Well I was a Trader Joe's yesterday, saw some lamb racks from New Zealand right after watching this video, so I thought I'll surprise my wife with the dish! Oh man! It worked so wonderfully, first time dealing with lamb racks. It was perfect. We gobbled it up so fast you wouldn't believe! Thank you so much for this video! :)

I just love this channel.
It's very important to use a convection oven for rack of lamb! That way you won't have any hot or cold spots in the oven. Cooks evenly, and faster than a regular oven. You have a nice oven. Thanks for the recipe Pasquale! I love your food.

The difference was the meat cut...
My husband bought the rack of lamb BUT it had bone along the bottom - WHICH MADE CUTTING CHALLENGING lol
Thank goodness we did this trial run because cutting it was quite comical...for next time
I WILL MAKE SURE the meat purchased will cut through lol

Orsara, looks delicious, the ingredients you used are perfect, i am not a big fan of mint jelly, but i do like fresh mint.
I'd love to try it with fresh mint for a change as while growing up in the late 60's & 70's, dad only used mint jelly when preparing leg of lamb and he also slit the meat all over and stuffed the slits with sliced garlic. Great stuff!
What is mint jelly, never heard of it? Oh and one more question, does mint jelly take that nasty aftertaste away that lamb has, I absolutely hate the taste but was told if prepared right, you won't have that aftertaste? Thanks in advance for your replies folks. 👍😏✊😁

Google Mint Jelly and buy a bottle online or pick it up at your local supermarket, Whole foods or Walmart that way you'll have a bottle to sample and try with other meats. It's an actual jelly made with mint. It will not entirely mask the taste of lamb, perhaps not eating lamb anymore might do the trick. Mint jelly is a nice compliment to meats, especially lamb. Enjoy!
@@Divalish. mint jelly is made almost like mint jello. You use fresh mint and crush in a mortar/pestle, unflavored pectin packet( available in grocery stores) and a little liquid(directions are on the pectin packet) the mint jelly will set up like jello in the fridge, then when ready, slightly mash it with a fork in the bowl, you will have somewhat the consistency of regular grape jelly like making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You just put some of the mint jelly on the lamb, yes it will cover the aftertaste, hope that helps you ms. Desiree Rosa, God bless, btw, you can buy prepared mint jelly in some of your grocers, will be in a bottle or jar

Looks great, but my wife hates mustard! What can I substitute fo the mustard?
The mustard will not impart mustard flavor, it is used to help hold the spices to the meat, that’s all it’s for. Try it you’ll see.
I use “spicy brown mustard” ( Gouldins ) instead of yellow mustard. Sooo much tastier !

Here is another approach
1. Brown lamb in a pan to give colour and mayard reaction
2. Then spread with mustard
3. Then herbs and spices and in the oven...
