My only issue with the Falcons is they didn’t get a edge rusher in free agency
You definitely wouldn’t have been able to get Penix if you traded down because someone would’ve traded up (i.e., Vegas or Minnesota)
exactly the talking heads like to act like they know what all the teams are thinking. Word is 3 teams at least the Hawks, Saints and Raiders were looking to move up for Penix. The Falcons surely received calls to see if they were open for business since no one had them taking a QB. So they likely knew what some of the interest level was.
What's funny is all these NFL podcast people are all saying nix and pinex would fall to the 2nd round or late 20s at best. While every top notch real NFL insider is saying teams were making calls for the 9th 10th and 11th pick to trade up for JJ, Pinex, and Nix. Everyone knew the raiders wanted pinex and the broncos wanted nix and the vikings wanted JJ so im sure the raiders would have traded up if the falcons passed on him. You need the plan so what happened the last 4 years doesn't happen again
You obviously didn’t watch ATL games last year. The defense was not the reason their record was bad. It was their QB play. 100%.

Haha I think they do all the time because the majority of women do wear tons of make up, all fake artificial, women don't understand that they are all beautiful in their own way, don't need make up or any of this. The more make up, the more they are trying to hide. Yeah red flags for me lol fake.

Do you really think the Falcons thought they could move back and get Penix? The Falcons surely received calls to see if they were open for business since no one had them taking a QB. So they likely knew what some of the interest level was so they made their move.
They went through a period where Matty Ice got older and they were left without a QB. If thinks work out and Cousins is great for 2 years they wont be anywhere near the top half of the draft to select a guy like Penix again. Or if Cousins struggles, starts getting injured they have Penix in the wings ready to keep that team competitive. While he wont carry any of that high pick expectations with Cousins there allowing him hopefully to adjust and be ready to play.

In the 2016 year the falcons defence wasn’t good, the offence was just putting up so much points it made teams on dimensional. The defence was average offence was crazy good.

You both are wrong. These 3 qbs were going to be taken early. Altanta knee because Im sure teams were calling to trade up. Penix wasn't high on scouts lists but the coaches love him.
You guys are too funny. Michael is an insurance policy, and who knows if he would have been there in the later rounds? This was an excellent pick. The NFL has been destroying young QBs careers by putting them on the field on day one.
Hmm idk maybe because its a 36 year old QB coming off a major injury, reason why the Falcons only guaranteed 2 years of the 4, as well the falcons might not get the chance to draft a QB like this in the First top 10 picks. Obviously if cousins is healthy, he gives them a way better chance at QB and making the playoffs in that weak divison then the QB they had, so if the falcons make the playoffs for the nexf 2 years, their drafting in the first round drops from top 10 to what the late teens maybe 20's as most playoff teams, thats why they took him at 8. I love the move, just hope penix becomes what he is projected to be
