I LOVE how hard you sold the TRUTH about NOT SETTING SKILLS/FEEDING MAGS UNTIL YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING/WHAT YOU WANT! (The only thing I'd add there, was something you'd touched on earlier - creating ALL THREE characters right off the bat -- but at LEAST just in case the Devs tweak the Classes and hand out the Passes, 1 to EACH CHARACTER.)

"experts" claim you can kill your skill tree but realistically you might waste 10 skill points. Sure it ain't optimal but you get so many fucking skill points there's a lot of wiggle room in terms of actually destroying your build. I'm a hybrid braver (meaning i'm all over the damn tree for bow AND katana) and i'm pretty much filled out around level 55. The biggest traps tend to be the tier 1 stat boost things which you can sink 10 levels into and it's usually a pretty bad investment.
Mag definitely very easy to fuck though. Good thing they're dirt cheap.

That last tip makes we want to stop playing what little I've been doing and walk away. Needing to talk to expert's is a deal breaker for me.
For one, my ability to communicate is terrible so having to do this just to play a game is too much work for me. And I'm not including all the countless bad experience with game veterans when I run into.
I've stopped using the mag now that I know feeding it items I don't need is a bad idea, however I'll have to stop playing the game outright if my skill tree is too gimped.
I never chase the meta in games I play, but I need to at least be able to solo 90% of the content alone. (Because I'm terrible at communicating and have no friends)

just Google builds, you don't HAVE to talk to someone. there are a lot of written and video guides that can help you. this game has a pretty steep learning curve for new players though so if you have no patience for that stuff, probably better to walk away. I was annoyed at first but after you get past that initial wall, the game is super enjoyable. good luck if you're still playing.

@@nautuangpu Just looked up the builds in the description, and it's the same build. phew. You still have the potential of getting one shot as ranger, but with the skill "iron will", you have a 75% chance to survive a lethal attack with 1 hp. After proccing the skilll, you get invincibility for a short while to heal yourself up again. There's also the automate skill that'll automatically use any -mate item when you get below 50% hp. Some other stuff I've seen is that the ranger can stay in the air by just attacking so enemy attacks that sweep the floor can be avoided pretty easily.
In short, you're still squishy, but with hunter as your subclass, you can tank some bad hits when your evades are mistimed.

One of the reasons that Braver & Bouncer are good starting classes, is that they (along with advanced Phantom) benefit the most from DEX-based MAGs, and DEX MAGs are the easiest to raise without buying food devices - you can just feed them extra discs. You don't have to do the stat offset shuffle like you have to if you're trying to raise a MAG of the other 3 main stats.

Yooo, I remember watching this before global came out. I tried out pso2jp and this helped me a lot. Now that I've been playing pso2 global for 3, almost 4, months I've gotten way better at the game. Even though I have grown and developed in the game, this is not a video to scoff at. Even someone like me just jumping into pso2jp in the middle of episode 6 I was able to learn and understand what to do as a beginner and it would even help in pso2 global even more since that is just about to get episode 6 next week. If you are a beginner, I highly recommend this video. Even if you aren't, you can always go back to the basics to see what you might have missed or is difficult for you. I would recommend just toughing it out. Social anxiety will make it difficult to do anything in life, and running away from it isn't gonna help at all. But aside from that, it'll take about 50% longer based on what I saw in this video. It won't be THAT bad.

@@davidburke4101 Oh yeah, you're spot on there, it sure makes life even more difficult. I appreciate the advice... However, I tried doing that with FFXIV, and it got to a point in which I wasn't having fun with the game anymore because just the idea of running a dungeon/raid/whatever content the game forces you to do with a group made me incredibly nervous, my mind unable to focus on anything as cold sweat covered my hands, and that meant I couldn't even enjoy the experience itself, since you're forced to group up in that game to advance in the story. I personally play video games to have fun, relax and enjoy myself, not to constantly force myself to do something that will make me mentally exhausted.
I did start playing PSO2 a couple of days ago, though, and I decided I'll try not to mind the lower bonuses and such. Like you said, it's not a massive difference in the end, and I'm not a competitive person anyway.

Else characters that's below level 50 you will just get a tri booster 50%/100% from daily/weekly mission.
I recently found those out by trying to hitting the max amount of characters and creating more and more alts, realized the daily/weekly mission reward are not the same as my max level characters.

With the little subtitle there of "PSO2 is a social game"... Even the first anime for the game shoves that idea in your face for a few episodes. At the very least people need to take that point to heart. You can play it solo completely, but making friends and being social is very helpful.

Fighter Gunner and Techer are not included in start pick because their PA(Photon Arts) and weapon do not drop a lot at the beginning.
I strongly recommend just picking the start class and train it as second class in the early game and play FI, GU, TE main when you can get effective PA and weapon for them

    • @Alvin03690
      @Alvin03690 Před 4 lety

False. Your disc drop rates are dependent on the class you pick. You can immediately pick them, and your starter weapon can be immediately obtained from your respective class NPC. (e.g. Fighter & hunter = Ohza, Gunner & ranger = Risa, Techer & Force = Marlu)

Played virtually every single Phantasy Star title except for portable. Held back on playing the Japanese version since I had a feeling something would happen (literally hoped for this in every E3 since 2012). Gonna be using the Japanese version as practice, but it's definitely good to know about the boosts and such. Played with my long time buddy who's also a Phantasy Star vet and I feel we secured a pretty solid/nostalgic Alliance name.

This kind of stuff I needed it back in October 2022 when I started (of course, I had anticipated to have at least to buy 1 mag and skill tree on purpose as I wanted to have one build based on a "casual" run and another one for a 90% serious build) and yeah, skill tree and Mag build is the most punishing part, other stuff like races I already had decided how to build that before starting to play for both classic and NGS and for my alt. characters as well.
