Amazing footage. Chico looks even more magical from above
Thank you!!
So fuckin true
I lived in Chico 1982 to 87. Moved there for school, then crashed and burned a year and a half in ( listen when they tell you double majoring in CS and EE is a hard road to walk.) But I loved the town, part times jobs were easy to find and the rent outside the student zone was cheap, so I stuck around.
That’s awesome!! Glad you enjoyed Chico enough to stick around :)
Chico CS major from 82 to 86. Did Masters work from 88-92 or so with stints working jobs in the Bay. Rode a pedicab from 87-92. Chico still has a special place in my heart, even though I haven't lived there in 30 years.
Grew up in Paradise and Chico. The memories man
Awesome - thanks for watching!!
Man, I’d never thought I’d miss Chico so much. But you guys did a great job at highlighting the things that made it special.
Whether on purpose or by chance, I will be coming back to the place I once called home 😁
Nice place to visit
We agree!
love the video! I am glad to see a video about the town and just about the university
Thank you! Appreciate you watching and commenting!

Chico via chicago
Thank you! Hope you have a wonderful time visiting Chico :)
SHUBERTS - Chico, mint chip! I’ve been going up to Chico to see friends for 30 years, and that hands-down is the best quality ice cream for the price I’ve ever had! Love it.
Summers at the Bear Hole are the best!
Agreed!!! And the salmon hole !!! Just watch out for the nudists 😂
My hometown too! Best city ever!
What makes Chico so good is the fact that I am here!!!!!
Definitely one of the highlights!
If I move there is there anything I should know beforehand? Need to find a place I can afford and am looking everywhere. Also kind of don't have a car so, need to be able to walk to stuff and this city seems really nice but also heard bad things about the hospital which freaks me out.
My hometown!!! I do miss it. I left in 2008 for Arizona and only been back twice, once for custody court and one visit when my father passed in 2010. I went to Parkview elementary, Chico High and then Fairview. I was troubled 😂 . I miss fishing deer creek and the Sac and feather river! My grandmother use to be neighbors with the mayor over by Citrus elementary. I miss the trees. Now I'm out in San Tan Valley AZ. I'm glad I left but it was such a big chapter in my life. I left for the middle East the same week 911 happened then return for a few short years and left again. This town is both a blessing and a curse depending on what you make of it. Subbed, thanks for sharing!!! You look really familiar too!!!
My home!
“Surf” coffee shop in Saint Petersburg in Malaya Konyushennsya street
Great video! I'm planning a solo bike trip through chico and def looking forward to these places you mentioned in the video. Side note, any recs on a campsite nearby? Cheers!
Dude I grew up in Chico I went to parkview elemnetary Chico jr/high school, nice video, I left Chico back in 2005 gone back a few times, I do miss it though
chico resident here, incredible video
Thanks for watching!
Me too
Omg...the sausage sampler at Sierra Nevada is my fave!
Their entrees are good too but you can seriously eat a whole meal just ordering appetizers.
I bet you sample a lot of sausage!
The doughnuts ARE just that good.
Right!?! Thanks you for watching!
Was at Voodoos when it opened, Portland was so beautiful back then. It had issues but not even close to what's going on now. Real sad, it was one of my favorite places
That is a fun donut place too. Thanks for watching!
Chico has the best Mexican food in Nor Cal
You missed out bigtime if you didn't hit a taco truck
Also you missed Upper Bidwell Park which is like Yosemite but no crowds and more animals
Next time! What taco truck do you recommend?
@@redheadsinthedesert Tacos el paisa for carne asada burrito (regular is my favorite), Tacos el pinolero, gordo burrito truck, most if not all are great
Awesome! We will make sure to check them out the next time we are in town :)
The Mexican food is so good there. La Hacienda is my favorite
Chico is Fresh……..
✌🏾
Agreed 😎
I'll be moving there. Keeping my red hair also. [Wide knitted headbands cover the roots -- but don't tell anybody!]
Donut nook is the best spot in Chico for donuts
Couldn’t agree more!
If you ever wind up in Vancouver Washington there is a Doughnut Nook sister store to the one I’m Chico. Same doughnuts same taste etc.
Oh really? I wonder how it’s related. Thanks for the tip!
I wish chico was like it was just 10 years ago, the homeless and bad drivers are just a few of the issues that make it irritating on the daily
when did you grow up in Chico?
Bro if I didn’t live in Chico I would can want to but I do
Same
Am thinking hard about moving there to raise a child - don't have much money and wanted to ask if there is anything I should be aware of. Never been there before lol, but I need a place I can afford that I don't need a car for. It's been a bit tough looking and am not from this side of the country so really don't know much about it.
It’s a great place to live!
@@JaskuraLunaris Ah, thank you. I did notice most of the places I looked into were shared housing which is definitely not something I want to do with a child.
@@OffTheWagons Chico started the free needle program and more people died from that then C - 1 9. Look up the rise in crime year by year and you'll think twice about moving there. Sorry for the fact's, but if you have a child it's only fair that someone tells you.
The Vampires?
ta mas o menos así que tu digas ala que chido pues del
Did you know my son? Miyagi Pocock?
Probably, the 118 degrees in the summer
I don’t see Bidwell mansion
I wish it was as awesome as you make it seem... Moved to chico in 2017 for a job from Texas and I miss home everyday. Everyone here is so angry! No southern hospitality, or any hospitality for that matter. Everyone's gone crazy with the whole, you are what you pretend to be going against facts and biology. Oh, and then you've got homeless everywhere you look with no help on the horizon! Horrible, horrible place. My kids Jr high school, chico Jr, allowed and encouraged my daughter to change her gender and identity without even one phone call. People worry more about "feelings" and mental health over honest hard work ethic and family values! I really, really miss home. But what Chico does have going for it is how ridiculous they pay people to work. No matter the job, you get paid very well here. Whether you deserve it or not!
When paradise burned in 2018 many moved to Chico to live in parking lots at first and then well, pg&e continued to burn the housing market in N CA and all over the state and many have had no where to go. Chico is warmer than foothill communities in winter.
You would have loved Chico back in the 80s-90s. People were nicer, jobs were better, rent was reasonable, crime was small.
"family values" Worry about yourself my guy. People have a right to worry about their mental state, especially after the Camp Fire.
