The artist of these games really know what's best doesn't he?
That thumbnail especially ❤
I wish, someday he will know how to design his characters and their costumes either
They were deliberating how ryza was going to look up until the last minute in her first game. They did put a lot of thought into her design.
@@user-jd3bv3vh8j It's ok to be wrong
Toridomono is the artist I believe and yes he knows
You gotta admit the "Thighza" meme brought the series a lot of attention, but you also gotta admit the gameplay and story kept it popular enough to get it here.
Absolutely. I know quite a few people, myself included, who got into Ryza because of the meme, but stayed for the game, story, music, etc. It's it's all pretty great. A few of us have gone back to check out prior entries too. I'm currently playing through Sophie 2, myself. c:
@@winterfire567 I definitely bought the first one initially because people were mad over it. Nowadays i completely forgot about that and just really like thegames
Sophie I hear is similar
Ryza bringing the T&A. Thighs and Alchemy.
Two aspects that should have been brought up together coz of how important they are.
She is the full thigh alchemist
Of course there was going to be a third one. Ryza breathed so much new life into the series.
There's always a trilogy with each atelier game
She's really breathtaking.
@@JunkoLuna But never one character as the protagonist for the trilogy.
@@mira-uf1ie Plus, with Lulua and Sophie 2, some are starting to bleed over in quadrilogies. EDIT: I suppose Iris did get a trilogy to herself, though, eh?
I feel like Ryza is so good bc her series did it right. Keep the same protag for each series. I know the formula is good bc the second they released Sophie 2, that game was a freaking god send for me. You also don't need to waste time building your audience to like the new protag in every title in a trilogy if we are already invested in the protag each game.
I feel this is always the way it goes for me & maybe it's like this for others:
First alchemist in Trilogy: Always peak & my fav lead alchemists in both the trilogy & the Atelier series in general. (Rorona, Ayesha, Sophie)
Second alchemist in trilogy: Tends to be awesome, but not as good as the previous alchemist in said trilogy. (Totori, Escha/Logy, Firis)
Third alchemist in the trilogy: Literally, these are among my least favorite among lead alchemists, both in designs & personalities. (Meruru, the Shallies, Lydie/Suelle)
Based on this i'd say the magic trilogy formula (for me) is:
first game: X character
second game: New Y character
third game: Back to X character
So excited for another journey with Ryza & Friends again! The first 2 games were such a joy! 💖
The Ryza games are gems. The first game grabbed me with the aesthetic and art design for the characters. Even the landscapes were gorgeous imo. Gameplay was interesting enough but you could feel it had room for improvement.
Second game completely nailed the combat. It was sooo smooth and fluid. Monumental leap. I'm hoping the third refines that even further. The min maxing alchemy stuff is definitely spreadsheet territory if you're into that. I had to pull up a few tabs online to keep up lol.
Thanks a ton for spotlighting this Nintendo!

For me the best bit of each Atelier game is the soundtrack, and the Ryza Trilogy absolutely knocks it out of the park with each entry.

Atelier Ryza: The alchemist of the thickest and juiciest thighs
The 1st Ryza game introduced me to the franchise, it now holds a place in my heart as one of my favourite franchises of all time, I'm so excited for the 3rd installment of Ryza's story!
Did you play any of the other Atelier games after Ryza?

It's really a shame that this trailer kinda got drowned out in a sea of farming simulators and generic RPGs during the last Nintendo direct. If you know anything about Atelier Ryza, you know how BIG this announcement was. Looking forward to this one for sure!
Ryza is thicker than ever.
When she went back to her secret hideout an Said bye bye I nearly cried we grew on this journey with Ryza and her friends now she's all grown up 😢😭
Man, whoever did the thumbnail is definitely a cultured fellow
True. I can’t unsee Ryza as a giant now LMAO
Let's hope Bos will be playable this time around! ^^
There is a Bos trailer, with him being shown in combat. You got your wish.
Boz needed to have his adventure, finally.
thiccness > everything else
And I’m still stuck with the first game because no time to play. At least it’s great to know I have 2 more Ryza adventures waiting for me.

I only recently heard of the series but already played through ryza 1 and almost done with 2 and I can say I can’t wait for the third! I was afraid of the combat system but I surprisingly found it super fun, esp in 2 with its fluidity, combos and core drives (though I missed the roles and more varied action orders from 1). As for the alchemy, synthesis is super intriguing as well, though I admit I don’t always make the most of every material 😅 Excited to see what 3 has in store for us! And I’m so glad to be able to have Bos in my party finally!
Lmao @ played through ryza 1 😂😂😂
The music starting at 0:37 gave me serious Mario Galaxy vibes. Good stuff.
More like kirby
I thought the music sounded very similar to the first opening song of the anime: Ancient Magus Bride.
Regardless, it’s awesome
With Ryza it's cute since we get to see them grow up with each new series.
Ryza's thighs could feed a whole family wtf.
Ryza: Breath of the Waifu
Hahaha 😂
Ryza for the next smash bros game!!!
Looking back, it’s honestly so cool that Ryza 2 and 3 were first announced during Nintendo Directs. It goes to show how well the Ryza games have done on switch. I love playing every Ryza game in the trilogy, I need to finish the third game. In the future I might double dip and get all 3 games on Steam in addition to already having all of the trilogy physical on Switch. I’m so excited for the Ryza anime that’s coming in a week!
This, Fire Emblem, and Ocotpath 2? I am eating good this winter.
don't forget suikoden 1&2 HD remaster.
Fire emblem is lame
This game looks so good! I got hooked with the second one, and I’m hoping this third game will deliver!
I was introduced to Ryza games with, oddly enough, Mana Khemia 1. It holds a very place in my heart because I've never seen a jrpg in that aspect at the time of its release and i got that game as a gift from someone who didn't know me well. I didn't expect to enjoy Mana Khemia 1 as much as I did and thus was introduced to Atelier games. I'm glad that random person, at the time, heard game and assumed I would love. Ironiclly enough its a top PS2 game of mine now and forever.
MK is my favorite spin-off too. Battle system so complex and fun and fantastic detalied sprite characters!
So I got to tell you this right now. I have a bit of a confession to make. I've never played an Atelier Ryza game let alone an atelier game. I saw this game in the direct and then last night I saw this trailer and I'm like, you know...... I missed out. Atelier Ryza was something that went completely under my radar
Haven’t played the first two games, but will be getting this one via preorder as soon as possible. Mainly because, although not shown here but in the Direct version, she gets to ride a dolphin. Always wanted a game where you can ride a dolphin.
Wave race 64 you can ride a dolphin, 20 years ago
I definitely recommend picking up the first 2. While you probably don't need to play them before umping into this one, there are a lot of story and character moments that have better payoffs when you have the context of the previous events
@@yeahtbh.161 Not as a means of transportation. Though I have not played WR64, the dolphin in that game was just another sports craft, that needed to be unlocked. I mean as an actual beast of burden like in this game.
@@Darkpyromaniac16 Not a problem, played some series without playing the first. Haven't played the first Legend of Heroes games, started with Cold Steel arc. Briefly played (Vita version) Borderlands 2, haven't played the first BL. Playing (Switch version) Skyrim, the fifth Elder Scrolls, haven't played any others. As you can tell, playing a game series without playing the first game(s) is not new to me.
I'm in the middle of playing Ryza 1 for the first time, and I'm so glad that a 3rd game is coming out soon!
Get ready becauze atelier ryza 2 is on a whole other level!
do you like it? Im going to have to pick it up. As far as the whole main line series goes, I find myself wanting to go all the way back but it seems some of the older games are difficult to get.
@@nicho-uyx1287 i prefer it waaaay more than atelier ryza 1. Because it feels like a beach episode anime. Tons of fun for sure. Patricia for the win!

That theme song thooooooo. NEED this song on my biking mix when it comes out. I've been known to add songs from anime from time to time. In fact, I've added the theme song from the first Atelier ryza game
I love how the gameplay is so much fluid in this game.
I'm excited that boss finally join the party!

Man I'll be honest, I haven't been able to enjoy an Atelier since Dusk, and haven't loved one since Iris. Glad it's doing well with Ryza, bc Gust was a big part of my childhood and I want them to be successful, though I miss back when the games cared more about story.
The MC got some bigo thicc sandwich me thunder thighs ZAMN 🥵
This game looks neat, although I know nothing about it. Is it possible to jump into the third? Do I have to play the first two?
Yes and no. There is never the *need* to play Atelier games in a specific order. Each story stands on its own and can be enjoyed alone. Of course the experience is a lot better if you play them all in order. But it’s never necessary, not with this trilogy, nor any other game in the Atelier series. However you WILL miss out on major character development, the feeling of getting attached to them over the course of 3 games, backstories, and other story related things. If you don’t mind not understanding certain references here and there, you can absolutely start here. I actually started with Ryza 2 myself, jumping into it right after playing Lulua, and it was fine, but then I got frustrated at not understanding references, and curiosity got the best of me, so I stopped halfway through to go play Ryza 1. It was definitely not necessary, but it felt right lol. So you do you! Welcome to the fandom, I hope! The games are great! ☺️
@@nova-kiin that makes sense, thanks for explaining! If I'm being 100%, the current, sole driving factor behind my interest is "cute anime girl, simp mode activated," but people here say it's good, so I think it's worth trying. The first two appear to be on Switch, so if I'm ever interested in giving them a try to learn the back story, I will do that. Thanks again :)

How does someone get into this series now? I have no idea where to start, there’s so many of these games.
But I loves me a good jrpg, so it’s always been on my radar.
You can start with Atelier Ryza 1) Playing at previous games is not necessary and Ryza-series is very friendly to newcomers.
