    I recently obtained one of these. A nice-looking gun, and seems to be solidly built. It is heavier than a Maverick 88 and similar shotguns, and thus has less felt recoil. However, mine came with a defective peep sight [turned out to be missing a screw]. I e-mailed SDS about this, and they promptly sent out another sight, which I easily installed on the gun. I am happy with both the gun and the customer service.

    I use Tom's feed n wax for all of my wooden parts on firearms. It's fantastic! It's actually designed to protect furniture but it does an amazing job on gun stocks. I even revived the wood on my dad's 1903-A3 that had been damaged when a pipe burst and flooded his basement. Brought it back to mint condition and it can even be used to provide protection from rust on all the metal parts as well. You gotta try it!

    Bought one to keep in my truck for a knock around shotgun. I am truly impressed with it. I too ordered all the extra accessories from TOKAREV USA. I screwed a Benelli extra full Turkey choke in mine and with Fiocchi 00 buck it is a demon at 40 yards! All nine pellets can almost be covered by your hand. It’s a 7" to 8" pattern all day long. Now the Fiocchi 00 buck is the only buckshot I’ve found that will pattern well through extra full choke tubes.

      @@lesstover649 I can tell you that replacement parts for this as far as I can see are not readily available and I'm not sure on the Remington, I looked for an ejector spring and never found one. A good smith can make one but the point is parts are important and thus far Tokarev does not make them available.
      I don't feel like this will face a major failure but "routine maintenance" parts will be needed at some point as they are for all firearms.
      This does not hav the typical Remington ejector spring that is riveted in the receiver. So it won't need on but I'm just pointing out parts are necessary and some established manufacturers don't make parts available either.

    • @megatrends
      @megatrends  Před rokem +1

      Never shoot a barrel threaded for a choke without a choke tube installed. You will destroy the threads and wont be able to insert a choke again unless you have it repaired by a gunsmith. The only choke I would recommend NOT using is the the smallest choke size. Also if you ever shoot steel shot dont use the smallest choke because with steel shot it doesn't change when fired like lead shot does. You can shoot slugs but over time it will wear out the choke and make the choke size bigger. The barrel wont explode but it isnt good for the choke. So yes, use the other two bigger choke tubes for slugs. Hope this helps ...

    I am on the fence on this shotgun. A bayonet lug would do it for me.

      @megatrends  Před rokem +1

      The bayonet lug is being sold by SDS Imports on their website for about $25 as well as the tube extension needed for about the same price. Other places online sell tube extensions for the Remington 870 style for $100 and up just for the tube and the same for the bayonet lug so this is a great buy.

      @@megatrends hey bud both my firearm and mag tube extension came in today. So I have a question. I bought the nickel plated model right. Well, where the HOLES are on the mag tube that allow you to release the plastic end cap, aren’t there. I can’t take the plastic cap out to replace with the extension and plastic end cap that comes in that. Is there a different method that you know of for the Nickel plated model? I hope there is and this isn’t a factory defect and have to send back lol. If you know of something please advise. TIA.

      Im glad u said that . I didnt even notice that on mines yet. Still have it in box . I just put my nickel extension on . All you do is get a flathead screwdriver & gently pry the black plastic lip out by going inside the large hole & work the inside edges Outward towards the sky. Be careful cause when it gets released...the inner spring jumps out really fast due to being compressed. Now add your new one.
      thank you

      @@cle-chi thank you so much for clarifying. TBH i was sort of irritated that this isn’t posted from any official SDS platform. Customer service guy was a condescending dick. Im a reasonable person honestly. Not everyone has been into this hobby for years. Ive only been at it for a few months and i do my research. But anyway enough rant imma try this thanks for the info.
