I hope luka changes the narrative (in the nba) that athleticism is only vertical leap and top speed. Stuff like balance and strength are parts of your athletic ability to. Of course proper footwork can help you change direction quicker but the ability of luka to change direction like that, thats not "just fundamentals" thats god like balance and body control
(To give another example: mj jumpef high, was strong and fast, but in my oppinion, the things he did and which we call "insane hangtime" was is ability to contort/spin his body around contact which for me is balance and body control and which is part of athleticism. For me thats the difference between those guys and people like wiggins...)

      @@DonLambJr Agree with you a 100%!
My point is, that even if you take another basketball talent and teach him the fundamentals the same way, they taught luka, he's still probably not gonna be as good as him. To do those things he does, on the level he does it, you have to have some physical prerequisites, which i think are his balance and body control. You can't learn that if your body just isn't build that way.
Basically what I'm trying to say, the "classic" definition of athleticism in NBA fandom (vertical, top speed, strength) don't contain all the physical abilities that make a nba player a all time great.
MJ was not only fast and strong, he also always was in control. And you can only be in control, going 100 miles an hour, if you have proper balance and body control, you need to be flexible and you need to have amazing stamina (you can't be clutch if you can't even breath anymore in the last minutes of the game).
motor skills, agility, balance, coordination and endurance are part of athleticism. And Luka may not jump as high as many other young players, but he dominates in the aforementioned categories.
Hope that makes a bit of sense :D

The Beal "crossover" was actually a mav stepping on Beal's foot. The video is showing it, so why is the commentator pretending it is something else?
