Steph Curry & Andrew Bogut - Chemistry

- During Steph Curry’s first three years in the NBA, he had three different head coaches. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that isn’t ideal for continuity. By his fourth year, there was more stability, but more importantly, the 2012 season brought Andrew Bogut to the Bay. The Australian’s arrival meant there was a big target Steph could throw to, but he quickly learned it wasn’t a one way street. Bogut, one of the game’s great passing bigs, could create (somewhat) for Steph. They began to play off of each other and found chemistry. Three years later, the all-defensive second team center, and the league MVP, have helped guide Golden State to their first title in 40 years.
If you’re a fan of Golden State or just enjoy good basketball, watching today’s Warriors is easy. Watching Steph’s Warriors during his rookie year was not. Yes, they had a few holdovers from the “We Believe” Dubs, but Don Nelson’s final year of coaching was less than ideal. The years that followed were not great either, but one thing that has always been fun to watch is Steph. His craftiness and quick trigger has been evident since day 1. When Bogey arrived, his chemistry with the creative center doubly so.
To see Bogut and Curry run the give and go is gratifying, in that it is so seamless. Between the pair’s performance of beautiful basketball, there’s an inherent understanding of where the other will be. Curry is an all-world point guard, but he’s arguably the game’s greatest shooter, so playing him off the ball makes him even more dangerous. The historic season was defined by dominant defense and brilliant ball movement, but an important cog in the Dubs magnificence was the peerless point guard with the supreme stroke, being able to tilt the defense off the ball, and their massive maestro, being able to pick out the perfect pass to him. Whether you’re trying to jump on the bandwagon, or a die hard believer (congratulations if you are by the way, y’all deserve it), it’s important to understand that Steph and Bogey have one of the premier partnerships in the entire league.

Bogut was one of the best centers in NBA. If he hadn't gotten injured,GSW would have won the 2016 finals.
agree 100%
Well he's back so...
@@savagedan6274 and?
Maybe cavs olso win 2017
Yes exactly
And he's back!
whos here after signing Bogut again in warriors?
Me
Me
Yes
Me and I’m not a warrior fan.
Me too
Bogut be like, "Hmm.. I'm just gonna pretend I don't know what I'm doing...SIKE *Runs for the lob*"
Back in 2019 because we got Bogut back!!! 😆😆🏆
lol
Curry and Bogut were so fun to watch! They were always looking out for one another and both had plenty of patience with the ball waiting for the other to get clear. Miss that combo!
I'm happy to see bogut and curry will do this again
That last pass by Bogut was spot on. Fun to see these guys.
I'm gonna miss watching these two warriors team from 14-15 and 15-16. The chemistry, ball movement, and joy those guys played with was just awesome. Bogut was one of my favorite players from that team because of his passing, screen setting, and rim protection. Literally the perfect center for that team, all he didn't have was a jump shot.
Chandler Hamilton I 100% agree. Elite rim defender, special decision maker, solid (if sometimes illegal) screen setter, and he was one of the first guys to just run back before a three was even put up by Steph or Klay because he was so confident that they were gonna make it. The Warriors are different now and the joy is not the same as it used to be. I really miss Bogut on the Dubs and I hope that if he does get moved, it's to somewhere that can contend.
As good as the Warriors still are, I almost feel they're too talented for their own good. Sure they'll win a lot of games, but I'm not all that confident they'll win a bunch of championships. I used to really love this team and they had such perfect chemistry. Steph was THE guy, Klay the perfect player to put next to him, Draymond the ultimate defensive player and playmaker, and they still would've possibly been able to keep Barnes and let his game grow (mind you, they drafted literally their entire core of players, which is so rare). I really looked at this team as the next great culture/team of the forseeable future. Sure they'll be great with Durant, but it's just not nearly the same.
Chandler Hamilton I agree. I actually think they've taken a few steps back in terms of continuity because they're not as deep, and Durant wants the ball in ISO situations rather than maybe getting the ball inside and splitting the post, or the patented Draymond/Steph pick and roll.
They'll likely win if they don't drive each other up the wall (although for my money, I'll still take Cleveland if things remain as they are by season's end), but yeah...the magic isn't there like it was. Chemistry makes up for a lot of things, and the Warriors got better on paper, but they lost a lot of what made them special, especially off-court.
@@chandlerhamilton3208 lol wont win championships aye
Those two were poetry . Simply BEAUTIFUL
He's coming back!! Highly underrated big man and one of the reasons for the beginning of the Warriors run!!
He's coming back. Can't wait.
Combine the best scorer of this generation with one of the best passing big men in the history of the league, and you'll get this: poetry in motion.
GasolineSmellsGood now it’s jokic
@@jxfxyw7574 he said one of the best, not the best
Now we are watching this again cuz he's back! Welcome back Andrew Bogut! 🙌🙌
Holy shit Bogut can pass.
+timlamiam that last one was clutch and beautiful
+timlamiam One of the best passing big men in the game right now
Yeah you won't see the so-called dominant centers making passes like that. He is really one of the most well-rounded centers in the league. He can definitely pass, he can shoot (some games he shows his range), he can defend, and he's light on his feet. The passing aspect is underrated imo because if your center is getting double-teamed, they should pass it out instead of trying to do too much and go up with it. He takes advantage of the sharp-shooters on the outside. He's also more mobile than most centers in that he keeps the ball moving, puts his teammates in good scoring position, unlike your traditional center who will hand the ball off and then go stand under the basket. He moves like a forward not so much a center.
he was a beast in Milwaukee this is a shard of what he was with the Bucks
and he can bring the ball up the court, he used to play PG position before he grew to 7ft so he can handle the ball
Bogus was highly underrated! They way he played defensive and his passing was fire🔥. His Basketball IQ was also off the charts for a big man!
I love the play when curry was getting trippled team and you expected him to lose that matchup but he somehow passes the ball to bogut.
Bogut, you will be deeply missed.
He's back
If Bogut didn't have the injuries he had over his career, he had the talent to be an all time great. Even with them he had 13 seasons in the NBA, a championship, all defensive 2nd team, lead the league in blocks. Speaks for itself really, legend of Australian basketball, never gave up....left when it suited him.
Bogut is back
THE LEGEND RETURNS
And now he is coming back, great story! And in his highlights from the NBL he looked like the 15/16 Bogut, that's great💙💛
Thank the lord he’s back. Best center the Warriors lineup has ever had (not including Draymond in a small ball lineup)
Great upload, Curry and Bogut are amazing playmakers.
Enjoyed watching this warriors team more than the current one
Yes it's all becuz of kd sucker..hahaha..Curry igoudala green thompson already beat him..why they need him in this team...? Every can score what he scores.. no ball rotation..no clutches.. bring back the old gsw chemistry.. theyre fun to watch..
Welcome Back to The Warriors Bogut!
We miss your interior presence, screening, passing although I hope your free throw shooting improved since I don't wanna see "Hack a Bogut" in the playoffs making you unplayable.
But you deserve a 2nd Ring!
What a duo.
Glad to tell you guys, Bogut is BACK!!!
2019 & it’s like he never left‼️
I miss this gsw line up with bogut,Lee, and barnes
I love when bogut was thrown an alley oop, its been so long since i saw those, all i see now is 1v1 like every play😭😭 comeback bogut
Damn!! Almost forgot how good this tandem was. Thanks for reminding me.
Am here 4 years later
Really wish they bring back Bogut T.T his chemistry with Steph is >>>>>>>>>
Lazy to Type He’s coming back!
Welcome back!
The center position in Golden States offense doesn't get a lot of post looks, but sure as heck gets dimes and lobs.
He about to be back for the stretch run!
WELCOME BACK‼️
Big Aussie welcome back!
Who here after finding out Bogut coming back?
Im not here
Currys playing as a proper PG
Welcome back champ
he’s back😃
このコンビマジ大好き。
コービー&ガソール並みの破壊力
Andrew is fucking amazing center and Defense and One of the best at passing there is damn...
Just sweet ... awesome pairing
This is Stockton-Malone level shit.
I missed him so much , The chemistry, I hope comes back to GSW one day, Maybe GSw will cut players like Mcadoo, M. Barnes for him
Well, he came back
well and he's back with Steph now..
Good to see the big man back over in the States.
The Best center on warriors history
I'm still waiting for the day the Warriors have a competent big man again in the Steph era
One of the best one two punch in the NBA
i'll see in again now in 2019 exciting😀😀
Golden states need u bogut .
BACK!
Facts the injury took alot of his offense confidence
bogut the beast man.
Can’t for Steph doing this same play to Wiseman🔥💪🏾
BOGUTTT COMING BACK BEST SCREEEnER LOL
It's 2019 and Bogut is still underrated center as good passer 🤷♂️
this is the time when the warriors play like monsters. destroying every team at will
This will definitely be the next step for Wiseman... putting him into the high post and see if he can find cutters.
That being said, this is not easy to execute. But if we want to develop Wiseman hard, now its the time.
4:15...how did that pass get through
+Anna Z incredible
that was my thought. I had to watch that like 3 times to count how many defenders it got through
Damn bogut got that HOF pick&roller
Legit chemistry. Barely looked at each other for most of those oops.
Welcome to the Lakers, new combo.....Ball to Bogut
Welcome Back Andrew
Both
Bogut has great hands and speed for a guy that size. Obviously great passer, too.
Stockton and Carl are back together..
Warriors haven't had this in a long time
thats what they get
welcome back!!! illegal screen ㅡ Chemistry haha
6:44 bogut be like here u go...not u
comeback!!
Can u do a lock down highlight of Iguodala? That would be great
Lew Wei Still working on it, but you'll see it eventually
Evin Gualberto nice! looking forward to it
Dang man, Bogut could jump. The way he dunks looks like 2K.
i didn't realize they are doing the same play over and over.. what i know was that they were good teammates back then.. nice vid btw...
I miss this dou
Same play that's good
Not only bogut to be back also the announcer
nc team work goodbye bogut !!!
bogut is coming back
Imagine that game without kd..they're so tough already...😎 They can win a championship with this bigdude..haha..welcome back..#gogswforthewin..💜💙💜💙💙💙
No wonder they were excited to get him back.
you can see the plays well where the defenders go for curry leaving bogut free for the lob
Damn Bogut moves 6 inches to a foot on almost every pick he sets.
imagine this..bogut at cavs with behind the back pass for kyle korver in the corner..that will be sweet as fuck..
Warriors will never find another bogut. Sad that he had to leave. Pachulia, McGee, Looney, Bell, West is not even half the man Bogut was on Golden State.
Michael Wheeler They have actually.. Bogut himself is back!!!
GSW made a big mistake losing Bogut. Can't blame Bogut for not joining with warriors again after they traded him. He's gonna do really well in the cavs
This is the real warriors before the ball hogger kevin durant showed up
At 7:08 what game is tht
best team in Nba history was Warriors 2014-16
7:11 thats chemistry, you dont have to look or yell
thats what made the warriors so deadly
Weakside Triangle with Pinch Post for Bogut & any Laker.
DeAndre Page I KNOW RIGHT. It's gonna be money.
How can you see what you aren't looking at?
and bogut is now coming back! GSW for the win..
and haters are now typing in 5 4 3 2 1...
Is 5:56 night, night cele?
whos here after bogut retired
I know it hardly seems fair time-wise but given recent history? Boggie and Steph just seem more in timing harmony than with Cousins ... guess we'll see!
Be ready for the second coming.
