I logged hundreds of hours into the 3DS game. This is everything I wanted and more. Easily my most anticipated Switch title of the next year.
ONLY downside is no fun street passing maps.

Sure, Curtain Call was supposed to be the last one. Huge surprise they brought it back.
The Theatrhythm games were one of my biggest guilty pleasures back in the 3DS.

Personally, I’m hoping to see more stuff from Heavensward/Stormblood in this version. As much as I love Shadowbringers and Endwalker, I don’t think SE wants Nintendo to give the players unintentional spoilers.

but it got in the last FFTheatrythm game some attention too with quite some songs.

The arcade version had some heavensward stuff including an alexander medley

Dont sleep on this game, the 3DS one was amazing.
I have two wishes.
1 - that one of the undisclosed DLC packs is from Bravely Default. I'll be very disappointed if it isn't.
2 - an updated version of Special Arrange Medley from Curtain Call. I cry every time I play that.
Hoping they not only bring the Bravely Default back, but also add (from all of the series, more of the first, Bravely Second and Bravely Default II)

Never thought we'd get another Theatrhythm game. I love playing Curtain Call from time to time. With Nier dlc coming, hopefully we can play as 2B.
They released All-Star Carnival for arcades.
But what would've been a miracle if they actually decided to launch one based in Dragon Quest to the west.

Master Sugiyama passed away 2 years ago, also it is already overcomed, few people shares his views or thinks he was correct.
I don't see a problem, because he must be valued for what he did in life, in this case, wonderful music, not his personal believes or subjective views, like Tolkien, you don't need to agree with him as a person, in order to enjoy Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit or Silmallirion.

It's getting 6 tracks in the first season pass. You can see most of the games listed in the season passes in the Premium Digital Deluxe Edition on Nintendo's website (link in the video's description). There are two mystery packs in the third season pass, and I'm personally hoping for Bravely Default to come back.

So happy to see a new Theatrhythm game. I've put 300+ hours into Curtain Call and bought all the DLC--absolutely love it! This was easily the highlight of the Direct for me, and I cannot wait for this to come out in February. Very happy to see Crystal Chronicles is included again, but I'm _REALLY_ hoping that one of those two mystery song packs in the third season pass is Bravely Default!
Not gonna lie, this announcement was probably the most excited for in this direct. I absolutely loved the first game on 3DS and I really hope they will add Bravely Default music as part of the DLC.
Yessss finally. Theaterhythm is the only game to perfectly capture both rpg and rhythm. Gives you something to shoot for besides just better scores on a leader board. And also doesn't hurt its some of my favorite music in gaming.

I remembered so fondly the original Theatrhythm Final Fantasy on the 3DS, even with the Bravely Default DLC! I’m so happy to hear pieces from XIV here too! Can’t wait for this one!
Hope we get the Bravely Default tracks again... Let one of the mysterious games on the DLC be BD!

I was thinking songs like Battle at the Big Bridge and J-E-N-O-V-A looked overwhelming, but that's because they added a difficulty over Ultimate Score, based on the top left
There's a ton of great announcements this direct like Fire Emblem, Octopath Traveler 2, ToS Port to Switch, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Front Mission 1-3, etc. But this is my favorite announcement.

Oh hey, this looks like it's built off the arcade version! Really cool to finally see the additions to All-Star Carnival make their way to a home version!
So excited for this! Was doubting we'd get another game in this series, but so happy we did! Also, I'll gladly take any breadcrumbs of Chrono Trigger. Not a fan of some ff songs being locked in a deluxe edition thou.....
I just hope they put back the Bravely Default ost, plus Bravely Default 2 and even Bravely Second (Battle of Providence would be amazing). Too niche to put again? I don't care, I love the ost so much

@@whim165 At the very least, I'd think the DLC packs, if not the individual songs (we don't know this yet), should be a much cheaper alternative if _everything_ isn't of interest.

Ill never understand day 1 dlc though...
There are 385 songs in the base game, 27 more for the special edition leaving just 3 packs of 30 (90 total) for DLC. A game like this actually makes more sense to have DLC extra songs than most games.

I can't wait for this! I played this on 3ds and absolutely loved it, one of my favorite rhythm games ever.
Finally, love this franchise. I hope they'll slide some Kingdom Hearts tracks in the DLCs.

Massive fan of Rhythm games! Loved FFT: Curtain Call on the 3DS & the Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory game, so I'm pretty keen for this one!

The rest of the Direct was good but I screamed out loud to this one. The 3DS games were my most played games until the SD card died on me. Still find it weird that XV didn't get any songs in Curtain Call despite Somnus being in the OG, but I'm looking forward to this version.

In case you didn't know, you can re-download the games to a new SD card. The purchases are linked to your account. Hopefully you didn't think that you lost everything you had (your save files are toast, though).

@@DameonStarflame Now that I don't know. I'm not confident enough to give you a definitive answer. That being said, you still have at least six and a half months to get a new card and re-download them. You don't have to buy them again.
I know the trailer says the digital deluxe edition will have exclusive songs but I hope that you can at least purchase them separately if you're like me and prefer to have physical copies of games. Other than that I'll definitely be getting this, I loved the 3ds games.
This is the tough decision I'm having to make too. I prefer buying physical games, but it's only confirmed for the standard edition. On the other hand, I bought all the DLC for Curtain Call, so I want everything for this one too. I think the songs were only $1 each? The base game is $50, and the Digital Deluxe Edition has 27 songs + 30 in the season 1 pass for $80, so it's like $0.50 per additional song. But the Premium Digital Deluxe Edition has another additional 60 songs from the season 2 and 3 passes for $100. That's also $0.50 per song. Makes it tough for me to buy the physical version if doesn't include those 27 songs and if buying passes individually will cost more.

I played Theatrythm and Curtain Call for soooooo many hours. I never even played 13 and yet I loved playing its songs all the time.
I bought much of the DLC songs too. So excited to see Octopath, Chrono Trigger, and more Mana songs available!
Oh man this game. I played it ALL the time. Walking around, sitting down...the feel of getting everything 100% was just way too good.
Also, I really enjoyed their Bravely Default music too, I hope they include that in this version!

@@Zenocide finally someone else that mentioned it. Yeah this is def built off the arcade version. They had to shut down the online servers for it due COVID heavily impacting the arcade gaming scene in Japan (maybe a few months after Dissidia shut down their's). This is there way to fix a lot of that money lost during that period of time.
Almost my entire life, I have been interested in Final Fantasy & rhythm games. I never owned a 3DS, so this is the first time I can actually play it and, oh lord, am I hyped.
Theatrhythm is BACK baby! Absolutely love these games! Can't wait to play all the songs in the game!

Dude! Literally 3 weeks ago I was looking up Theatrythm to see if it was also on the switch (Since I gave my 3DS to my brother) And I was disappointed to see that it was not.. But now I am happy to see that it will be!

Okay, I liked the 3DS one, but it always lacked one thing for me. FE, I was always kinda bothered that the only characters from 7 we didn't get were Cid... and the two non-humans. The non-humans are always my faves. In fact, they're usually the only characters I do like. Seeing we at least get Red XIII in this one (and from the looks of it, playable Moogle and Chocobo) makes me happy, especially since he wasn't in the other Theatrythm games.
This series was my first true introduction to Final Fantasy because I only had Nintendo handhelds and was still in school at the time. Also for some reason The first theaterrhythm demo never had a limited amount of uses. It just said unlimited. So I'm glad that this series is finally coming to switch.
I want this, mind you, but could we get a Dragon Quest Theatrythm in the West too, please?
This game not only for me to love rhythm games but I personally logged hundreds of hours on both of the 3DS titles and I am SUPER STOKED for this release. Easily my number 1 win from this direct for next year.
Now I don't remember how long the songs were in the other games, but averaging 2.5 minutes per song the main game and DLC is 21 hours of music. You have to play the game for 21 hours just to play all the songs once.
really hope an arcade controller, official or fan made, gets released with this. would be so much fun
