What a fantastic refreshing video! Who knew that watching a caravan being cleaned would be so satisfying. Excellent techniques used throughout, I would maybe consider using a paste wax applied with a polisher but not by hand! 🤣 No wonder you went for a spray sealant. I think if I was going to apply a paste wax, I'd need a week off work!! I know there are professionals out their who wax caravans & boats etc on a regular basis and hats off to them, that is hard work to be doing day in day out 🙌🏼

Hi, thank you! To be honest, caravan cleaning isn't something I specialise in but I imagine if your search for interior cushion cleaning or car interior shampoo videos you might find something that helps 👍🏼
Woow. This was fun to watch. I used to wash my cars the in the same way. We just bought our first caravan (Elldis Avante 462) and I'm really looking forward to wash it. It gives you lots of joy, isn't it? Nice video any way. Well done.

Some good tips. I think keeping those joints clean is very important as I’ve seen on my parents one dirty looking water marks dried on which must be from running out of those areas, and a snow sealant is definitely the way to go I definitely wouldn’t want to be trying to reach all over and getting in all the nooks and crannies with a wax or anything.

Definitely spray sealants are the way forward... Id even be prepared to do that once every couple of months rather than applying a wax even once a year!!!

Top video Mark & Happy Birthday Dad 🎂. I know how hard work cleaning a caravan is Mark as we have a static van in Devon and that takes me a whole day to clean. As Im nearly the same age as your Dad (6 months younger) then you can clean mine on my birthday 🤣. I think a few more videos with the polishing machine would be great. Well done mate👍

Great video and great demonstration of how to safely clean a caravan mate. If you get it wrong and go with to much pressure you can break through all kinds of seals on them. Would be interesting to see an update on the ceramic sealant a year later mate.

Am using a similar product on my car as your ceramic snow seal. It’s called Gyeon wet look. A get good results.

Surgery video, whitty comments were great too. Is there a type of protection that could be applied to the underneath do you know?
Thanks Alex... I'm not a caravan expert so probably not the best person to ask (I don't want to give you bad information!) but I've read from numerous sources that you shouldn't 'seal' the underside of a caravan - not with the likes of Waxoil etc that people would use on a cars underbody!
Apparently this is because the underside of the wooden floor/frame needs to breathe and the wood is treated anyway.
But to be honest you would be better speaking with a caravan expert, something I most definitely am not 🤣👍🏼

Like I said I'm no expert on caravans, certainly not underbodies, but I have read that the underside shouldn't be sealed the same way you would a car, for that very reason! 👍🏼
Hi mate great video & oh happy birthday Dad 😀👍🏆. I have found Autoglym motor home & caravan cleaner the best to bring all the plastics back to bright white & rid that yellowness they sometimes take on. I have one question though- after getting the van lovely & clean what do you use to get it shiny again & stop it dulling? Cheers again. 👍

I'm getting my hands on some dedicated 'lesiure' products (for caravans & boats lol) in the next couple of weeks, one of which is specifically designed to treat that yellowing effect so I'll be making a few videos on those 👍🏼 make sure you've subscribed so you see them (shameless plug I know lol)
As for getting it shinny, once it arrives at a site it's generally given a very quick wash, and followed up with any car Quick Detailer spray 👍🏼

Hi Connie. Unfortunately unless you're in a caravan site near me I won't be able to help lol any chemicals you use would need to be thoroughly rinsed and unless you're happy/confident to go up a ladder then I'm afraid you might have to find a helpful/willing person to do it for you ☹️
As for which products to use, well I've actually recently been sent a lot of caravan/motorhome etc. dedicated cleaning products to test out/review so I will hopefully have a video uploaded on those early summer which you might find interesting - if you're subscribed that is! - I haven't used them yet so can't say if they're any good or not!

Cracking video, what’s the opinion on the snow sealant? Durable? Nice finish? Still apply a QD after?
For this type of job it's perfect, and on the caravan it should last a couple of months at least.. I wouldn't even bother with a QD, only washing the caravan 2-3 times a year so if just use a spray sealant every time, for all you're using and all the time it takes 👍🏼

I never did get around to the video, well not yet but I do plan on it very soon - the products I actually used there was Meguiar's Ultimate Polish but any decent polishing compound should do it. I would just always recommend testing on a less noticeable area first (bathroom window for example 👍🏼)

Will you be doing it by hand or by machine???
If by hand then it will be a lot more work but will massively reduce the risk of doing any harm whatsoever.
By machine and the risks obviously increase but so long as you don't overwork it, keep the speed low and don't apply much pressure - remember it's a soft plastic so it will heat up quite quickly. Do little bits at a time if you're not overly comfortable/experienced.
Always better to do it gently 4 or 5 times than go crazy with 1 attempt and go too far!!!
