe you can help me out thanks
You'd likely have to make something for that. You should at least be able to the exhaust manifold flange to buy to give you a starting point
@@2300gearjammer thanks for your reply 💯🤙🏻
Looking forward to the track video! Also is that a single plug cylinder head?
It's an 8plug head I only use 4 though. Budget cuts. Lol
How do you get the 8 plug efi system and everything to work with a turbo. I've got a 97 and I'm wanting to add some power but not ridiculous amount.
I haven't done a 97. I have a local buddy with one. I might do a video of his truck since the electronics are completely different than mine
@@2300gearjammer I look forward to that. Something that'll simplify adding the turbo and making the ecu work
Don't be afraid to remind me because I get crazy busy 😂
I think that the seat belt will come unfastened and the seat belt light will come on and in the event that it does, don't panic, first stomp on the brakes and gas at the same time and snatch the steering wheel towards the center of the track as sharply as possible and hang on, everything should be ok if the truck ever completes its flip cycles at which time if you're upside down try to start the truck so that you can get it to land back on it's wheels and if there's a small fire or a large explosion don't panic just grab your big gulp u got from the convenience store and try to spash it on it and if that fails don't panic just yet just calmly tilt your head as close to your ass and give it a nice little smooch and tell it good bye 😝😆🤪
😂 my first thought always, I'm going to have to hit read more. 🤣
@@2300gearjammer 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂Read more
Where and when you planning to run at? Might have to see about getting my car out to the track for the first time.
That's a really good question. Its most likely to be shadyside but could also be Greer and we will try to make it on TNT Thursdays as I get moving on the pinto
@@2300gearjammer how far is union from you? I hear they have a good track, I’ve been a few times but never personally ran. I’ve only been down at ware shoals, they have a crap track but my stuff has never made enough power to matter 😂
@@robbie103106 I havent run ware shoals but I looked it. Lol I would take the ranger there. That's about it. Union is maybe 1.5hr-ish. I really like that track.
@@2300gearjammer let me know on Facebook if you decide to go to ware shoals one night… or union. I’ll try to show up. Found 2 broken studs on the turbo side of my manifold, so I’ve got to tear it off and get them replaced soon.
That explorer rad just bolt right in?
Yeah, I’m curious what Explorer radiator you are using too. Isn’t the 2.3 hoses reverse of the 3.0 & 4.0?
It is. I might have mixed it up and run the explore in my white mustang. Whatever I found was bigger than the one that busted. I'll figure it out put it in the comments here when I look at it again.
How much hp?
It made 79whp before the turbo swap and I haven't had a chance to get back. I'm guessing it's around 220whp like it sits. I'll turn up this fall
2300gearjammer 220whp is pretty good.
@@2300gearjammer wow, this si awesome. I have a 93 Ranger in a pretty good shape, but when i go to the mountains, the engine loose almost all the power, but in the beach works pretty good. I'm in arround 1,500meters up to the sea, and i thinking about a turbo or supercharger to create 1Bar of pressure. But now i see your project and my mind blow up. Can You tell me more about your componentes?
Brand and model of the turbo, intercooler, fuel pump.
What another things do You need to make the swap with the turbo.
Beforhand thanks a lot.
And sorry for My bad English i'm from GDL, Jalisco, México.
…you can have a “fire event”…. 😂
