- Check out this new pen from Uniball! I love the Signo line, and this pen purports to be better than the 207. Is it better than the 207? What about the 307? We're going to explore all of those questions in this video.

** I bought these pens. What you see is what I got! **

I love these. I bought them for my checkbook and now also use it in my EDC notebook.
The "nano fiber" ink in the 307 has always been my absolute favorite. So rich, so dark, so smooth and surprisingly fast drying. I use the Signo DX a lot b/c I like the small size and color options but really all the uniball Signo pens are so good!!
Yep. I'm a big fan of the Signo, myself. And these 207 Plus pens seem really good.
I know it's been a year but could I ask you about the signo dx? I like using highlighter and I was wondering if you know wether it smears when highlighted? 😅
I bought the color pack last night. Gorgeous ink delivery. I have every color of the um 151, and while I'm a big fan I was interested in this pen. Highly recommend.
Thank you! I had a real hard time trying to figure out if I wanted the 207 or 207 PLUS+. Your writing examples were excellent. The plus it is! $4.50 for a 4 pack!
I've had a 207 Plus+ 3-color set for a while, but went back and reviewed them again for drawing this evening after getting additional time and experience using a lot of other things over the past year. They hold up really well - they don't skip much, and aren't as slippery as the original Signo 207, Jetstreams or many rollerballs. The 207 Plus+ also doesn't have much feathering, which is definitely a thing about the rollerballs that holds them back on many papers. Just a nice, juicy, slightly grungy line that sculpts well, and one of the most balanced options among the "office pens" I have. The fineliners and brush pens can get a more precise line of course, but this is one I might start reaching for to bring in character.
Interesting! I don't draw, but this is good info to know. I really like the 207+ pens, and the refills get transferred to some fancier bodies sometimes.
I've recently been into collecting pens because i picked up writing/journaling again. Once you notice all pens are not the same, you start wanting to find out which ones are the best for each situation. I was using zebra pens a lot but i got some Uniball pens recently and they've been pretty great. I mostly love fine points (0.7 and lower) and I'm looking for pens that won't smear when highlighted. 😊
Just wait until you get into highlighters! My go-to for non-smearing are the Staedtler Textsurfer and (recently) some Monami highlighters.
The 307’s improvement over the 207 is the ability to write on shiny smooth paper that usually gives gel pens difficulty.
Great reading as usual. Got an idea for new merch. How about a shirt/cup that says "The cards are listening" with a 3 card spread under it that says something like "You are loved" or "The universe always wins". Or something like it. Then when people ask what it means I get to tell them about you. Keep up the awesome readings. Love from Colorado
Just got the 207+ for the couple of checks I write. Had one client that required everything be signed in blue.
I hardly ever write checks anymore, but these are supposed to be good for that. They’re also good for addresses on letters and the like.
Is the 207+ impervious to check washing? That's the MOST IMPORTANT aspect of using a pen now.
I don’t know about “impervious,” but it is an ink that is designed to resist that. From the Uniball site: “uni Super Ink Plus+ entraps the gel ink in the paper, creating a strong bond that resists document fraud for greater security”
Will the 207 plus be able to withstand check washing like the 207?
I bet it would, but they don't seem to talk about that on their website any longer so I'll have to wait to check the packaging until I go to the store next.
There is a video about your
Can I subscribe? 15-01 and 22-01 are date codes. 15-01 means year 2015 month 1 (Jan), and 22-01 means 2022 Jan.
UMR-87 is normal Signo ink.
UMR-87E is "nanofiber" ink.
Another video I just watched so these are the only pins in the world that are basically immune to check washing fraud. Once you write on a check with this Hank there's no way to wash it off.
Frank Abagnale recommends the 207, and he should know.
The 15/01 and 22/01 on the refills denote production date.
That was my suspicion.
These are great pens!
I think so, too!
Do a video review of tru red gel pens in blue medium point they write better and darker than Uniball signo 207 pens
Will it write upside down?
It's not pressurized as far as I know, so probably not as well or for as long as some of those pressurized pens.
Plus+ line is more solid IMHO
Does the 207 Plus+ have the same anti-fraud properties as the 207?
That’s a good question. Their website doesn’t mention them for either pen. 🤷🏼♂️
@@inkdependence Why didn't you do that test while making this video? I watched while waiting for the test that never came!
The main thing is to get the proper one to write a check.
Right. I don't write very many checks these days, but I do try and do it in an ink that can't be destroyed very easily.
And which one is that?
Need a .38!!!
That might work for a gel, but .38 is usually fine a point for me.
There is a 307 .38. Has a white pen body. Great pen.
I read that 307 is exactly the same as 207+ on Reddit but the writing in this video is obviously different.
Yeah, it's definitely not the same ink. Very different characteristics and performance.
the 207+ uses the same ink refill as the 307 for what it's worth
Do you have a source for that info? They both say "UMR-87E" on the refill, but the rest of the numbers are different. And the ad copy doesn't mention "nano-fibers" for the 207+. And they do seem to perform differently. It's always a little difficult to find information on specific inks in standard pens, and so I'd love to get more information.
The source is that the refills are named the same.
The idea is that this brand of pen is anti fraud. this video does not mention this. Are they anti fraud???
Yep. They are. I don’t think they had the info on their website when I made this video. They were fresh on the market at the time.
You could be a doctor haha
Excellent review!
Is the Signo 307 still in production? I loved those.
Yep. It seems like they are. I thought they were replaced by the 207+, but apparently not!
