Fans: "Dude, wtf?"
Creators: "Yeah... we're not real proud of this one either.."
I love Rick and Morty but lately this season feels weak, and this ep didn't make my perception better, sometimes I feel like I could write a better plot for this season.
@@cejuonline It starded so good with the Mr. Nimbus one, and then the decoys, i though they were on a roll. But, soon after there's episode 3 which is... supposed to make us feel bad, i guess? Even though Rick and Morty have killed many more innocents throghtout the series. It just feels out of place. This one is just gross, and the Gotron one, that has leaked this week, is just... boring and full of dated references. I still think season 3 is still the worst so far besides one or two great episodes but they haven't recovered from the hype this series recieved
Yeah, even the Creators seemed fucking weirded out by this.

Unfortunately self awareness is only the first step
I thought it would like evolve from the opening clip posted not a discussion about how morty has to stop doing shut like this, but it was too shallow for that I guess. And usually the dumb fun episodes without any emotional depth at the very least have creative premises (like many early season one episodes and story train) but this is just dumb
I was more fascinated by the fact that Rick called Morty "kiddo" in that episode.
Also called him "bud" in that Wendy's AD
And he asked Morty how his day was?!
This premise was way more interesting than giant sperm and incestbabies.
@Fakez maybe you should try making content instead of begging
@Cof homie have some self respect and make some content instead of begging in a weird Google doc font.
Hmmmmmm
To be honest, this episode should have ended with Morty and rick watching the events play out from the perspective of interdimensional cable. They knew for months working on it that it was going to be cringe-worthy content full of bad jokes and no real plot. Even though it would have still been just as pointless to spend a full episode over whatever this was, I could easily see a lot of people be glad that something like this would not have been attached to the family we know.
Same, while I was half way through the episode I was hoping at the end it would’ve just been Rick and morty watching it on Inter dimensional cable and calling it trash and walking out. I’m still pissed that they included incest before they even continued where they left off with the citadel, bird person, and so many more cliff hangers that everyone wants to actually see. I didn’t like season 4 because it felt like they were trying to hard, but at least it had good and functional plots that didn’t make me feel like I was watching one of my batshit crazy dreams that make no sense. Idk why but I’m super depressed that season 5 sucks so far, I really hope it turns around in the next remaining episodes of the season

Everything was so out of character for everyone in this episode. It was like different dimension. I saw a theory a while back that every episode might be different dimensions of Rick and Morty and I'm starting to think this however pointless, might be true.
@Khuaikhema Hnamte You might be on to something here. As I watched I really felt like this was season 6 and they released it early by mistake. Things are really odd, and if they reveal to us at the end of season 5 that this is all just multidimensional cable it would be a real punch in the mouth.
@Khuaikhema Hnamte Mr.Nimbus mentioned the fact that Morty and Rick went to Atlantis before, because they did in season 3 episodes 7, where they smashed some mermaid puss.
Make of that what you will.
@@theladofwisdom919 someone was paying fucking attention. I consider episodes 1 through 3 continuity since those episodes, even 3, show character growth and really touch on the running themes of the show. Like Morty's outburst in episode 3 is basically the conflict of the entire season so far. He says Planetina is the only one who ever made him feel like he belonged and you have this sense that the entire family have been struggling to find a place that belong too. Episode 1 brings Mr. Nimbus who has intimate knowledge of Rick's personal history that he obviously keeps locked away, thus a reminder to Rick of a time he did belong and what he lost. Rick's position in that episode one of emotional vulnerability, which has been his greatest barrier throughout the show.
Episode 2 was exploring that emotional vulnerability and seeing how someone as dysfunctional as Rick would cope with that. The Puppet Beth at the end of the episode summarized the whole plot of how Rick treats family and relationships and emotional vulnerability as a weakness and burden, and avoids it in practically every way, but has become so attached to this family and committed himself into their lives that he has found himself afraid to lose them, at the expense of the chaos it could cause and you see at the start of the episode how he makes efforts to placate Beth when he has to explain he made sentient life that resembles them not long after she has had to face the possibility that she isnt "real". He actively committed to a decision he knew would upset the rest of the family, especially his daughter whom, since season 3, we have been shown time and time again he genuinely cares for. Making this choice as a means of protecting them without them ever needing to know.
Then episode 3, we see Beth finding her footing as a mother to a young, emotional boy. In season 4 love finders, her attempts at mothering Summer were.... dysfunctional at best, but came from a genuine place. This episode she genuinely comes across as a mother providing the emotional support to her child rather than a disciplinary or protective figure like season 4. This, I feel, is more parallel to season 3 whirley durley conspiracy where she failed to emotionally support summer and when Morty says he would have comforted his daughter by telling her she was pretty, Beth immediately responds with "Ew, gross". But here is Morty, emotionally raw and in pain and she is there for him comforting him and being that mother she never could be in the earlier seasons.
This episode.... I dont know wtf is with this episode. everything about this episode is.....well it exists now. Not sure if it's for the better for it. But uhm... let's just forget this ever happened and move on.
I'm pretty sure Morty lied to the president in the selfy episode so this is a different dimension no reason for the president to think Morty never lies
theories are even more pointless lol. the writers were adding jokes and references, i doubt they have anything climactic or a massive plot in mind.

There’s coming 50 more episodes when this season end so don’t worry the writers will learn.
Amen.
season 5 was reeaaly good to me, better than 3 and 4, so it felt pretty bad to watch this one. After that, the turkey one was also very on average
This was probably one of the worst episodes they have done and what makes it look even more bad is that the last episode before this one was so good
"that was easy" ----Bojack Horsepeople
isn’t it bojack horseman????
Tbh this was my least liked episode so far out of every season.
Wanna say just one word for this episode guys: “Fire the new writers”
Fire DAN HARMON
Fire them and Dan Harmon.
@@COrraThereal0ne the formula for every show created by Dan Harmon needs to have him fired for at least one season so the comeback is better
@@COrraThereal0ne Dan Harmon is one of the main reason’s the show is what it is lol people can mess up without getting fired, just shut up
I feel like this episode was just a fluke of a messy concept being executed porely. The writers have been knocking it out this season exept for this episode
After watching the masterpiece of the Planetina episode, I feel sad now...
This episode was exactly as the writer said "
disgusting and tasteless" I am a huge fan of the show and think this season has been great so far but damn this episode made me embarrassed to have anything to do with the show.
Same
😂 then y’all are pathetic, your life shouldn’t be this tied to the show. Don’t watch South Park or family guy y’all can’t handle it
@@randalthekidd7006 oooo big guy cause he's watched weird stuff
@@randalthekidd7006 Dude stop treating this show like a cult, you can like the show and still think this episode was weird and lame. people like you make me cringe
@@randalthekidd7006 Life Isn't tied to this show. Just disappointed that such a talented staff would be out such a horribly juvenile episode that was gross and not even funny except for a couple lines. And yeah honestly I did have a higher standard for Rick and Morty than south park and family guy but damn they broke the basement floor with this terrible episode.
I guess Morty Smith Junior has a little brother now…
And a cousin
Actually he could be dead already. Remember he ages in a day.
@@votekyle3000 as well as a uncle.
I wouldn't say "little"
Brother cousin
Ok I think I’m fine going back to a year and a half for the next season
“Disgusting and tasteless”
Read my mind
They should've shelved this episode.
Yeah we definitely could've done without this episode
definitely
Agreed. Was thinking about this earlier today.
I wish they did, I'm craving some of that unsee-juice people have been talking about so much
Mixed feelings about this episode. On one hand, there are some funny moments but its mostly gross for me.
Yeah same
he did admit to it being tasteless
Yeah, same here, i laughed when sticky went into the egg and morty spitted out the f word.😂😂
The bits with the horse people and the army solers were funny. And the sperm queen wasn't the worst. But the ending just lost it for me
Yeah same
Imma be honest.
I coulda gone without this one.
We want more episodes like mortyplicity. We need mind bending, not shock factor.
of course this was the episode that my mom wanted to watch with me 🙃
Rest in Peace
That first scene must have been super awkward.
Ahhhhhh yes
*Quality time with family*
If she never saw the show, you shouldve had her watch a classic you knew was good....
You mean your step-mom
i usually find something good in every rick and morty episode but i can’t defend this one.
@@eetueella477 A shit ton of people don't like it
How can you not love incest? (This is a joke, I am not being serious)
This episode perfectly fits the show‘s weirdness, idk why so many think it sucks. I mean Jerry‘s water job alone made this episode comedy gold!
@@endeavor4178 yeah, it’s not bad but it’s not great either. I’d rather watch this episode than the dragon one
@@endeavor4178 too much sex jokes
This honestly felt like a bunch of clips and cutaways that they wanted to do that they then jammed into one episode. I'm not a Rick and Morty Purist who constantly claims that Season 2 is God Tier and everything since has been a let down, but this is honestly the first time since the Dragon episode where I was like...."this finished product still feels like it needs time to marinate in the writers room." I still cant tell you what happened other than Morty and Summer made an incest baby.
Yeah they really just needed to either just do underground cannibalistic horse people or giant sperm
Season 2 worst season honestly
This episode makes Vindicators look like the best episode ever
After so many episodes and somehow they finally crossed the line
The dragon episode was the worst
@@RANDOM-pf1ve
I'm starting to notice a trend here.
Same
I'll confess this is the one episode i'll be skipping from now on
The creators tell us something really important in this episode: "they have substance abuse problems"
...maybe just Dan Harmon
@@benitojmt9526 definitely Dan Harmon, he has....Issues
I wonder when they will say"ya we took it to far"
Remember when rick and morty at least tried to be clever in its absurdity and play with really dark conceptual themes and ideas instead of entirely revolving around grossout humour, and constant action scenes. The pacing has spend up significantly, its like they're afraid to let the scenes and characters breath
the planetina episode had the closest to “letting them breathe” but even it could’ve been paced like 4-5 mins longer and likely would’ve added to the effect.
Episode 5 is also full of action and some space incest baby, not memorable at all.
I never bitch about Rick and Morty but this was honestly the worst episode across the series, which is really sad since the first 3 episodes of this season was some of the best.
agreed!
Agree
Yeah this episode definitely stopped the train... They left a bad taste in my mouth after this episode. Pause
"disgusting and tasteless" good summary
Rick was unbelievably dumb in this episode
Jerry’s ‘Hungry for Apples’ idea was more original than this episode. You come up with this and get paid? lol
I think the stupidity of this episode is supposed to make it unique? Doesn’t prevent me from hating it
It feels like the first half and the last half were written by different teams that didn't communicate... It started off strong but had a weak ending. The second half also had some slapstick jokes that made me feel like I was watching The Simpsons or Family Guy.
Please let this be the single stinker in an otherwise amazing season.
Im find it weird that adult swim didnt do a “dont watch this plz we arent joking” joke with this one
You know what I love most about this episode?
It truly is the perfect example of the creators of Rick and Morty saying to the audience, "We're going to do whatever we really feel like. F*ck you if you don't like it."
Like employing freelance writers and letting them do whatever the fuck they want. It breaks canon? Just blame it on a different universe or a different dimension. Ez pz lmn sqz
And I have no problem with that, so what will happen is the audience myself included will move on to other shows that don't show blatant fetishes the writers have and r & m will be canceled.
No its not 😅 its just a bad episode.
@@alchco5809 Oh, I'm not saying you have to like it or the episode itself.
I just personally admire that they TRULY do NOT care what any of us think. You don't see that a lot these days.
@@alchco5809 blantant fetishes? What are you talking about? The incest thing was clearly a joke, you talking about Rick fucking a horse woman? You know what, that's fair.
I love that Rick and Morty fandom isn't defending this shit episode ❤️
@Miguel Messina I'm the 3 of them my week is fun
The dragon episode looks like art compare to this tbh
I liked the dragon episode. This one was dog shit.
@Miguel Messina oh a lost focus on DC after apocalypse war, how are the new movies?
Nah, I've seen a lot of people come out of the woodwork and defend it. There's a big ass thread on the R&M sub reddit where people are doing it right now.
This episode feels like it was *conceived* in a virtual writer’s room over zoom during the lockdowns and everyone had a hidden bottle of booze under their desk
The fourth episode of every season from now on is going to be uncomfortable and terrible huh
Yea sadly. The last okay 4 episode was the Vindicators one and that was ok tbh
So basically the episode is about morty and summer having segs without actually showing the segs
Kinda?
also horses
In a sense Morty and summer and siblings by force, but lovers by choice
The episode was gross but imagine the process of making it.
"Hey can you design like a giant monster sperm?"
"A *w h a t* "
So basically: "Guys, this episode was weird, we don't know what it is, we don't know what we were thinking, we realize this is disgusting and tasteless, uh..... Yeah."
Just don't go down to Family Guy's level, please.
Well, maybe this one will be their wake-up call.
@@dungeonguy88 I sure hope so, this and one other episode that got leaked I hope are their wake up call. I don’t think the series has ever been this level of bad before, I don’t wanna see it go down that hill because Rick and Morty is one of my favorite adult comedies.
@@RyderPlatinumWarpstar I'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
The first three episodes were all enjoyable in different ways. Good, out there humor. Mix of scientific and philosophical points in each. Each of them revealed a bit more about the characters and where they're at now.
Episode 4 though...it's like some others have said, it was like a slapped together pile of scrapped ideas picked up off the floor. Incoherent, gross, nothing that really offered any insight into the characters or made me think about anything.
Morty jacks off some more and it just keeps getting more fucked up and...that's it.
I have to hold out hope that this is the trench.
@@dungeonguy88 Yeah, it isn’t even the fact that it’s a weird premise, it’s just that it just feels really lazy, and it goes way too far with it when Summer’s part of the story gets involved. It isn’t smart or clever or anything like the show normally is, it’s just gross for the sake of being gross with nothing very funny to back it up.
This and episode 7 are definitely two of my least favorites in this show so far, but I do hope they see it and learn from their mistakes when they move onto Season 6. (Hopefully the other episodes in Season 5 aren’t nearly as bad as this one, I have hope but we’ll have to see.)
Edit: I also forgot to mention that I hate that these episodes just act like the brilliant character arc of Morty in the Planetina episode just didn’t happen. I actually thought that was powerful and that things would change, but no.
@@RyderPlatinumWarpstar episode 7 was pretty good
Writing Staff: How batshit insane do we want Episode 4 to be?
Dan Harmon: YES
It's funny how this whole incest baby situation is actually connected to the episode Amazon leaked by mistake, that being episode 7, Gotron Jerrysis Rickvangelion. Anyways, I just hope they drop this storyline. It's simply as tasteless as they mention.
Nah, this is what the whole seasonal arc is about. Buckle up!
@@robinvik1 aw hell. They better reshoot some scenes or else this season is going down in flames hard
@@robinvik1 Say psyche right now
I don’t mind the whole incest baby thing just as long as it’s done well, and this episode was not.
I like how they acknowledge that this was the worst rm episode they have ever made. Which is a real shame after 3 of the best eps we have received.
Balance must be restored
The season has been weak overall , all episodes remembered me other episodes from season 1 and 2 without the soul of r&m.
Not really. The only good episode so far was 1. 2 was just okay. 3 was meh. 4 was terrible. And if you saw the leaked episode 7 you would see it was terrible too. This is shaping up to be the worst season of Rick and Morty ever.
It just seems like this season is very different from the others, and doesn't have the charm which the other ones carried.
@@melloshi7580 i dont think they give a infinite shit about it tho lol theyre writing shows and youre writing yt comments

Honestly this was a train wreck of an episode. And just like a train wreck you can't resist looking. In short this episode was a trip. I like that Keith David returned as the president.
Why does every season need an episode like this?
