  • In my previous video's I have installed speakers into my headrests, I explained what kind of impedance the new speakers need to be and how to wire them in parallel or in series. In this video I am going to run new cables from the rear channels of my head unit and connect them to my new headrest speakers.

    I love the rage comics you put in all your videos, great videos dude! A lot of time and effort goes into every one and they're really entertaining to watch. Looking at different cars as getting a new one in a few months and got a few on my mind but your videos are definitely making me lean towards an older Miata- they're good cars, but most importantly for me they're cheap to insure with mods and your videos will help me mod mine :)

      Thanks man! NA all the way! The pop-up headlights are the best! My tip: Try finding one with little to no rust because bodywork is the most expensive part. Where are you from? I hope you join the Miata community!

      MiataMods I live in the U.K., I've been looking and I think I'll probably go with a slightly newer 2005 MK3 as it has low mileage. Was unable to find any MK1s with pop up headlights unfortunately, but I'll keep an eye out!

    I love your videos because they are different in one VERY important way. Many owners of this car are first time drivers (I.e. a crowd much younger than you or I) and your videos do not show any vulgarity, obscene references nor bad influence. Matter-of-fact you seem like an educated dude on CZcams and this type of influence and vibe goes a long way on an internet full of trash and dirty references on other channels. Thanks for keeping it professional.

      @MiataMods  Před 7 lety +3

      First off, thanks :) Secondly, it's a console from IL Motorsport:

      You got one with and one without cupholders. Thanks for watching!

    Great video. I own a 2018 MX-5 RF which have headrest speakers installed. My question: The headrest speakers are not connected to receive music, just audio for navigation and phone system. Is there a modification so that they can be used for music too? There is also no backup camera. Any suggestions as to how a camera can be installed, utilizing the present screen?

    • @MiataMods
      @MiataMods  Před 6 lety

      Congrats on buying the RF, I love that car! It's a bit weird that the headrest speakers produce sound, but they don't play music. It's all connected to your head-unit right? Or is the navigation and phone system a separate unit? About the backup camera; it seems you have an option to install a (aftermarket) unit. If you search 'ND RF Backup Camera' on youtube you can find a video covering that topic. Unfortunately the video is not in English but it can give you an idea what you need to do to install a backup camera.

    I really should rewire mine. My miata is set up with the driver headrest speakers both being rear left and passenger headrest speakers both being right rear.

    • @MiataMods
      @MiataMods  Před 7 lety

      I think it will not make much difference but for the best sound, yeah it's a good idea to rewire them ☺️

    Hi, I know it's not related to the video, but I would love to know about the cup holders. Did you buy them, made them? How hard was to set them up? Awesome vids!
    I'm thinking about doing the cold air intake, somewhat like yours, but I'm missing the metal plate you made.
    Anyway, keep up the great vids so noobs like me don't mess up their Miata's.

      It’s a aftermarket center console from a company called IL Motorsport which cost me about €220,-. It’s pretty expensive but I LOVE the cupholders and the longer arm rest.. easily one of the best mods! Haha no problem man, glad to hear my videos are helpful! Good luck with the DIY intake! 👍

    maar heb wel een vraag werken deze dingen ook allemaal met de nb mazda mx5 maar dan de originele radio of heeft het daar niks mee te maken?

    • @MiataMods
      @MiataMods  Před 6 lety

      Dat ligt eraan hoeveel uitgangen de radio heeft. Als deze 4 uitgangen ondersteund is het allemaal mogelijk. Als de kabels er zelfs liggen, is het helemaal makkelijk. Radio loshalen en aan de achterkant kijken dus

    That's a lot of work for wiring the headrest speakers. You really can't get decent sound from the headrest no matter what speakers you have so I feel all that work is not justified. I just upgraded my door speakers and added a subwoofer.

    • @MiataMods
      @MiataMods  Před 4 lety

      You are underestimating how good it sounds when you have sound coming from the front AND back. It sounds so good, and on the highway you can hear the music so much better. So yeah, it’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it if you ask me
