    Hi Dan, just watched your Silky cleaning video. A little tip for yourself and your viewers, when using a paint brush, wrap the metal up. Maybe insulation tape, stops the metal scratching. Great video Dan and Tom👍😎

    The silky cream is amazing at getting the black streaks off. I could not believe how easy it is to use and how effective it is.

    Watched all your 3 cleaning videos. Now that’s an amazing product, wish we’d known about them when we had our boat 😉 ps you don’t want a boat, keep caravanning - we sadly sold our boat because of Brexit, and have gone back to caravanning. It was a sad time for us, but looking forward to some happy ones ahead and our first real trip out this weekend. Will be showing hubby Alan your channel, thanks for your knowledge and for sharing 👍

    I use a Bosch portable pressure washer which is much better than a garden spray. Takes 15 litres of water and is easy to fill from a watering can and has a brush fitting too.

    Based on the rave review, I’ve just bought my first pot of Silky to attack my first ever caravan :) Keep up the good work. Coming soon on my channel, chuckle at my expense as I attempt to figure out how everything in my used van works!

    Great tips Dan, unfortunatly on our storage site it's not really possible to clean our van so we have to do it when we're away, hopefully next year new caravan new storage site we may even be next to you.

    My boat takes two days to clean! Not used silky on it think I’ll give it a go. Just used silky on the van very impressed. Didn’t know they did an antioxidant I need that on one side of my van.

    Looks good. We used the Silky cream 25 years ago on our first van. We thought it was pretty good but found Mer car polish easier to use. A better test would be to clean the van you are parked next to. Our current van has been Paint Sealed so we currently just use water.

      Hi Steve,
      Yes - the van behind us is a bit poorly, a good clean will help it no doubt.
      Thanks for popping by.

    Talking of tips I have one for you, on your paintbrush wrap tape around it so it just go's over the edge on the brush side, that way when you catch it on some thing their is less chance you will damage the surface of what ever you are cleaning.

    Hi Guys, great video. The results look good...but what would be super impressive is to see the results of cleaning the filthy caravan in the back of shot at the beginning of the video...it is minging! Keep up the great work lads :)

    Hi Dan, great results, but like others, I baulked at the cost of the cutting compound!
    Need to find either a cheaper source or an alternative cutting compound. Have you heard of Farecia Profile 500?
    I used Waterless Wash and Wax cleaner on the van last year and found it very easy to use and gives a good protective finish. Also easy to clean on site on arrival to remove dead insects and road grime!
    Keep up the good work,
    Andy.

    Hi Dan, as a newcomer to caravanning I've picked up many tips and tricks from your vids! Thank you. Now perhaps you can let me know how you motivate Tom to help? My 9 yr old is less interested :) Hehe.

      @TheTrudgians  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Andy,
      Thanks for your kind words - The motivation usually comes in the form or bribery lol. No Tom really enjoys fiddling with anything under the van and really enjoys making the videos - he is a key part in the whole process, i genuinely couldn't do it without him.
      Thanks for popping by, and I'm glad the videos are coming in handy.
      Take care

    Nice videos. Just watched the latest cleaning video looks like nice products but just looked up the prices near passed out! We not collected our van yet but should be in a week or so time. Maybe one day bump into you at longleat! We're going this new year.

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  Před 7 lety

      Hi Damian, Thanks for the comment - You can get away with just using the cream cleaner - that will be good enough for getting the van clean.
      Have a look at our "Caravan Cleaning" video - that shows that you can clean a caravan using other products too - and it also shows how we clean the van on a regular basis.
      Hope that helps.

    Hi Dan, would the cream cleaner be any good for the wash room sink inside the van or is it external use only? I have noticed that our sink is slightly rough but don't want to use normal household stuff on it in case it makes it worse.
    Cathryn

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Cathryn.
      I would give it a go. its not an abrasive cleaner, so won't scratch the sink etc and certainly won't hurt the plastics inside the van. Let me know how you get on.

    hi dan hope your all well i have a much older caravan (1995/96) with look a like magnolia/off cream colour would this product work on it? also do you use the creamer on the roof? nooks and cranny's? basically every where outside? thanks

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  Před 7 lety

      Morning, Yes Silky cream cleaner will be brilliant on the outside, no matter the colour. When you rub it onto the surface it turns soapy so it gently but incredibly easily removes dirt. For the nooks and cranny's i use a clean paint brush to really agitate the cleaner into those areas and its incredible how much much you can remove.
      We used it again this weekend and i must say its possibly my favourite cleaning product for outside the 'van.
      Hope that helps.
      Dan

    • @GINGERDAVID90

      Was it easier this time? Less hard work and elbow greese

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  Před 7 lety

      Yes it was. but then I always wax the van anyway. I find this makes a huge difference. As an idea Tom & I snow foam, wash, wipe down, get into the bad areas, rinse, wipe down & wax the whole van and we complete this in just under two hours. This includes a coffee break, crap jokes and we certainly don't rush. It doesn't include the roof however, we do that on a separate day and that takes some time to do !!
      I hope that helps.
      Dand

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Carol, yes I use the Silky on the windows, BUT i do apply it with my fingers, and ensure i don't have any grit or dirt on the wind before I start. This will reduce the risk of scratches massively.
      Thanks for your comments, I hope this helps

      Morning Diane,
      Sorry - that's not entirely clear in the video. We did wash down with plain water after we used the cream cleaner. Again we used the pump up spray bottles that we have been using for a couple of years now.
      Hope that helps.

    Hi, we have a grey sided caravan, would the cream cleaner be ok?

    • @TheTrudgians
      @TheTrudgians  Před 7 lety

      Hi Mark, yes it would, it's incredibly gentle to all surfaces and will remove a lot of the contaminants that a van can get when on site. We have just returned from a short break and acquired some tree sap and muck, The Cream Cleaner pulled it all off using just a damp micro fibre cloth.
      Hope that helps

  • @jamesfoote8916
    @jamesfoote8916 Před 5 lety +2

    No No No you must clean the caravan first to get rid of the grit. Cleaning with the silky as you did the cloth will pick up the dirt and you are spreading all the grip and this will produce scratches. Once you have cleaned you use the silky to remove the rest of the dirt. I teach car detailing and the hole process is to stop scratches. Never use Circular motions always use straight this stops swells and the dueling affect on the paint
    Caravan paint is very soft if you are having to use a cutting compound you use it must be the lowest possible I am not Shaw the boat one is ok for a caravan. If you are going to use cutting compounds on a caravan or even a car you want to buy a paint thickness gauge.
    Sorry to be negative on this video I like most of your videos.

      @TheTrudgians  Před 7 lety

      Morning Chris, I'm sure he was thinking about food / girlfriend at this point lol.
      No, we don't cover our van, simply because we keep using it. If we did cover it, it would block out the solar panel - so weekly inspections and checking up on it is what we usually do.
      Good luck covering your van. Do you have a helper to assist you or is it a solo job ?
      Take care

      The Trudgians morning Dan, it's a job to do on my own as it's a excuse for me to dissappear for a day or two.
      I removed the caravan battery and charger it at home as batteries don't like FROST.
