Disappointed not to get into Fort Madalena, But stumbled across the entrance to the Victoria Lines, almost did not make it across the wall, originally known as the North West Front and sometimes unofficially known as the Great Wall of Malta, are a line of fortifications that spans 12 kilometres along the width of Malta, dividing the north of the island from the more heavily populated south.

As I think I have mentioned, the present Danish-owned: Mellieha Vacation Park, was built on a former English Barracks area and we still have a small concrete "harbour" in front in the water and a private, closed during the night, tunnel below the road out to it. We also have some foundations left from the English times, on the area.

I was watching you when you walked from qawra to Salina ,I haven't seen that new building .when I was 8yrs old I was on a bus and I saw a African woman with a basket on her head I am so glad that they done that building about the history of Salina .we use to go swimming across from Salina we walked from bugibba to go there. Thanks Steve for what you are doing.how can I send you donation from Australia ?

Always so interesting to discover places in Malta.
Lots of history over there
Have done the walk through from Madalena to Gharghur many times....if you walk over the bridge and follow the road you come across the lovely shrine that is a replica of the church in Gharghur...i put video on my channel of that shrine. Also walked all around where that fort is...which also has good views over the sea.

Today I watched you at wied is sewda.xajra 60yrs ago bugibba was like that then started building .we use to live across the street from the bocci club in a small room in the middle of nowhere and we were happy kids.

Nice one Steve, I had forgotten how pretty that area was but I didn't know it was an expansive part of Malta to buy in. It would be nice to see the line fixed up I have traveled over parts of it in the past and loved it.
