I purchased one of these when they came out. Never a jam of miss fire. Eats everything you run through it. Beats the KSG all to hell. If SHTF this is what I would grab to clear out any crowd attacking my house and family. It is a beast.

@@subzero778 you can purchase it anyplace that carries them just like any shotgun. I got mine at cheaper than first because they had the best price at the time $1200. It is a double barrel 16 shot pump shotgun. The first pull fires the right barrel the trigger resets the trigger, and it fires the left barrel. The trigger resets fast. You can get speed loader tubes to load each tube fast. It will clear my driveway in seconds flat.

I have a KSG and a DP-12. From my personal experience, I love both equally. They both have their own strengths, weaknesses, and share many characteristics. The one advantage of the DP-12 is the double barrel, but that's really the only advantage over the KSG. I'm a really skinny dude so the weight difference between them is pretty obvious to me especially when fully loaded. They both shoot great and are dead accurate. I am more inclined to grab the DP during a home invasion because of the double barrel but I would much rather take the KSG to the range. It's lighter, I love the selector switch for the magazines, especially if you are putting different shells in each, AND it is easier to take a part and clean.

@@twistedyogert I've fired 17 thousand rounds through my dp-12 pro and have never had to do anything but swab the barrels. It doesn't break. That's why it's got the parts its got. Once you adjust everything to your liking and lock it in it stays that way. Once you strip one down you'll realize there are a lot fewer parts than you would think. A lot fewer than two pump shotguns for sure.
More and more dp-12 pro models showing up in tac comps. The pro model can be shaved down to just over 8 lbs 8 oz, and unlike any of the other bullpumps, it can be reloaded extremely fast. I can fire 24 mini shells and reload 24 more in about 10 seconds with speed tubes.

That shotgun is incredibly accurate. I love the safety features, and it seems to be solid and well designed. I would love to purchase one.
Save up for one. To justify the cost just figure the cost of two quality shotguns and think of the awesomeness of having them combined into one. I actually was going to save up for a second one.

Accuracy-wise, it's less about the actual accuracy and more about the weight of it and recoil control. I can do a figure 8 on a target with slugs at 25 yards because I can keep it steady and double-tap

Great review as always. One important thing you forgot to mention (I think) is that safety can't be put back on after the first (right barrel) shot. Not a big deal if you're always emptying your mag. But if you're hunting r skeet and hit your target on the first shot, you're stuck with a live round in the left chamber. You might forget that and safety is off..
I would not take this gun hunting, l have fell in the woods for years, it could be amimed at you head as well as feet, when l feel in the woods , as a 11 year old kid, l would throw the shotgun in front of me as l went down, the barrel would be far aged of my face as l went down, l was trained well as a mountain boy,unloaded when crossed fences

I bought this years ago. It is very heavy, not something to carry it is something to defense. But that manages the recoil very nicely. I think it's better than the KSG. Especially not having to change a switch to go from one tube to another once you clear out one tube and then cock again. It is solid, very well build. Doesn't look like it would ever fail. It eats everything I put through it. It's just heavy, not something you would carry through the woods. But something to defend your home or local area, this is awesome. Good on accuracy as well. No way I can shoot as well as Hickok45, but I've had good accuracy on it.

A long time ago, I watched this video, then ordered one. This is a solid weapon. I call it "my mini cannon". Friends and family are thrilled to fire it. these days, I say "sure we'll shoot it, bring all the ammo you like! it eats em up"
Hold the gun upside down in your left hand and load with your right hand. That lets you point the gun forward, while reloading shells.

I love my DP-12. It is built like a tank, is amazing looking, and is fun to shoot.
I have one, it's a blast on the range! Holds 16 shells with 2 in the pipes. Never a jam, hang up or any problems.

I've been using the SP-12 Auto Loader for years & it served me well but it had many serious recalls & I always felt apprehensive using it.
The DP-12 looks like the perfect replacement for home defense.
That looks like a pretty nice design, I'm not a huge fan of bullpups either but in a pump action tube fed double barrel shotgun like that that's seems to be a excellent system. I've always liked shotguns best for tactical reasons and also it's the Swiss army knife of firearms cuz you can shoot almost anything through the barrels flames are around, hi frangible sabo slugs, all kinds of stuff.

@@StandardMfgLLC I love mine as well! I had a KSG because I needed a bullpup for home defense (got some death threats) but the light weight did not work for me. Replaced it with a DP12 and hooo boy I love that thing. (That guy is no longer a risk for me- he's dead. [and I didn't do it, luckily])

I would not mind a heavy weapon for home defense. It means less recoil and more accurate follow-up shots if you have the strength to handle it. So like with most any weapon, it's user-dependent.

I own both the dp-12 and the ksg. I prefer the ksg over the dp-12 for one reason, disassembly. Ksg is a much simpler design. you can’t take a dp-12 apart in the field like you can a ksg. Also you need to adjust your aim for whatever barrel you’re firing. In a worse case scenario I don’t want to worry about which barrel to aim with.
