  • The SDS Imports Tokarev TX3 & Mossberg Maverick 88 Bayonet Lug Video
    Video discusses what I did to make the cheap eBay Made In China bayonet lug work on the Maverick 88 and also the installed SDS Imports bayonet lug install discussion.
    CZcams doesn’t allow video uploads depicting customization any longer so I do not show how to but instead show what was done and talking about how to do it.
    I discuss the cheap Chinese made Maverick 88 bayonet mount and how the threaded hex head bolt broke way too easily and what I came up with as a solution.
    Enjoy…

    Thanks for this video! I just bought the TX-3 Afghan National Police version from Classic Firearms, and also bought an M7 bayonet a couple months ago just because I had to have at least one bayonet in my self defense roster, lol! Now I find that bayonet can be mounted on my TX-3, since it came with the tube extension already installed. I was concerned about it (the bayonet itself) not being easy to install or remove, but your video showed me not to worry about that! So I just ordered the bayonet lug from Tokarev, soon will have a poker as well as a shooter!!! :D

      I did not see in the video how he installed that bottom part of the bayonet lug , how do I get that under that lip, those two screws came out I thought it would separate into two parts but it doesn’t. So how do I get that bottom part of the lug on? I have the same one you have the afghan police

    dude this is awesome thanks so much for posting more about this. Why are most shotguns so difficult to attach bayonets to?

    • @megatrends

      Very good question lol. And when you find them they often are very overpriced. These are affordable and effective. Thank you for watching.

    Added: I used a bluing pen on the nuts and bolts to turn them "Black" which is really Blued so they match the Mossberg Maverick 88 Shotgun Blued Barrel.

    I had ordered two Mag extensions and two bayonet attachments, as I'm planning on buying a second TX3. The mag extension went on without a problem.
    That endcap though. The screw did indeed strip on my first attempt to place it. It stripped very easily. I was 1000% more cautious with the second one and managed to attach it without stripping the screw.
    The bayonet goes on nicely, but is extremely difficult to remove. I have to tap it off with a small hammer.

      Yes, the bayonet lug must be set just so for the bayonet to come off easily. I messed with mine a few times until it cooperated. I just kept moving the parts forward or back and making sure they were aligned with each other and then it was fine. It's cool to have as an option and I liked that you can replace the magazine tube stopper if one wishes to completely uninstall the lug. As explained the "Real" Remington 870 you must file the inside of the tube to release the stopper which permanently alters the tube so no worries with the Tokarev. Thank you for watching and the update ....

    Question: I just got mine and I added the extention. I got 7 plus one in the gun, 2 3/4 shells. Is this possible?

    • @larry1754
      @larry1754 Před 11 měsíci +1

      I have seen several videos on the TX-3, including the Classic Firearms demo video. Most of them show 8 shells coming out of it before reloading, so I will say 7 + 1 can be done!

    beside putting loctite on the cap can you put loctite on the ring mount?

    • @megatrends
      @megatrends  Před 2 lety

      I used loctite on the part that screws onto the mag tube and also on the extension tube that screws into the nut that screwed onto the mag tube. The ring mount did not need anything to hold it tight.

    Was the end cap that goes on the one shot extension hard to put on? I just received my bayonet assembly and it doesn't seem to want to go on. I'm thinking it's to small. Thank you for any assistance.

    • @megatrends
      @megatrends  Před 2 lety

      No it was not difficult to put on the end. It was a perfect easy quick fit. Probably a dumb suggestion but make sure the small allen screw is unscrewed so it won't prevent it from slipping over the end of the extension tube. Other than that I can't see any reason for it not to fit other than a factory defect somehow. Mine was a nice fit, not snug and went on very easily.

    • @joejones1779
      @joejones1779 Před 2 lety +1

      My thoughts exactly, I took he screw completely out. The cap is the same size of the one shot extension. Guess I'll email SDS and see what they say. Thank you very much. Also I enjoyed your video.

    • @megatrends
      @megatrends  Před rokem

      @@teru797 Firstly it isn't difficult, I am assuming you already have the mag tube extension because you need both the mag tube extension and then the bayonet lug.
      It's pretty straight forward. You install the mag tube, there's a video on the official Tokarev CZcams and then the lug is very easy to install. You can tell how it goes looking at photos of it installed.

    Are there any semi auto shotguns that can take a bayonet?

    You should see what other stocks with fit the shotgun

    • @megatrends
      @megatrends  Před 2 lety +1

      That is a great question considering it is a Remington 870 clone. The Tokarev rep in a video on CZcams stated that Remington 870 accessories were planned for the future. Not sure what he meant by that ... The extension tube does fit my H&R Pardner Pump Remington 870 clone as well. I assume it would fit other Remington 870 designed shotguns. I can also imagine the stock would fit a Remington 870 either with or without modification. They go on and come off the same way ... so why not right? .... thank you very much for watching, much appreciated. very much appreciated. Thanks.

    Would have been super nice to actually have seen you install the bayonet lug. I’ve got the top part on but can’t figure out how you got that bottom part below the rail thing there

    • @megatrends
      @megatrends  Před 5 měsíci

      It is actually easy after you have the mag tube extension installed. You remove the mag tube and barrel and simply slide the bayonet mount on the tube. then pout the barrel back on and your mag tube extension. The rest is simply adjusting distance for whatever bayonet you bought to make it all fit snug.

    • @truthreigns3465
      @truthreigns3465 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Ok. Had no idea I had to remove the barrel. I wish this guy would have given an actual tutorial instead of it already installed. The top part is obvious of course , I haven’t taken the shotgun apart yet and def wasn’t away I had to remove the barrel. Hopefully there are some disassembly videos on here. I have not owned many shotguns. Mainly rifles and pistols
