- Had the urge for a bit of lamb today. I didn't want to spend hours roasting a joint so I thought I'd try some quick cook action...

I'm going to get some of that sprinkle some gyros seasoning on it fry it up and put it in pitta bread with loads of raw onion tomatoes lettuce and cabbage ! Yeah ! 😋 oh and a bit of chilli sauce..
Now that is one of the best suggestions I've heard Geoff, and will definitely do it, cheers :)
@@Papparoni thanks ! Let us know how you get on ! 😁
Yum!... That looked delicious Papp... When you opened the packaging and removed the first piece of the Sainsbury's Quick Cook Extra Thin Lamb... It actually looked like Bacon... I'm very curious to give this one a try for myself now Papp... 😋 I wonder if it could be done in the Air Fryer too... Along with some Roast Potatoes and Sage and Onion Stuffing Balls... Boil a tin of Mixed Vegetables and a tin of Baby New Potatoes... And serve with Gravy... And you can make a simple Lamb Sunday Roast Dinner... 😋 Many thanks for the review Papp... It's very much appreciated my friend... All the very best... Cheers mate. 🍺
I was considering airfrying this stuff mate and reckon it would serve it well :)
(42) Oh, OK. A bit odd-looking. Would make a dandy gyro with some cucumber, tomatoes, red onion mixed with a splash of Mrs. Ball's Chutney (made in South Africa) and some yogurt & garlic sauce.
Great idea, and I like the word 'dandy' :)
Shhhhhh Don't say a word.
Papps cooking!
Nice choice Papp. 🤤
£3 @ 200g is £15 a kilo. A tad pricey but not bad for the extra butchering.
Next time you do this, sprinkle with some Greek seasoning (homemade or store bought) and a squeeze of lemon juice. A dollop of tzatziki sauce and roll up in a warmed yuros or pitta bread.
I too scored some lamb today @ $15.99kg. 5 nice lamb loin chops 0.543kg. And while I was in the independent butcher, I paid for a little old lady's beef mince. She wanted $5 worth. I told the butcher make it $6.
Butcher charged me only for $5 and he also opened the door for the little old lady's exit. 👍😀 Smiles all round for everyone.
See you next time you cook something. Cheers John
Great serving suggestion mate, and as for you chaps helping the old lady, good on you, this kind of thing should be done more often, and by more people :)
@@Papparoni I agree wholeheartedly. I don't have any issues with 'paying it forward' or lending a hand. It's just when they don't acknowledge the generosity not even with a thank you.
That's when you feel, was it worth it. Being a good Samaritan has its challenges.
The best we can do is just keep giving mate :)
That looks fantastic. I'll have to check my local tesco, I can feel a kebab coming on.
Ms Ms, try your local Sainsbury's ;)
@@PapparoniI really need to go to Specsavers 😂👓
I bet that would be nice in a pitta bread, like a healthier alternative to a doner kebab 😋
Far healthier I'd say Mr Atkinson. I had a kebab in Greece and they used 'real' lamb, delightful :)
Outdoor cooking feels right n natural.
Because it is mate :)
As someone has already remarked: Lamb Bacon!
Genius idea!
Stir a bit of mint and/or chilli sauce into some ketchup.
Plastic bread or roll/bap/barm...✌
Sounds good to me mate :)
@@Papparoni Have a Sainsbury's less than a mile away. Going to be cooking this in my air fryer.✌
I was on about doing the same, will try with the next batch...
Oooh it looks like many good things can happen with that my imagination is going in overload were having bbq with RC monster trucks lol it's going back to the 80s time.😊
Bbq with RC action sounds brilliant mate :D
Lamb bacon . That's one bored butcher lol . Bet it tasted good though
Lambacon.
Lamb bacon, love that!
An interesting cut of lamb for sure! / Almost could be a kinda kebab meat quick substitute ! / Would love to try that in a pita, with salad, and some garlic / chilli sauce. Bet that would be epic ! / Mark.
I agree mate, a kebab made from this stuff would be tremendous :)
Ooooh; not sure I'd fry that; maybe more of a Chinese Hot Pot ingredient?
Not sure as I've never had a Chinese hot pot before, but it sounds great :)
👍🙂
Cheers Uncle :)
I've all but given up on our Sainsbo's- it's been rubbish since "the event"- but I love lamb breast and this is good value. Looks like I'll be heading back there, cheers P!
No worries DBC. Hope you're enjoying the rest of the event playing out as I am ;)
Vegetables and gravy with loads of mash but don't forget the mint sauce and mint jelly 👍👍🐑🐑
Oh yes Robert, top additions :)
Looks like belly to me Papp?
They also do rolled breast joints which are quite reasonable too.
Deffo worth a try👍🏻
Yes, belly it is. I've seen pork belly like this too.
It's breast of lamb mate, and thanks for the heads up, I do like a rolled breast :)
@@Papparoni Breast is best😉
;)
@@Papparoni aka belly and also saddle. Depends on how it's sold. Breast is correct when it has been rolled and belly when flat post butchery. Saddle is the term for the area of the pre butchery.
Lamb bacon mmmm
Oh yes!
Looks 😋
Nice bit of meat eh Sarah :D
@@Papparoni yes it is lol
They look good for the price, I recon they would be better in a stew 😋
Nice idea Malcolm, haven't had lamb stew in ages :)
Wish it was minted.
Can always lash some on :)
I'm thinking Kebab
Would work wonderfully as a kebab
I don't think i have ever seen lamb like that. It's super fragile stuff, it reminds of that god awful thin sliced ham from Farmfoods. I "might" give it a go ;)
Hahaa, some of my friends call that ham 'sweaty ham'!
@@Papparoni haha 😅. I love a bit of sweaty meat 💦💦
Ashleigh!
@@PapparoniWhat lol
I wonder which bit of the lamb this comes from. It almost looks like a chunky bacon. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
It's breast of lamb Chris, nice baa!
WHERE'S THE LAMB SAUCE !?
The mind boggles mate!
@@Papparoni It was a Gordon Ramsay thing ! (turned into a meme)
Ah ok mate :D
Shrunk to nothing 😂😂
Do you think mate, I thought it wasn't such a bad shrinker! :D
@@Papparoni 200grams down to about 20grams by the looks of it 😂
:D
Missed the talking to be honest 😂
I didn't expect anyone to say that Ian! :D
Kinda looks like bacon lol lamb bacon
It could be a thing mate :)
@@Papparoni I wonder how it would taste blt style or should I say LLT style 🤔
@@Papparoni wonder how it would taste BLT style guess that's LLT style lol
@@Papparoni apologies if my reply appears twice but it seems yt is eating my replies 🤣
Sorry mate, all messages have to go through my filter first so may not appear immediately. LLT sounds delightful and I will be trying :)
