also, culinarily speaking... I love how simple you cook your seafood. It's one of the few things that a lot of chef here in the US try to over complicate, and you never really taste the fish itself.

I remember long ago watching a fishing show and what they did while taking off the skin was the he would make a hole in the tail end of the fish, insert his finger and use that to pull as you slide the knife as you deskin the fish. The fish can get slippery so this seems like a good idea when working with knives.
Such a special time every time you go out with Dad. Definitely cherish these memories.

I’ve found that using potatostarch instead of flour makes the fish even crispier! And the use of half oil and half butter helps too. Very tasty. 😋

NO NO NO.!!! No sauce. You want to taste the fish. NOT the sauce. What were you thinking.?? If you want to add something, just add salt pepper and maybe a pinch of chili powder into your flour. Stir the dry mix together and then drop your fillets into the dry mix before frying. Sauce overpowers the flavor. But the dry mix doesn't. It enhances the flavor of the fish. Btw, that method was passed on to me, from a mate of mine, who was a chef on a deep sea trawler working south of Nz. And he was cooking for a fussy fishing crew. Love your channel. Take care mate. How does your dad keep the seagulls of the fish he has drying on the boat. Tried drying fish before but had problems with them being attacked by the pesky seagulls
