    What confuses me, if the city wants it maintained and there are people within that city ordered "community service " get those folks on the overgrown unkempt yards. Some elderly folks or disabled can't take care of their yards. If the court orders community service....put them to actual work.

    • @HFConstruction

      @@HFConstruction most folks put on community service, don't actually do anything. This would be a win win solution. I'm trying to be nice since we all know a crime would have been committed to be court ordered community service. ;)

    I really wonder why people have to let their properties get like this.
    This house is obviously abandoned. No one is currently living in it. What I don't get is WHY that's the situation. How can anyone just leave an asset like a house that can provide them with an income from rent to degrade like this. WHY has it not been rented out or sold to someone who can give it the attention it needs.
    It's sad to think that there are people out there who are that self absorbed they can't do the right thing by the neighbours who live on either side.

      Why are the neighbors responsible? This house has been abandoned. And probably for some time. There is a reason the person next door put up a 6 foot fence. Also, you would be trespassing. This is the city responsibility; call them. Better yet, you can look up who the owner is and call them or drop them a line. Sure it's just an oversight by the owner.

    The city I used to live near wouldn't put up with property like that, you would be giving multiple notices to repair your house, clean the yard,or in a period of time if not done, the house would be demolished and a lean on the property for the expenses. But great job again guys.

    • @naturefeeder5748
      @naturefeeder5748 Před 2 lety +3

      It is possible that someone already has a lien on the house. When someone ends up in a “nursing home” and their money runs out, which it does very quickly, their insurance will switch from Medicare to Medicaid. At that point the State can put a lien on their assets, but not be able to do anything with it until the homeowner actually passes away. The homeowner can not maintain the property, the state will not maintain the property, family members if there are any, are not allowed to to sell or rent out the property to make money for taxes or maintenance. Of course it varies from state to state, but it is sad and complicated for everyone. It is very kind of you to take care of “your little corner of the world” more people need to be like you. Just a friendly little reminder - it could happen to anyone, at any age, so plan ahead, way, way, ahead.

Perhaps the bank could help them arrange for them to pay a little bit each month towards lawn care? Or perhaps Fall River Lawn Care could do this? We learned a long time ago that people who get something for nothing are not as likely to take care of it as those who have to pay for the same thing. Bless you for all you are doing for folks.
