Glad you like them Michael I will try do more, this was just a fill in cuz I could not get out this week
Thanks for another good one, Steve. Hope you get those health problems sorted. My limited experierence of Maltese hospital care, after a minor accident there six years ago, was great. Very professional, kind, friendly. I think you are in good hands. Good luck and all the best. My favourite hobz-bizey (is that how you spell it?) in Malta was on the old Maltese bread, with the great crust, Maltese olive oil, capers from my old friend Francis's garden, a bit of very finely chopped onion, finely chopped tomatoes and their own fresh juice, and a bit of crumbled sheep's cheese (either fresh, or marinated in olive oil and garlic). And then a glass or two of honest rough local red wine out of the fridge.
.
Hey Paul ..I know what you mean spelling is not in important, no complaints at the hospital some doctors a bit strange ..but in all its ok service
Thanks Steve wondered what the history was. Hope they do restore it
Who knows Mick ..it would cost millions !!
Wishing you good health 🙏 Love your positivity xx
I have not room for negativity...for every Negative thought there are loads of positive ones !!

I think I might have to agree with you ....Maybe Bacardi comes a close second? or third in you case !!
Hi Steve today you are showing us my most favourite recipe.l eat a small ftira with tomatoes and olive oil a plain maltese gbejna and some garlic , almost every day. Coincidentally crix is also my favourite snack but I don't take too much of it because l don't think it is very healthy
That word that you mentioned bl-Ghaddocc l think that in English it means carelessly . Thanks once more for the beautiful video .l always like your sense of humour and besides showing us your recipes you always add a bit of spice by explaining to your viewers certain details about your past experiences.l hope that the pain in your feet will pass quickly and you will feel better soon. Bye Steve till next time.❤😊
Thank you for your support polin,
Hi, I think you may have sciatica if it is i know about it, i know its very painful so take it easy for a while and rest up.
Good to see your enthusiasm for all things Maltese including there magical bread. Yummy.
😋😊👍
Thanks for the tips! I am a lot better now, its just very hot in Malta
@@EnglishmaninMalta
Yes I see it was hot.🥵
Pleased your on the mend. 👍
How do the two breads you showed us differ in taste/texture? I have tried Hobza and liked it but haven't had Ftira yet.
New resident from Canada here. Loving the vibe and the weather. My fave local items are Kinnie (although I have it sparingly because of the sugar) and multi seed sourdough from Maypole (only available on Wed and Sat). I've been indulging in the latter a bit even though I am gluten intolerant, it is that worth it. The Maltese know how to make good, crusty bread!! They even have the best gluten free baguette I have had, you get it in the freezer section at Pama or Welbee's.
A fun Maltese idiosyncrasy is the free parsley they give out almost anywhere when you ask! I learned about this from our Maltese neighbour!
I do miss ice in drinks though and free decent tap water in restaurants. And root beer. And Frank's Red Hot Sauce, dill pickles.....but that is what trips back home are for I guess :)
You know the bread differ so muct from different bakers across the island, ftira is a slightly softer texture, I didn't have time to go out and buy so much malta as to offer ...Try the fresh cheese and ricotta its yummy !
Hi ya steve , it just means blindly. do you remember in the 70s and 80s the bread had more holes in it.
Everything was better in the 70s & 80s
Maltese bread and Gozo cheese are the best
Yes fresh cheese is awesome
😋 like all of it ! I think my favourite ftira was in Gozo , so good .. good your back getting better , it’s ok to push it but you must have done to much !
Thank you!! 😊
"FTIRA" WITH OLIVE OIL & TOMATOES 🫒 🍅 😋
Steve you now have to register ™️ your "Hobza biz-zejt & Crix Jalapeno🌶️"😂.
I found out some time ago that they do Wholemeal Ftira nowadays - tastier & healthier ❤️🩹 😋.
Hope your back gets better - "keep moving/walking & heat pack👌".
(They most probably get the skin grafting from your thighs or buttocks 🔪😂)
Thanks Steve and GET WELL SOOOOON 🙏.
Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ❤️ 🇪🇺
yes you can get Wholemeal from golden harvest two days a week its very nice even salt free, we have all the mod-cons now in Mlata !! feeling loads better thank you
@@EnglishmaninMaltaGood to hear you're feeling better. Hope those "Back Pain" links I sent you helped 🙏.
