Nice one smash!
Cockles are such an underrated shell fish!
A slosh of double cream , half a clive of garlic, parsley and black pepper to that sauce and add to pasta if you wanna make it a larger meal 👌 woooo
As you told us to discard any that failed to open as they might be a bit funny inside I was reminded of that old chestnut:- Two cannibals were eating a clown and one says to the other, does this taste funny to you?
😂😂🤡
@@julzcarpenter5431 😂👍
😂😂😂
The Benny Hill footage of you pushing that net had me in stitches :-)
i do love cockles and i am lucky to live 20 minutes away from the famous bury estuary famous for its cockles .. when we go after them i pig out for a couple of days ....
You really put your heart and SOUL into this video, well done jay.
Thanks mate was a fun day
Always love to end the evening with a catch and cook vid! thanks for sharing smash!
Love the ol cockle for ages! Do you suppose tourists driving by say "that poor man has to rake that whole beach by himself" and think thats your job to flatten the beach?🤣🤣🤣👍
what's not to like about a smash catch & cook yum yum
Looks delicious!?? 😋
I would have a baked potato and garlic toast and some other veggies or a salad with it, would be way better!!!
I think. 🤷🏻♂️
Finally something good to watch!
Yummmm
Drooling here!!
Amazing, loving those tiny flatfish
looks awesome...another great video
Cracking video I’ve been push netting in years as well 🎣🎣
Thanks for another great vid, and all the others during the COVID lockdowns, certainly helped to keep the spirits up, you’re a good lad Jay🦞
As always amazing content Smash!
Tried this recipe for dinner tonight was amazing..
I enjoy watching your posts. I would love to do stuff like that, but I live I central Alaska. I'm hundreds of miles away from the ocean. Keep up the good work!
Excellent video Jay 👍,
Legend of the shores Smash of the seas
Great Smash. Top with MicroGreens.
Might be 2am here but who could go to bed knowing an awesome SMASH upload is waiting , cheers Jay again the quality of the video is 10 out of 10 👌
Haha your a legend mate thanks for watching
Another good foraging and cook and dine for us views to see brilliant as normal jay yum yum 👍🦞
Your "3 pointer!" sounded much more like an air ball Jay! I didn't hear any bucket noise off camera after the shot! ;)
😂😂 it’s because I missed completely lol I was being sarcastic in the video 😂
I recommend adding coconut milk and lime leaves next time. With any bread 👌
I was watching this when I realised that my cat, who was sat next to me, was watching, too, mesmerised by the sight of you raking through the sand for cockles!
That looks amazing Smash, I love mussels, they're similar I guess. Gonna have a look for some locally
i absolutely love cockles!!
Well cool to see all the little flat fish. We don’t get them here. Have you noticed if your over 6 foot they never make tools for us tall lads.😂. Catch you on the next one 👍🇨🇦
That’s so true lol thanks for watching Timothy
Yay new video!
Nice forage, lovely to see the baby flatfish whatever the species, great cook up (nice and simple). Do you think cockles would go well in a white wine & garlic sauce? Thanks for posting.
Almost to 100k , wtg! Subbed to help reach that milestone goal! I appreciate your videos and catch and cook.
Thanks for your part in supporting my number one favourite channel. Enjoy catching up with older videos and use👍to mark what you have seen😃👏
yum
Sea food muckbang 🤣👍. Brilliant vid matey, cheers!
You need to try Clams , Mussels or any shellfish with an Asian dressing. It'll take them to another level. Definitely worth a try. I'll send you a really simple and fantastic recipe to try..... sweet , sour , spicy , salty and savoury 😍 The 5 tastes of Asia.
Seems like such a comfort food.
Love these little trips Jay, looks like fun, here from the Rocky Mountains of Montana:) Love all your vids man, really happy I subbed.
Another outstanding meal cooked by smash Ramsey surely you must be craving some 🦞 Jay top foraging again 😀😀
Nice the cockles 'sounded' lovely Smash. 😁👍
When I lived in north Carolina, we had to use a clam gauge, and we used corn meal for purging for 2 days
Looks good. I like to add a bit of white wine and spice to the sauce and some fresh parsley. Also some fresh crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
Jay: talked about how the rake will stop him from bending over
Also Jay: *starts bending over while raking*
Me: 👁️👄👁️
STOP bending Smash; squat instead. Protect your back!
And, why does Sam always look like Sheamus whenever he gets a haircut?
I think they would go well in Taco boats lettuce and sweet chilli sauce. Great footage mate really interesting.
Definitely mate !
Grate video mate iv had soul and place down there mate
Wow i like this video i always waiting for your more videos keep safe always and god blessed😊😇
epic vids as always much love from south west in devon
Nice Video Bro!
Nice to see a video on the simple things available to you. Backbreaking looking for them though. Lovely cook up.
I’m surprised that you didn’t take those baby flat fish home for your tank 🤣
You found a fish nursery. They likely spawn in that area on high tides. I would imagine outside of predatory worms, the little buggers are pretty safe there... at least until smash gets nosy and gets the old push net out. Interesting to see ! you may have also located a solid area to fish if you can figure out when they come in to spawn .
i guess it is kind of off topic but do anybody know of a good place to stream new series online ?
@Van Brecken ehh I'd suggest flixportal. Just google for it:P -griffin
@Griffin Apollo thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service :D I really appreciate it !
@Van Brecken you are welcome :D
Smashing cooky got my looky
Beautiful vid. Lovely cookup. 👍🏻😋
Thanks you
You snoring while you are awake... funny
Imagine some smoked bacon lardons in with that
Fresh lemon 🍋
great video, really cool flatfish and nice catch n' cook
tight lines🎣🦞👍
Thanks mate
Fantastic stuff.
Thanks David
Enjoyable video as always Smash who would have thought there would be all those baby fish were there is a chance of people walking when the tide is low as for the cockles think I will have to try them tight lines till the next one
Awesome Video!!! The whole video was as really dream! LOL
I forgot, Does Jen like seafood?
smoked paprika, tarragon and garlic powder... the magical essence. You can even add a dash of cumin
Hell ya, woo!
As I have said before, Gordon Ramsay has nothing on you. Great video! Be well!
Good vid again moveys I had a nice 5lb bass last night in jersey nice to get a big dog
Nice fish mate ! Thanks for watching
nice one smasher
Thanks mate
Boom!
Nex adventure looking for eels😊👍
They sound lovely smash, 😂😂🤭🤭👍
looks good, could use some noodles likely
Maybe next time, try using white wine instead of the water for extra flavour. Hell ya!
Ich glaube, ich komme mal zum Essen vorbei! Liebe Grüße aus Wuppertal, Deutschland.
Great video smash. Love cockalls
Thanks mate
Cool film man - when will the prawns be back under the rocks at low tide do you know?
Nice one mate!
I cant eat them..another shell fish IM allergic to....but glad you can get this free food for sure.
How do you only have 93k subs you should have so many more
You really should do a Guernsey butter factory special
Jay can be my beer pong partner lol
What months are good for cockles? With mussels I know it's a month with an "r" in, so September to April, so is there a rule for cockles? Great video again.
Loved this forage! This is one of those videos that unfortunately tests my strong aversion to mouth sounds! I always have to stop the videos before the taste testing. Oh well!
The only place I know near me to get cockles is in the harbour and I dont fancy eating anything from the harbour tho lol.
Definitely best not to in that case mate
never really had a chance to eat fresh one love pickeld cockals tho
Pickled cockles are my fave 🙂 got any other recipes for them rather than this?
The cockles you pickled in an earlier video, how did they turn out?
Looks like fun the push netting... that’s the kind of thing I’d enjoy 😊
I’m not sure as I made them for my pop haha thanks for watching julz
your in whats known as the flatfish pool at amra by the look of things . Had brill turbert place and sole while diving further around from there so more then likely you have netted all of those
That’s it mate iv fished there loads but never caught a flattie lol thanks for watching
Mate! PASTA AND WHIT WINE.
Hey hey,do you refrigerate them while your perging them,or just leave them out.?
My grandad used to send me out "push netting" in "cooden' sussex way. little did i know i was feeding him dinner and i wasnt interested in eating the prawns. Canny ol bugger
Or cook with 黄酒
Would you be able to catch brown ship carch and cook 👍
need some good garlic bread or ciabatta bread
I would eat this with crusty bread roll to soak up that soupy goodness
Damn rakes are expensive!
Really need to replace your water with chardonnay for steaming. Makes for a very flavorful sauce for bread/toast dipping afterwards!
Thanks for the tips
Aye and cream instead of more butter 😉 or creme fresh
I heard if you add a little corn meal to the water, it causes Bivalves to purge quickly.
Is that real? or is it a wives tale.
OMG,£27 for a rake 🤦♂️ mind you it worked well 👍 can't believe how many worm casts there were too 🎣
I went Cockling at Mont Saint Michel No rake just scraping with my hands got half a carrier bag full
In about an hour
Be nice if some knife maker sent you a couple good kitchen knives.
You ever catch any seahorse
there are a LOT of syphon mounds where your raking what other clams are there?
Razor clam , gapers , loads of different worms
@@SMASHFISHING tanks for the fast reply how about a video digging and razors
Less work matey 😂
