    FUN FACTS ABOUT CHICO CALIFORNIA.
    Not to be confused with Chino, California.
    Chico is the most populous city in Butte County, California, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 86,187, reflecting an increase of 26,233 from the 59,954 counted in the 2000 Census. Following the 2018 Camp Fire that destroyed much of the neighboring town of Paradise, the population of Chico surged as many people who lost their homes in the fire moved to Chico. In 2019, the US Census estimated the population of Chico is 103,301 The city is the cultural, economic, and educational center of the northern Sacramento Valley and home to both California State University, Chico and Bidwell Park, the country's 26th largest municipal park and the 13th largest municipally-owned park. Bidwell Park makes up over 17% of the city.
    Other cities in the Chico Metropolitan Area (population 212,000) include Paradise and Oroville, while local towns and villages (unincorporated areas) include Durham, Cohasset, Dayton, Nord, and Forest Ranch. The Chico Metropolitan Area is the 14th largest Metropolitan Statistical Area in California.
    The nickname "City of Roses" appears on the Seal of the City of Chico. The city has long been called the "City of Trees", and has been designated a Tree City USA for 31 years by the National Arbor Day Foundation.[15][16]

    Went to Chico State University back in the days. It is a cute party town, nice campus, nice people, and hot summers. There is a river that goes through the town where everyone goes to cool down for the summer. Love this place - wish I could move back!

      I love Chico, lived here on and over total of ~6 years
      Beautiful place, natural pristine parks...... but liberals and democrats encourage homeless drug addicts
      liberals don't help people get jobs, they hand out needles and encourage the homeless to sit in their tents and do drugs, spending all their money on fentanyl, funding the cartel which then targets kids, making new homeless drug addicts........so now I have to pick up trash because the city and homeless wont........... if not for me, Bidwell park would be covered in scattered trash

    thanks for making this video. It certainly brings back a good memory i have deep inside my heard as I have spent 4 wonderful years as a student at Chico State.. Chico as I remember is a small town and feel like a ghost town in summer when most of the students left for summer vacation. FYI, Chico sate was ranked as No. 1 party School in the US but it is a great school.

    A lot of out of state homeless were bussed here after the Camp Fire to cash in on all the freebies they were giving to the newly homeless....despicable! Now Chico is struggling with druggies & homeless ...they are becoming more than a nuisance, they are a menace! But Chico itself is a sweet town. I love Chico! Thank you for posting!

    I am moving to this city in 4 months for my schooling. Since Chico is a small city i was wondering how is the transportation out there ? Is it better to get a car or public transit works ?

    • @RDFspaniard
      @RDFspaniard Před 3 lety +1

      Decent public transit, cross county/city bus system. Just a mixed bag on route/wait times depending far you have to go, might wait as long as it would take to walk/bike/drive on the without planning and some luck. Not uncommon with any bus system. The junior college has buses dedicated to them and they fit all but pre 7am class times.

      Chico is bike friendly but there’s been thievery lately so I wouldn’t spend an arm & a leg on a bike...there’s decent transit too, but your own car is easiest.
