This guide saved my marriage
I wish i had a joke for this
Save me too
I assume your marriage with a phantom?
@@crazyteck99 200 IQ joke, you won ;_;
so... you just Ilgrants with your Rod? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Idk what’s more entertaining, learning all the ins and outs of phantom, or listening to phantom players try to pronounce the German names 😂
I fully get what u mean
The visual presentation of this guide is majestic. The beautiful no UI showcase of moves, the way your character was presented across the video, and that fantastic intro. Fantastic.
Believe me, uioff gameplay is the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life
I loved the "the game is about having fun. If you're having fun, you are a true winner," part. So kind.
This is truly Amazing!
you sir are also truly amazing
Bookmarking this for Rifle Phantom!
this set me straight with how to play rifle phantom :)
My big brain moment - inspecting his back-palette and realizing weapon action is not visible anywhere; it must be keybound... a precious slot becomes available. Action bar space and keybind flexibility is such a bottleneck in this game - such hacks should be public.
@@jonathanbraithwaite7063 few weeks after post but in the event this helps you, I use forward button on mouse for weapon actions and back for dodging
@@jonathanmurray4136 Effectively, this is exactly how I play phantom rifle (and I like it) - I bound forward thumb click to weapon palette 3rd slot where my weapon action lives. The (very) good: shift + forward thumb is also used often, making finger movement very efficient, the (very) bad: weapon action takes up a UI slot. Middle mouse, sniper button, DPI up and down are bound to slot 6-9 via mouse software, and call up sub-palette is bound to "R," so I move palette cursor to 0 when I log in.
I'm starting to suspect the reason there isn't more binding and general UI flexibility is to prevent a widening advantage of keyboard over controller use. I would love for keybind settings to recognize ctrl + keystroke input, to allow bindings to a second sub-palette's slots, etc., all things perfectly normal in other PC apps and MMO's. Changing weapon palette with ctrl + mousewheel would also help many accidental inputs when using middlemouse click. I think the hamstringing of the UI is (at least partially) intentional.
Just started playing with friends again after nearly 10 years and found myself vibing with Phantom a lot. Appreciate your hard work on this guide, will definitely be referring back to it!
As someone whose two favorite pre-scion classes were Katana Braver and Ranger - Phantom is my favorite cause it feels like it meets me in the middle but also adding some edginess.
I think the most useful thing out of this guide for me (aside from dps combos since I didn't know those) was a good showcase of Katana. I was under the impression that Katana wasn't really respected since the game has a rigid class meta and i've been told Braver Katana is better. I set out to learn Katana and Rifle for my phantom to see this for myself. I appreciate this video because it proves to me that Katana Ph can absolutely hold it's own and do respectable damage. It just requires a lot of learning and practice. But that's fine with me. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much for this extensive guide, I know it might be very difficult to condense so much info in just 45 minutes but I really appreciate the effort you put in this project. I would love to see a video about gearing because I actually don't know which units and weapons are better for this class. As always I hope you're ok and again thank you for helping us to understand the potential of the class.
Definitely considered! Thank you !
This class has been SO much more fun than bouncer and braver it's kind of insane. Thank you so much for this guide.
omg! I've been looking forward to this! Thank you so much Arcy! I really loved the opening scene! Keep it up!!
Best guide on Phantom I have seen thus far! I'm going to use this as a reference to help myself improve because I'm really enjoying this class. Rifle especially!
You were the reason I was looking forward to successor classes on PSO2 NA.
This is exactly what I was hoping to find when I picked up Phantom, thank you for your guides.
As someone who only came back to pso2 n started as braver, now into phantom, n contemplating on changing cos ppl kept saying phantom was only a rod class, this help so much and this was by far the best phantom guide if seen! thanks for your hard work!
Something to note about Phantom: They are squishy, so you want to land that dodge to avoid taking big damage.
bro we need a full track list for all the songs, the song that starts plays during the class overview is legit.
I played phantom rifle for the first time today. Now it's my fav class/weapon. It's too fun. Something about linking a bunch of attacks together in a buttery smooth motion feels so satisfying. It's unlike any other weapon I've tried so far
I actually activated my Sharingan from this guide
Now time to master it and activate the Mangekyou
I went to play phantom straight away even though I had no clue how to play, but that didn't matter because it's so fun. Now after seeing your video, wanting to master the class makes it so muuuuch entertaining! Great guide!
the only guide i managed to watch till the end, man what a pack a punch guide, imma gonna make use of it to the fullest, thanks
As someone new to PSO2 this was really helpful. Once I maxed out Force, I went right to Phantom, but, wanted something fresh so went with katana vs rod. I’m glad I saw this guide as it helped me tighten up my approach and feel validated in my choice at the same time. Kudos! Now I’m just in that new player grind of trying to get materials for decent semi-end game weapons.
One skill ring I highly recommend equipping is the Phantom lock on (Left) ring because it'll make your ph marker bombs always detonate on the weak point you are locked on to, no matter where you perform that detonation slash/shot.
This was a well put together video! I've been waiting to play Phantom again since I touched it on the JP servers, but this video reallllly helped with understanding it! Thank you for making this!
"Katana is a meme"
That's exactly why I will master it.
Katana is the way of acquiring More Power
@@qohaw_2883 play bury the light as your background music for more power and motivation
Super detailed and helpful guide, i've learned alot from it like using your normal attack for the third hit or zanverse before exploding the mark to deal big damage, such small details that helps alot, you don't see other guides talking about that. This is the best guide i've seen thank you sir.
Thanks for the guide...this video is not only informative, helpful...but a real piece of art....
I love phantom rifle a lot but there isnt a guide to talk about it specifically so this guide really helps a lot. I hope that there will be a phantom gear guide also. Thanks for making this guide!
Thank you for taking your time!
God you don't know how much I needed this due to being clueless when playing the class.
Amazing guide Arcy!
This is exactly what i need bro much appreciated! Im a Ranger main at heart which is why I love playing phantom Rifle. After spamming 4 man Persona triggers for 8 hours (which was good practice lol) it took me that long to actually get my rotations down pack since i was experimenting with different combos with phantom Rifle & with the movement & confidence to play my rifle effectively. Now seeing how you play Rod has made it more attractive to play. I can't wait to start my journey with Rod since i have Rifle down packed. This guild is definitely a good reference point to improve one's dps & who just wanna generally wanna improve overall in this class. Best guide hands down! 💯👍🏿😁😎
oh hell yeah ITS TIME. been waiting for this
Just unlocked phantom last night, and this guide is so helpful.
this video is a work of art and i am excited to try a fancy class for the first time ever soon! love the content
I would like to see gearing guide for phantom, also your guide is very detailed and it helps me a lot. Thank you
Just unlocked phantom and other classes but this was on my eye since I started this game a week ago I’ll consider this guide from now on for revision if am not understanding something about PH thanks for that
as expected from an experienced phantom player, the guide is very thorough and very helpful, thanks for you hard work!
Thank you for taking the time!
This was a really good guide. At first I thought 46 minutes was going to be a too long but it covered a lot of important things and didn't drag on. Rather than being long it was simply comprehensive. Great job!
I really appreciated the showcase of the most useful techniques and also explaining the PAs in great detail. I've been playing phantom a little (lvl 54ish or so) but understanding the differences between various rifle and katana PAs was hard for me, and the difficult names of the PAs aren't exactly making it easier. Using a PA and seeing what it does is so different from understanding what it does or when / in which situation it can be useful. Seeing them in action and used properly is so much different than my poor attempts at practicing them.
Phantom rod was one of the main reasons why I wanted to try phantom. Phantom katana looked really cool in the video and I'm sure it'd be fun to use with enough practice. I don't really have anything against phantom rifle but to me it's not a weapon that would make me say "Wow, this is so cool!". Although, it could be just lack of trying it enough.
One thing I never realized was how great mobility phantom has. For example: 37:41. I had no idea it'd be possible to do something like that with phantom katana. I knew each weapon had PAs for gap closing and movement but it surprised me how versatile movement options really were.
Coming from Techter (new player) and leveling Phantom as a sub, I'm enjoying the range of rifle so much I might not switch back. The mobility built into the PA's is really fun and has me relying on techs less, freeing up valuable palette space. With techter, the lack of palette space and need to switch so often had me grumbling about either the class being broken or the UI simply not supporting it.
Also, keybinding weapon action so it's not on palette is something I learned from scrubbing frames in this video :)
Thank you so much! I literally took notes on this and they were far better notes than most of my school assignments lol.
As a Phantom Katana main, its quite surprising that your video did describe what mostly I did as one. Anyways very nice video!
I don't even play this game anymore but thanks for all your efforts, this is high quality content
I honestly never even thought about phantom being a viable class for me, as I played Hero forever! but after watching this guide, and learning how to phantom rod, not nearly as amazing as yourself, I have learnt to use a phantom class and enjoy this ever so great game again! Thanks!
Best guide to phantom I have found. Great explanations. Great video 👍👍👍
I'm on the JP server and had been using Phantom as my primary go-to class a bit, up until the recent Luster release, but Phantom days were tons of fun, and the class indeed has a irreplaceably special brand of appeal for me even to this day. Watching your video brings back memories of the good times, and helped me in particular better understand rifle, which I had never really been too good at. Very well put together and informative video overall.
I'm not sure if anyone's pointed this out in other comments yet, but I do recommend making one small correction to the shift version of Folter Zeit: it is indeed directionally dependent, but not solely upon the direction in which the character is facing at the time of execution, nor is it limited to slashing in the direction directly opposite to the direction in which the character is facing; rather, it is dependent upon the directional input in relation to the direction in which the character is facing at the time of execution, and the direction of the slash will be opposite to the direction of said directional input. So, for example if my character's forward-facing direction is my right, when I input s-folterzeit, I have a small time window during which I can input, for example, up on my directional input, which would translate into the character's left in the game, and upon the actual execution of s-folterzeit, the character will slash towards me, or in his/her right direction, opposite to the direction I had inputted. (If no directional input is made, then the result will be equivalent to that of a character-forward input, aka slashing in the direction opposite of the direction the character is facing). It gets a bit confusing to explain, and can be a bit tricky to use in battle; what I usually end up doing is to use it only when I'm locked on to something, to ensure that my directions in relation to my character in-game are always the same, as locking on aligns relative directions of character with my own directions.
I do hope katana gets a buff at some point, whether in speed or in some other form, it gets too little love ;w;
We need other CZcamsrs who love their class of choice as much as Azelyra to make guides like this. Like someone who loves Summoner, or Etoile, or Hunter, etc to do guides with this much heart in them
Straight up the best phantom guide from all of NA to you thank you senpai
I've been playing rifle, and learning I should be doing PA>PA>Normal is going to help me out quite a bit. Thanks.
Excellent Video. This class didn't click with me out the gate, like I thought it would. But getting your perspective on the Rod side of the class is giving me...motivation. To try again.
When it comes to skill-based games like PSO2, it is important to get acclimated to how everything plays. Sometimes some classes takes longer than others, but different people prefer different things which is why there exists 13 classes with multiple unique weapon types and gameplay. But I'm glad that I inspired you to give it a try again!
Thank you lots for this in depth guide.~
It motivates me to try the class, now that I have a better understandment of it.
Im still mastering Phantom still having tons fun with the class and i went into going to Phantom using all 3 weapons not caring for the meta
This guide got me to give PSO2 another chance after my terrible experience on the SEA server. I kept getting disconnected in the middle of a fight on that one.
I've started getting the feel of how a lot of the attacks flow with phantom at this point, the biggest things I need to work on now are getting techs crafted and the counter attacks. It's a bit rough to try getting the counters off when so much is going on in full groups, but none the less this class has been the most fun I've had using techs in the game.
Kyo would be proud with this guild and the intro.
This was the most entertaining guide I've ever seen. And I know how to play Phantom at least a little now lol
For the katana PA that is directional, if u press D and the Pa at the same time, it will slice diagonally to the front left. If u hold D and then the PA, it just gives u the regular animation, directly slice to the left. (Correct me if im wrong)
The biggest thing i learned from this was that detonating markers actually resets gear accumulation to 100% across the board. I never knew that after close to 50 hours of playing phantom and honestly that detail makes me now drop lord of thorns completely as theres just too many benefits to having fast mark accumulation over the moderate damage increase.
It's one of those things that game doesn't tell you, but definitely an important piece of information.
Really nice video! Well done.
Nice intro, 5 times better then what I did for the game 😂 I never thought to use in game cutscenes.
I joined your discord and this guide has kept me single handedly loving phantom.
Lots of time & hardwork went into this guide/video.
I respect that ✊😔
Thank you so much for this awesome guide. It is so well made and it helped me a lot ^.^
You know what, Phantom and Etoile have taught me not to get too attached to a single weapon type. I love every single weapon these two classes use and wanna try my best to get good with them all.
fuck that, Rod for life, lol.
I like blades most. So i use katanas, s blades, sword, partisian, twin daggers . Rod is op on Phantom tho .
This was great thanks so much for all your help arcy 💙
Note: Shift-Kugelsturm has forward guard frames when you release the button which you can use for safety.
Aside from that, great video and wonderful pronunciation of the PAs.
I know it's not the point but
Your character is cute af no matter how many times I look at her
Thanks for making me feel ok about play with Katana only. I play Brav/Pha but I really enjoy play Phantom with Katana because its fun
Your kindness, either in voice or personality touched me.
I can never thank you enough for such a detailed guide.
I'm a Ph Katana that didn't know how to count, such an eyes opener! I'll try to count at Sodam tonight xD
back here for a 4th time just soaking it all in. thanks again so much =)
great vid thanks for the effort put in it
One thing I want to mention is rifle marker detonation at full marker will consume only half marker.
What that mean is when you trigger at purple marker, marker will not disappear but go back to blue.
Would Love to see a video about the gear you use as a phantom, Keep up the good work
Cras, cras, cras, cras i guess lol
In the endgame it would be pretty much Cras yeah haha but, there's quite a bit more to it - A topic worth talking about for general setup and not just "MAIN" MAIN Phantom with full cras.
I would also love to see your equipments. I would like to know, how you can have 300 above pp and 2k above hp. Btw loved the video❤️.

Thank you immensely for this, honestly. As a player who's been playing PSO2 Global for awhile and felt slightly disheartened by a ton of the phantom guides talking about only rod, and the class itself being very confusing on various things like gear generation, I'm very grateful for this video. You've explained so many things that I didn't fully understand, from how all the PA's function, PA's after Quick cut being shifted, Phantom time resetting the gear generation of your PA's, PA's getting slower gear generation if spammed, and much more. I feel like now that I truly understand the mechanics behind the class, I will have a lot more fun with it and possibly even make it one of my most played classes overall!
P.S., Your overwhelming positivity is sweet as can be, and I love how friendly and helpful your discord is. Totally gonna try dropping by streams of yours more often too!
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it
Thank you for the guide!
I really needed this guide thank you
Thank you for this guide!
What the heck, this timing! I LITERALLY JUST UNLOCKED THIS LIKE 4 HOURS AGO! and then you post this video XD
Perfect
Well this guide is probably the best guide for any class in this game. Would be nice if you can do this at least to all the scion classes.
I have to grow up, everytime I hear "PP" I just want to cry from laughing, I'm such a child
@Drillz I played since the NA PC release last year and I'm still trying to get used to it
We should start saying "phee-pee" for photon points
lol PP
This was so good I want an Et guide now :'(
Wow...I've been using Phantom TOTALLY wrong. This sure gave me a good starting point though. Thanks! Now to rewire my brain...
Ty so very much for this
Ive looked at alot of guides for phantom ans honestly my opinion you have a very informative guide that makes me want to play the class more and more. Still on that grind tho to get two 75 characters tho sadly but still love this guide man keep it up. On another note what mag advice would you give if i could ask?
phantom katana is really fun to play if you dig in the vergil vibe
Really appreciate the guide. Im an Etoile for life but my friends who are new to the game want to be Phantoms so understanding the class so I can teach them is really helpful
Always enjoy your content
Do you plan on doing an Etoile video? I would appreciate the extra guidance to make sure Im playing optimally
Did not disappoint!

P.S We REALLY need Et
guide from you.
It be like that haha
I go back to base game every so often just to play phantom katana, I personally loved phantom katana more than braver katana solely for the aesthetic and fun factor of phantom katana, I just found it so much cooler than braver katana (I know I'm weird). Also I love your outfit 😍
TOTALLY agree. I still only play base pso2 because of Phantom. Katana 1st, Rifle close 2nd, Rod 3rd for me. I want to love NGS, just nothing feels anywhere close to as good as Phantom gameplay imo.
I appreciate the breakdown. I really enjoy the class but my time with PS02 thus far has been very brainless use of simpler classes so I am finding the shift a little difficult. When I pull it all together though the damage is just nutty.
I really enjoyed this guide.
In regards to follow up videos to be made, while gear and tech loadouts would be nice, I’d like to see an evasive guide on all the various invincibility and guard options you have as Phantom, as these are important additional tools to have knowledge of.
I gotta Respek dat intro. Dat's a good intro!
I'd like to see a gear guide like which weapons work best what affixes potentials and s abilities compliment the class best.
I made a trailblazer katana specially for the pp regen but I am debating about going liberated instead. As to what rod and rifle to use I am lost as I have never played a class that uses those two weapons, I have no idea what I should be looking to get with what potentials etc or what affixes I need to put on on them .
Maybe I'm asking too much but It'd be nice to see some techniques as well as they're zero version .
I really enjoy appreciate your work you have a way of explaining things and your voice is pleasent to listen to which is a plus 👍👍👍
You have done a very detailed guide for Ph beginners and brushing off some misconceptions about the Katana build. Great work there. Just some personal thoughts below
1. With the latest 15* weapons, there is no need to put any SP into Lord of Thorn, or at most 1 SP. Like
2. Massenvernichtung is also useful for inducing hit-stuns on mobs. But its main purpose is still more for picking up crystals during divide quest lol
3. Katana Ph used to be very, very awkward to play due to the weird quick cut timing until Sega changed the timings. Thank goodness
4. You may also want to include the invincibility timings for the various PAs, especially for Katana. It is very useful (even though just 0.2 - 0.33s) and important
Including tech craft choices will be beneficial as that is pretty much what defines Rod Ph. Some equipment choices will also be helpful to boost survivability, PP regeneration and DPS.
I enjoy playing Rifle Ph but my equipment choice focuses more on rod. However, my love still goes to Sword Hu despite it being a slow CQC class and hoping to be skilled with Ignite Parry as PSO2しゃな
Awesome guide! If you did a gear guide to follow up, I mos def would appreciate it. Thanks!!!
I fell in love with phantom thanks to you 😀
Thank u for that fun guid keep that up
This guide got me into pso2
Very informative, looking forward to a follow up video. Would you have any tips for building up focus faster I feel like when I’m doing UQs I should be using phantom time way more than once shortly before the boss dies
Thank you so much! You make the phantom class beautiful
Thank you !
@@Azelyra just one question do you focus all your augments towards one stat?.
That was so good! Well worth the wait. I just reached 95 on Global and really looking forward to ‘getting good’
I need to work on my gear generation since I’ve only reached phantom time once. I found a lot of mobs leveling up died way before I reached stage two marker. It feels so slow to build up.
It's definitely not something you'd build on mobbing, but don't worry about that too much - It's more important on bosses and all after all.
Thanks for showing me Shift Kugelsturm, I grabbed a Million Rifle so I can use Million Sturm
Random notes that I believe were missed, on a serious note:
- The rifle PA Nachtangriff actually can hit things REALLY far away, AND can pierce barriers. So you may have seen a Bow user hitting Luther/Loser with Piercing Arrow off-stage, well Nachtangriff can do this as well!
- The most notable content where Phantom rifle really shines is XH content, because Headshot multipliers are heavily nerfed in Ultra Hard. If you're running Endless, you can REALLY abuse headshot multis.
- One other thing to note about Phantom rifle is it can be EXTREMELY floaty and can maintain height extremely easily while still moving around. This can be used to cheese a lot of enemies with Leaping Dodge left ring, although I would not recommend getting used to it as you're missing out on counter damage.
- Ilgrants notation is actually 120% of what's listed, oddly enough. 12% per hit for whatever reason. Honestly people don't need to know this but whatever I'm putting it here
- Nazan-0 actually is a good tech, but hard to use. High marker build, good single target on wind weak, but very distance based... **UNLESS** you plant it on the ground or on a wall. Keep it in mind for something like Train Gidran/Ghidoran, who slams his weak points onto the ground a lot, and will also result in a stun when you get a Mirage. You'll probably be fighting him a lot on Global since Orb weapons are used to make a future 15* series in the Whistle of Chaos featured quest, as well as just ends up being a good farm for Crack affixes!
- If you ended up using Ilzan for mobbing ever, and are thinking "man I wish I had ilzan here"... use rifle's Shift Nachtangriff instead! It basically fills the same role. Shift movement backwards, then Shifted version of Nachtangriff back forward to maintain a similar position. Obviously won't transition into other techs as well, but chances are due to your high movespeed you wouldn't need ilzan much if you're swapping into other techs after using it.
AWESOME video! Thank a ton! ...and let it go down in history. 28:18 "It will be good."
