Larry is a notorious trash talker and an ultimate competitor, not surprising if this is true. Some greats might give him props but it takes all kinds to make the world go round.

The EuroLeague MVP was more than deserved and not because the adults were bad players, but because he was too good. In a 40-minute game (he probably didn't play more than 25 minutes), he was able to do a triple-double, something that hadn't been seen in the Spanish league for more than 15 years. Here he was always known as WONDER BOY and those of us who follow the NBA but also Europe knew what Luka was capable of. To Mr. Charles I would say that before you criticize something, make sure you know why you are criticizing it. Without seeing a competition you cannot criticize it. The NBA is not the navel of the world even though it is the best league. In addition, now he barely defends himself in the NBA, here in Europe he defends much more. For Luka it was going to be easier to score and pass in the NBA than in Europe 🙏 Peace

Luka has his own style and his own way to play basketball and he is from another era especially playing like this if he has been in the NBA for years of course in his country was already playing basketball and then when he was like 17 and 18 he was already playing for his national team and he also played for real madrid in spain and won MVP titles and chips with them and played against old guys and the game there is more aggressive and physical so when he arrived to the NBA he was ready for it since the NBA is a little to soft so for Luka is more easy than over there and he knows how to use everything when he play the game....

Paul pierce never fails to make something about him
He's right, Pierce used his body as well as anyone in league history, Pierce could score from anywhere, and he had a slightly slower, more lumbering pace to his game, but Pierce was more vertical and Luka more pure skill. Pierce was not the passer that Luka already is though, so you have that Larry/Magic quality to Luka's game in terms of court vision, BB IQ, and instinct. For the one-on-one aspect of the game, the similarities are definitely there between PP and Luka, but not as much for the all-around game.

With insane vision, He is so relaxed. That is why he is always feet-on-the- ground well balanced and able to change to a crazy pass in a split-second. The super athletic guys jumping around him he just calmly walks around while they are flying in the air. That is also why they say he is un-athletic. This also reduces his injury exposure.
I agree but can think of another danger. What if one of the big guys in the paint tries to block his shot, he will obviously miss because Luka will fake him out, but the big guy accidentally lands on Luka?

Luka took European basketball as an individual player, adapted it to NBA rules and keeps improving this style. He may have missed that top 75 thing, but I bet he will end up at least top 20 all-time in 25 years.
I can't see anyway he's worse than top 10. Just putting up stats that rival the best ever right now and he's still just a kid. If he does it for 2 or 3 years in a row and stays healthy, he's going to have a real argument for being top five. Tough to get higher without the athleticism, but if he can get his assists up to 10 per game I don't see how you say any point guard in history was ever better.

Russel got destroyed by Chamberlain every time they played, but wound up with an incredible number of rings because he had the best team mates (in an era where the players couldn't go anywhere else unless the owner decided to dump them).
As great as Jordan was (most people's #1) he didn't win ANYTHING until he was surrounded by Pippen, Grant, Kukoc & Rodman. That rings argument is so nonsensical...

He dominates offensively and because he can pass the ball so well they can keep the ball in his hands and wait until he makes the right play. He’s able to break down defenses because you have to send help, this kid will torch you one on one. One of my favorite players to watch

All great players seem to have so much time to do their thing, regardless of their chosen sport. Luka plays like his opponents are playing in slow motion. Messi playing soccer is a good comparison. Luka is special.
You can tell he's got goat material just by having a unique style of playing and that goes for any sport. You could say he's slow as hell, but the way he plays makes it irrelevant, which is exactly what makes him so hard to beat and genius.
You can tell he grinds hard, but as a Slovenian, we're used to being the underdog, no self esteem and underestimated all the time, especially by ourselves, which makes the appetite for being better even greater. This happens a lot with our athletes actually. They grind really hard so they can be considered relevant globally and then realize one day "oh shit, we actually reached the top of the game now"🤷♂ and there's only 2m of us.

That is his acceleration and deceleration, he can go from 0 to Max and can drop from Max to 0 in an instant..

I think he's a mixture of Paul Pierce and Jason Kidd. He's similar to Pierce because he has that "Yeah I'm not quick but I'm going to get to my spot no matter what you do." lol... They both pace at their own pace. It was hard to predict what they were going to do, and to take the ball from them. Luka also reminds me of Jason Kidd because he's strong, balanced, under control, and has deceptive court vision. Sometimes you think you have him cornered then you realize he wanted you there so he can pass the ball to an open teammate. He is definitely more polished than Pierce was. Pierce is his floor in my opinion. I love his game.

I think Luca is a combination of bird and Magic. He's a far better shooter than magic ever was and he's a little more athletic than bird was and a better outside shooter. Not sure he can take over a game on the level of either of them at the moment, it's more a matter of when he's on he's just better than everyone on the floor.
As teams start really focusing their defense around stopping him we'll see if he can find ways to still put up the numbers but my guess is that his scoring will drop a little at his assists are going to go into that Magic Johnson/ John Stockton range.

Kd had multiple hall of famers as teammates, as well as lebron, curry , Kobe , Shaq , etc! almost everybody in the top 25 had at least 1 if not 2 hof'ers /all stars . And it seems his floor on his current trajectory is top 25 easily baring injury . If they get him at least one mid level all star he will set this league on fire . Give him a player similar to a prime klay in just the phenomenal 3 and d aspect. As well as getting him a legit rim runner/rim protector they can win multiple championship. They have all there assets after this year! it also seems like a lot of players respect his game tremendously and wouldn't mind teaming up with him . Both have shown and done things not done before by any other player in the modern NBA. Remember all the doubters saying he wasn’t athletic enough, he was slow and so on? He’s mortal and may have an off game occasionally but he’s steady every game and clutch. He’s a quality leader on the floor, is aware of everything going on at all times and is not selfish. I love that Barkley's measure of greatness is if your number is worn in the hood. I genuinely laughed because it feels like the ultimate mark of respect in the city game.
Scouting players from Europe is notoriously difficult. You might get Gasol, you might get Milicic. Based on his background, you probably would have scoffed at the idea that Jokic would be a serious player, given he didn't play Euroleague. What Chuck didn't know - and he admits he didn't know - was that Jokic has it between the ears like nobody else.
It must be difficult to keep your feet on the ground if you're Luka though. You go from the best kid in Slovenia to the best young prospect in Spain at 16 to the best prospect in the NBA at 19. Every hero you ever have becomes your friend. Genuine headfuck.
Jordan had 2-3 all-star-caliber players on his team during his title years. Pippen is a HOF-er and he's not the only HO-er Jordan had on those title teams. Surround Luka with that kind of supporting cast and it's titles every time they're healthy. Look at Curry's recent titles: 2-3 all-stars and at least 2 guaranteed HOF-ers. Same with Giannis. Same with LeBron. Get Luka a solid supporting cast and he's golden.

@Slicc Kerr was never a star but he was a very good shooter. He helped the Bulls win many games.
@Slicc Rodman was never really a star. He was talked about so much because he was such an odd ball. With that said, he was one of the best rebounders and defensive players of all time. He absolutely had a lot to do with the Bulls winning Championships.
@Slicc I hear what you are saying about Rodman never making the All Star game with the Bulls but is doesn't mean he wasnt a star. Only so may guys can play on the all star team so there are many great players left off the team. MJ is the GOAT but he wouldn't have won most of those Championships without other great players around him. He had many players around him to help him get those titles. Luka doesn't have any really consistently great players around him yet.
@Slicc well, Pippen was MJs right hand man. Without Pippen the bulls wouldn't have won as many titles I dont think. When you get too many stars together that doesn't always go so well either. For the Olympics it worked but the teams the USA had to play were crappy.
