Original version from their 1988 album OU812. Despite the album being seemingly complete, Eddie Van Halen came up with the riff at 2 in the morning and went down to his then-neighbor Sammy Hagar to show it. Hagar let Eddie in, and the two played guitars in his balcony until they had a completed song. Once Eddie left, Hagar decided to write the lyrics despite being late at night.
The footage for "Live: Right Here, Right Now" was filmed with 15 cameras over two nights, May 14 and 15, 1992 and mixed together by editor Mitchell Sinoway, with the bulk of the footage and music coming from the second night. - Zábava
Sammy Rocks
Van Haggar days are the best and the most successful without Roth.
This was 4 years after I was born yet feels timeless. God I feel blessed to be a hardcore Van Halen fan...
Talent, professionalism, grove, jam, entertainment, joy, glad I grew up being able to see this stuff. So hard core good.
Sammy improved Van Halen and Van Halen improved Sammy❤
Gold.....
Makes me wanna CRY I MISS EDDIE SO BAD 😢 What a huge loss to the world of Rock ! Feel so bad for his family and all of us that grew up with him.
Such an awesome version...they added so much energy to the live take. I can't tell you how many times I've listened to that outro solo -- over and over and over again! One of these days I just need to edit an MP3 with the outro repeated about 5 times!
Radical. F'ing raaaaaadical.
These upscale Van Halen videos look awesome!
Best!
A gawddamned super group if I ever saw one. Sammy brought a whole other level of songwriting to the boys. And how about Michael Anthony...such a solid musician all around. RIP Eddie.
Is the whole dvd available as upscale?
It's possible somewhere. I know I haven't done the entire concert.
Yet.
It was a strange decision to cut between multiple shows. Makes it clear we’re not watching a live show.
Huh? Tell that to the audience in attendance.
A lot of bands do that. This editor was a douche though.
@@CrosscutFilmsSask what I meant was that the home audience knows it was not recorded “live to tape”.
@@truthh8322 Bands would do that for music videos, but for live videos they tend to use footage from one show (or multiple shows if they wore the same outfits).
